obamaKare: the destruction begins

I will take your claim that Hillary won't be president to the bank as fast as I would have taken your claims that the polling was off in the 2012 election and that nobody was "sniffing 300 electoral votes" which is the particular language you used if I can recall.fish82;1589698 wrote:With the GOP controlling both houses, at that point it becomes Obie "obstructing everything."
Hillary will never be POTUS. Feel free to take that to the bank, and fill out a deposit slip.
And has been shown, the yutes don't vote very well in off-year and down ballot elections, so unless you people can find another way to stop getting your asses kicked at the state level, the district configuration isn't going anywhere.
See above. There's at least a 50/50 chance that she doesn't even run.
The right wing media is floating all kinds of rumors that Hillary is "ill" or "sick" and there might be some truth to this talk but probably mostly right wing nonsense as is par for the course.
If she runs she wins.
And, 2020, the next census year, is a presidential election. While the democrats will once again face a set back in 2018 if she's the president, they will trounce again in 2020 and then that is when the gerrymandering of 2010 can be undone. -

You levy personal attacks in the actual sense of the term as opposed to attacking the argument. "You're embarrassing yourself" is a personal attack an in no way attacks the argument.Manhattan Buckeye;1589668 wrote:"You have been reduced to attacking me personally and the sources that I provide."
I'm not attacking you personally (and if you think I am, grow some thicker skin), I'm attacking your arguments which are baseless and your "sources" which are non-sensical.
You remind me of one of our friends in Singapore from France who knew EVERYTHING about American politics, could tell us what was wrong and how he'd solve everything - turned out he had never even been to the USA (which is very strange for a Euro).
Here is a helpful note - people don't like being told that what they experienced is different than what it was, from someone that didn't experience it. You haven't been to Singapore or the UK, so I get a bit hostile when you tell me things that are counter to the experiences we had when you have no clue.
I'm not saying it's a "personal attack" in the "OMG MB Hurt my Feelz" sense. IDGAF about what you think at all. I'm simply pointing out that you do not engage in rational debate about the topic at hand. Strange, unrelated stories about your wife and diversions from the topic at hand with benign insults about people being clowns, "not having passports" or being dumb is not rational argument. Also attacking a source as "non-sensical" without giving a reason for such a proposition is not an argument. Such tactics are the last refuge of the fool.
Here is a helpful note...Whether or not you lived in Singapore or not, it remains true that the Singapore healthcare system is much more Socialist than the United States as per the definition of Socialism. If you do not like the definition of Socialism then your problem is with history and etymology, not with me.
Here are the facts. You dislike Healthcare in the UK. You have praised Healthcare in Singapore. They are both varying degrees of Socialism, By Definition. The System in the UK receives high degrees of satisfaction per survey results. Indeed, maybe I have even been to the countries that you're assuming I have not been to and could provide my own anecdotal experience. But I would not bring that fact up because it is irrelevant just like it my own experience with firearms in the Navy was irrelevant to the actual arguments in the gun control threads. Personal anecdotal experiences are not informative. -

As is the left wing media. You're either spinning, or not paying very close attention. All one has to do is look at her, and see that there's something going on. You do what you want of course, but I'd start working on building up that bench a little bit. After Hillary, there's nothing there.BoatShoes;1589719 wrote:I will take your claim that Hillary won't be president to the bank as fast as I would have taken your claims that the polling was off in the 2012 election and that nobody was "sniffing 300 electoral votes" which is the particular language you used if I can recall.

That depends 100% on when her health issues come to light.BoatShoes;1589719 wrote:If she runs she wins.
LOL. You got your asses handed to you during the last POTUS election at the state level as well. The GOP is trending nothing but upward there, and 3 cycles won't be enough to turn the tide. 2030 is your best bet.BoatShoes;1589719 wrote:And, 2020, the next census year, is a presidential election. "free"?
Free from untenable debt inflicted upon The People? No! Economic freedom has been severely limited, no more so than by obama with his historic run-up of debt -- he will nearly double our national debt from $10 trillion to $20 trillion in a mere 8 years --- CRUSHING freedom, and enslaving The People into tax shackles forever.
Free to choose one's own health care and health insurance? No! Nearly 20% of the economy is being wrested away from The People; they will be forced to do as directed by central, authoritarian bureaucracy; they will not be free to choose their doctors or their insurance. Another blow to freedom.
Free to run your own business as you see fit? No! You will be forced to adhere to unaffordable and irrational regulations that will bankrupt your business, especially if it is in an industry not picked to be a winner by this anti-capitalist regime. You will pay your workers what obama says you will pay; you will march in lockstep with whatever edicts are issued by the EPA, NLRB, DOL, MSHA, OSHA, EEOC, and on and on. Entrepreneurial freedom is being crushed by the hour.
Free to live your life without being spied upon? No! Individual liberty being hijacked by this regime's NSA at an alarming rate. Kiss that freedom goodbye.
Free to express your thoughts and challenge BIG government and the political establishment? No! Dare to do that and you will be targeted by the IRS and hung out to dry. You will be subject to harassment, audit, penalty, fine, imprisonment. Your personal life, economic life, will be ruined.
Yeah, we are fucking free all right.
Go get some God damn help, you liberal shill. -

QuakerOatsAnd as we know, you cannot lift up the poor by tearing down the rich.
Aside from the myriad policy disasters and economic carnage being wrought by this regime, the class warfare bent is off the charts and could end up being the final nail in the coffin.

QuakerOatsThe House voted Friday to delay ObamaCare's individual mandate to buy health insurance for a decade, as part of a bill that would spare doctors from drastic cuts to their Medicare payments at the end of the month.
The vote was 237-182 with nearly all Democrats opposed. Now the bill goes to the Senate, where it's expected to die.
The vote was the latest in dozens of GOP-led efforts to undermine the Affordable Care Act. Democrats have blasted Republicans for attaching the ObamaCare measure to the critical Medicare issue, known as the "doc fix."
If lawmakers are unable to prevent Medicare reimbursement rates from seeing a 24 percent cut, many doctors could start to opt out, threatening the entire Medicare system.
The combination prompted opposition by the American Medical Association. That's despite the group's advocacy for changes in the Medicare payment system.
The vote is the first attacking the president's health care law since Republicans won an election for a House seat this week in a campaign that featured health care as an issue.
And some people think there is no difference between repubs and dems. The obamaKare disaster was forced upon The People by democrats ONLY, and they continue to stand in the way of doing the Will of The People.
I look forward to the cleansing in November. -

Only in conservative fantasy land. It actually has made the poor and the sick way better off already and will continue to do so. The American healthcare delivery system failed millions and millions of people. The people who are satisfied the most within it are those on Medicare, a socialist healthcare delivery system for the elderly.Manhattan Buckeye;1590238 wrote:"You dislike Healthcare in the UK. Enjoy ranting about Obummercare while you can because it is only going to get better and more entrenched from here...just like Medicare.
Indeed you should be happy that Obama passed Obummercare because it actually entrenched a workable form of private capitalism with private sector delivered health services and insurance plans while mitigating market failures. Obummer could have rammed through Single-Payer but chose Romneycare instead and it could have been better but it will turn out just fine. Hope this helps. -

Are you in CO taking in a little cannabis?
I am completely satisfied with my insurance and my doctor and my health care, as are 90% of the rest of Americans with private insurance and excellent doctors and hospitals. What the hell do you not understand about these facts?
Your side fucked up; they claimed they were going to somehow provide insurance to the un-insured; they have failed - miserably. And in the process they are ruining health care, for all of us. Why don't you just own up to this historic failure? Seriously, admitting your failings is the first step in the recovery process. -

When are you going to understand that your paranoid rants do not correspond to reality? Healthcare has NOT been ruined under any reasonable definition of the term "ruin". The sky has not fallen. There has been zero "destruction". Indeed, every person the GOP trots out as some sad victim of Obummercare has actually benefited. As with all laws, there are winners and losers and the losers are healthy, young men...but they are not "losing" that badly, they were already losers in collective private insurance group plans and in the aggregate are society is achieving greater aggregate happiness.QuakerOats;1591372 wrote:Are you in CO taking in a little cannabis?

There are still excellent doctors and hospitals but now more people are getting to go them.
Obummercare is irreversibly entrenched. Even a GOP candidate that wins will own up to this fact when in office after he lies to the base to get elected.
The sad part is that you are so irredeemably partisan is that I like to laugh about another possible world where Mitt Romney is capable of winning an election and Quakeroats is praising Romneycare on message boards across teh internetz. -

Just like Ronald Reagan said that passing Medicare would mean that conservatives would tell their children and their children's children what it was like when men were free did not come to pass...so too will all the doomsday prophecies about Obummercare fail to materialize.believer;1591408 wrote:wut?
Indeed, Obamacare will slowly and gradually become a third rail and become very popular....just like Medicare did.
A classic point is how you, as you near retirement, a self-proclaimed conservative, argue against cuts to the largest socialist program in the world, Medicare. Principled Conservatives in their 40's and 50's will soon be arguing against any proposed cuts to subsidized private health insurance that are thanks to Obamacare and makes their lives much better.
