Adam Jones signed for $3m plus $2m in incentives?

How did the Dolan's not go get that done?  Cheap

I don’t get it either. Seems like a no- brainer.

I understand pitching and defense... but you gotta score to win, too. I pencil in that lineup, and I see a lot of outs.

We all know my thoughts...I wanted to trade for Jones last year.

Back to the old ways of trying to catch lightning in a bottle. They actually are pretty good at it.

It would be nice if they would make these deals  with a team option year.

... and yet, Adam Jones would have cost just $1 million more... $3 million if he has a great year. SMH.

I think Carlos could have a big year. Back where he feels comfortable, winning culture, friends, etc. Wonder if we hit him leadoff or not? Top 3-4 of lineup is solid as any, but man they may not see jack shit all year to hit.

If he’s you’re 5th starter, you’re doing something right. I don’t follow spring training too much, but Clev got kinda lit up yesterday when I watched.

Bieber is a bright spot.

Meanwhile, Lindor , Zimmer,  and Kipnis will open the season on the DL.

This season is starting to remind me of 2008.😕

Zimmer was known, Kipnis is expected, Lindor is precautionary

Carlos Santana leading the Tribe Spring Training stats:

Hits - 22

Runs - 11

HR - 4

RBI - 12

BA - .415 (starters)

Also, Tribe signs Brad Miller to fill in for Kipnis.

Hope Ramirez is nothing serious. I’ll guess a contusion that might miss first week

Carted off sounded awful on twitter, so hopefully just a week or two. Opening day roster gonna suck.

Indians.com says X-Rays negative for break. Tito says he is day to day right now.

Bieber roughed up a little bit today (of course after I post how good he was doing).

Oliver Perez had a terrible appearance.

So here we go.

Mandy Bell quote from Indians.com:

"Between the amount of turnover the Indians had this offseason and this season’s injuries, there’s a chance that none of the players who started in over 100 games for Cleveland in 2018 will play on Opening Day (Lindor, 158 games; Ramirez, 157; Kipnis, 147; Yonder Alonso, 145; Michael Brantley, 143; Edwin Encarnacion, 137; Yan Gomes, 112; Brandon Guyer, 103; Rajai Davis, 101)"

Just a terrible message to put out there as an owner.

Paul Dolan is stating the obvious. Did anyone ever expect them to pay Frankie $350mm? I certainly did not. That said, it's still a really shitty message to fans.

Dolan did an interview where he talked the financial aspects of running a smaller-market team where he, among other things, said that his team wouldn't be giving out $300M contracts until baseball as a whole was up to billion-dollar ones. And when specifically asked about Lindor, who is Cleveland's young star in that "future Harper, Machado, Trout" echelon of eventual contract size, he basically told the fans to enjoy him now.

In other words, one of those things that fans LOVE to see, where the owner of a smaller-budget club basically comes right out and says "Nah, we ain't opening up the wallets like that, regardless of how good our dude is!"
