THE4RINGZThat Northwestern Sectional has the makings of a real meat grinder. I might even buy a ticket. Some real studs going head to head in that one in West Salem.

rtherthrwyathnknwyaHey guys. Check out my Friday night invite over on the sectional thread. Just thought it would be fun.
-
falcon81The calm before the storm.....shhh...Never mind , Its just a lighter than expected "golden shower" and a little "brown Hail" from some wayne county rabid farm animal.
-
1_beastLOL 'GOLDEN SHOWERS' need something to wash away the horsesh1t being thrown by the mustangs .... or are they still ponies?
-
falcon811 Beast.... where are you?? Why are you being so Quiet ? Its just not like you!!
-
UncleGrizzlyBuggy traffic slow to Waynedale.........
-
1_beastBah...not real happy! Worried about Siegel. Up in Norwalk for sons Districts tomorrow. Had to take a swim and get in the hot tub!!!
-
falcon81Ok wayne county , not a terrible week. What are the totals to Columbus? Where is everyone staying in Columbus ? I will say our sectional and District is ridiculous and hurts the area's numbers. No major surprises? Definitely some major disappointments. The 1 Beast must be at the Vet, very very quiet. If the beast aint talkin nothings happening. I think there should be a watering hole meeting at state , leave the guns .
-
UncleGrizzlyI think the Beast might be @ the American Legion ( Welty) over on Hackett. Lots of buggy tracks going in and out over the weekend.
-
Wooster RoosterHow does everyone think Wayne Co will do at state? I dont get it, this thread is diehard all year and your biggest week of year virtually nothing. It was to bad to see Wooster come close to getting Yost but Generals shutout again. Sounds like Scafer and Raber have great chances to win state and who else will be allohio. Who will do best as a team? Where are the Waynedale fans? They should do good also?
-
rtherthrwyathnknwyaZeb, Justin and Jon aren't sitting very well from a a title perspective. However I hate to underestimate team Beam. I'll be rooting for them!
Wyant has a shot of winning his first match, I just hope he had a good week of practice. I wonder how much he and Raber actually wrestle during the week. I am really hoping for a Hall Raber finals. Funny story. At districts Raber was warming up with one of my boys and I yelled over to them "Hey! Tell Raber not to flee the mat while you're drilling." He shot me one of those smiles that just says piss off.
Topp and Schaefer have winnable first round matches and I'm looking for Topp to push Norenberg IF he can get the chance. I do wonder if Tyler will lose some of his powers being so far from the farm. The bottom 1/2 of D3 189 is loaded, however Kurtis doesn't have a cake walk to the finals. There is a tough Galion kid that will prolly roll out to the semi's.
I wonder is Richards has enough offense to make the finals. Good luck uncle fester! Grier is on a tear. I would have bet the farm that Spreng wins that match. Don't forget that Ratay was out too! Great job! He has hammers between him and the finals.
I am not an authority on the mustangs, but I know I've been watching this team at the youth level and they are deep and strong. I like so many of their guys. Aggressive wrestling using speed and strength. Oh! For the record being on a knee is not stalling.
Good luck to all! I'll be staying at an exclusive resort in Delaware Ohio this weekend. Look me up if you're passing through. -
THE4RINGZGood Luck to all wrestlers representing Wayne County this weekend.

Red RumFirst of all, Congrats to Raber on his championship.
A couple more gold medals would have been nice, but I guess we'll have to wait until next year. Overall, the area grapplers went 32-32 with 8 of 17 placing and 0 top 10 teams. An average showing at best. Hopefully, next year will be better. The Wayne area still has alot of room for improvement as we learned at Maple Hts & Columbus.
A few random thoughts on the postseason....
*The Maple Hts 119 placers were an enigma. 4th place Thompson at districts takes 3rd at state & Nelson, Wiseman & Tschantz don't place. I wouldn't have called that one in a million years. Tough bunch of kids.
*Kudos to Justin Petersheim. Despite finishing 8th, almost everyone (including me) had him written off in consolation rd 2 against Collier. Major clutch effort when it was most needed. Senior goes out All-Ohio. Congrats!
*Utleys game performance against Phillips really makes me long for a champions round robin. Demas vs Phillips would definately be a highlight.
*If Running, Schaefer, Brettrager & Beam each wrestled each other a few times or at least enough to know the others style, I'm not sure who would come out on top. I don't think anyone would go unbeaten. No offense to Running. (2 time state champ and deservedly so) Just a thought.
*Nice rebound from possible catastrophe for Osting and the Chipps. Area best 12th place finish. Nice Save.
*The return of Hall, Schaefer, Z.Beam & Tuslaws Terror Twins has me excited over the prospect of multiple champions and a banner year for area grapplers in 2011.
*and finally, To my "know it all" pal in Medina... D2-130 Jordan/Skonieczny 3-1 YOU LOSE. 20 crisp singles or the yellow snow cone...the choice is yours. Time to pay up!!!!! -

I agree on it was great to see Petershiem go out the way he did. Good kid, scrappy and a good sport.Red Rum wrote: First of all, Congrats to Raber on his championship.

I would have liked both Beams to do better. I would love to see Zeb end up with a title when he is done.
Hall and Schaefer will have a legit shot next year. Will Zeb and Hall be in the same weight , that will be interesting.
Yes 119 was weird. The kid Zack beats 19-8 first round places and Zack and a 40-1 kid battle in OT just to place in consi's . The consi brackets were very upside down . Oh well you cant blow a 4-1 lead at States , he will learn from it.I would rather wrestle the bottom 6 placers than 3 thru 8 if they wrestled next week. "enigma" is a good word for how things played out Red Rum.
Zane going to 140 was a good move even though he was smaller than most he wrestled very aggressively. With some horse power improvement by next year he might surprise some next year.
I was one of the few that called Utleys match by less than 3 . Being in the room with him everyday last year and seeing him work and improve I knew he was going to keep it close.
Yes next year will be exciting for the Wayne county area . Possibly the most potential state champs in a single year. We will see.
Lastly congratulations to Raber on his state title after last years close call !! Way to represent the Area!!
PS ,I miss the Beast and his ramblings. Iam sure he will more than make up for it soon.
