obamaKare: the destruction begins

That's not necessarily surprising. Besides a variety of factors driving early success/failure, there's obviously less "powder" left to fuel a surge for states that had been more successful.elbuckeye28;1601811 wrote:...states that provide consistent data, and had been consistently more successful, experienced a weaker surge (only 63%) compared to the unverifiable data.
And I'd also suspect that he 7M target was a very conservative number that they felt would be easy to hit so they could claim a victory. And if they did fall short, well then, shoot, just lie. Because a few months from now when accurate data comes out who is going to care? Certainly not the liberal media, and even if it were an issue people will continue to sign-up which means they could change the narrative, i.e. "well, we actually only got 6M...but now we're at 8M"
The only number that's going to matter, which unfortunately won't be out before the 2014 elections, is whether they cut a check to the insurance companies and how big that might be. A large check would be a big failure, and would mean they fell well short of the number they needed to sign-up and/or got the wrong mix of subscribers. A health provider bailout would be one hell of a matzo ball. -
JU-ICEThe only number that really matters and will more than likely never be reported is, how many of the 7 million that signed up did not have insurance prior to Obamacare? I suspect that the vast majority of the 7 million are people who lost coverage due to the law and were forced to sign up to provide coverage for themselves and/or families.

- YET ANOTHER ObamaCare surprise waits for consumers: from now until the next open enrollment at the end of this year, most people will simply not be able to buy any health insurance at all — even outside the exchanges.

And when it's all said and done, there will STILL be 30,000,000 without health insurance. Do any of the Obamabots feel a scintilla of shame for supporting the grand lie???QuakerOats;1602744 wrote:- YET ANOTHER ObamaCare surprise waits for consumers: from now until the next open enrollment at the end of this year, most people will simply not be able to buy any health insurance at all — even outside the exchanges.

I thought, "well, this will be interesting because Yahoo typical has an MSNBC-level slant on politics". Seemed like a decent article, but the write just HAD to throw some non-sensical kool-aid in there that's completely out-of-place with the content of the article.QuakerOats;1603555 wrote:http://finance.yahoo.com/news/two-studies-raise-red-flags-093000430.html

Incredible cost increases due to obamaKare!
When the government takes control of 20% of the economy and causes the costs therein to skyrocket, my guess is we will be looking at another major recession.
What this regime has wrought is CRIMINAL!!!
Change we can believe in ... -
like_thatA friend of mine had a CT scan last month and just got the bill for it. Because of obamacare, his deductible went from $500 to $3000. So now he owes $2500 out of pocket.

1. How do you know it was because of Obamacare?
2. You are aware that the Conservative position on Health Insurance is that people should have High Deductible Catastrophic Health Insurance Plans and that a health care reform that is even more conservative than RomneyCare/ObamaCare would be one wherein most current plans which are really more like Pre-Paid health plans than "health insurance" are done away with in favor of high deductible plans.
Manhattan Buckeye, care to chime in on how young men should have high deductible plans??? Etc. Etc. -

The reality and the uncertainly can easily tank the economy.

Uhh because, before obamacare the deductible was $500. They then raised the deductible because of obamacare. THEY TOLD HIM THIS. They raised rates on an avg of 86% in preparation of obamacare.BoatShoes;1605441 wrote:1. How do you know it was because of Obamacare?

Why is your reaction always to play the polititard card? It doesn't matter whether the law was passed by Democrats, Republicans, Communists, Fascists, or anyone else. It's bad law, and OF COURSE it's the number one reason for the jump in out of pockets costs, it's absurd to claim otherwise.BoatShoes;1605441 wrote:1. How do you know it was because of Obamacare?

You read all these factual articles, and then you talk to friends who are actually living the obamaKare nightmare - real people with real massive premium increases and huge deductibles, and you start to understand what a horrible law this is, and the incredible destruction it will inflict not only on health care but on the economy as a whole. We are headed to hell to on a fast track. -

2. You do realize you are wrong. The conservative plan included catastrophic plans as an OPTION, not as the norm for everyone like you are suggesting. How do you know that his friend was a "young man"?
