Zimmer should be back at some point before Opening Day.

good article--I completely agree
^^^^^^ From that article:
"Gone is not just Chief Wahoo but many of his deputies, including six of the nine players in the Indians’ starting lineup for their playoff farewell against the Astros: Michael Brantley, Yandy Diaz, Josh Donaldson, Edwin Encarnacion, Yan Gomes, and Brandon Guyer."
67% of that starting lineup.....gone
I can’t say I’m very happy with the way that tickets for the All-Star game events were presented to season-ticket holders. You have to buy the ENTIRE AllStar event “strip”.... tickets to ALL the events. This translates into over $1250 for my two tickets in the bleachers.
Allstar game tickets are $250 each (bleachers).
Tix to the HR derby ...$240 each
And to top it off, another $135 for other events like the celebrity softball and Futures game.
I imagine that MLB has the say in pricing and ticket policy rather than the Tribe, and they’ll probably sell everything out regardless, but this is one shakedown I can pass on.
... and for the opportunity to host this we gave up Chief Wahoo. SMH

The guy says a lot of things that the Cleveland beat reporters won’t say.
Most certainly, for Tribe fans, a “winter of discontent”.

We considered not renewing our season tickets and just scalping for the HR derby and actual all star game, but we decided to keep them for one more year. I have minor regrets right now, but we'll see how it goes the rest of the year.

This will be our last year purchasing season tickets.
Have not decided on All-Star game purchases yet.
Tribe should seriously consider signing Harper for 3 years. Something with a real high per year, but not length. New CBA after his last season would be beneficial as well.

1) I believe the Giants offered Harper this type of contract and he turned them down.
2) Dolan's ain't ponying up that, they won't even offer a decent OF this offseason.

I know. I was just stating how it would be smart for both parties.
Its actually the best way for Harper to make the most money (assuming he doesn’t suck, leading to no big 2nd contract). Tribe could make it work without adding much to payroll, actually. But I know they wouldn’t.

Tribe is better than the Giants tho.

Has he stated a preference of playing location? My general impression of Harper is that team winning is not the highest on his priority list. He definitely is a firery competitor, but that appears self serving, from the outside, not knowing him.
Clev and his theory on dog nipples is Bauer like

Yup it’s more set up for corporate people and out of towners IMO. I remember Detroit’s a little over ten years ago, my dad had to blow a crap ton for the damn Futures Game. Haha he was so pissed
Tyler Naquin claims the first dinger of the season.

I like him and I hope he will be a big contributor this season while staying injury free.

Lol Clev is hilarious. I love that him and Bauer are best buds because they are so different. As for Naquin, the outfield is wide open. Good article on the athletic about how at least the defense this year will be better, but their offense is all questionable. Naquin has a great arm for right field, but his hitting is all over the place.
BTW, the "Battle of Ohio" today ended in a 3-3 tie.
So I guess that's a victory for the Reds since we have the better team........for now.........ha ha!

Hanley Ramirez.
If anyone is interested, just noticed that Tribe and Brewers are on STO right now. Middle of 4th.
So, Perez is simply not great st the plate. We’ve seen this enough to know it’s true. However, did anyone else see the projected WARP for Perez? He is so fucking good defensively he is projected as the best catcher in baseball. 25.3 or something. 24ish points from defense alone. I mean, it’s gonna suck watching him K 2x a night with runners on, but it’s also gonna be amazing to watch this defense and pitching all year. Gomes was fine, but slightly below average, where as Perez was top-10 in about 1/3 of the season.
Coupled with Zimmer/Ramirez/Santana/Lindor/Allen in the field, our defense should be amazing. Kipnis and LF/RF (not sure how OF spots will shake out) will be only weaknesses on the diamond.
Perez has had some clutch hitting moments. It would be great if he could manage to get some consistency at the plate. Yes, the defense of the club is looking good.
Just got done reading this, and it sure makes Bauer look like a prick...hope he kicks ass this year for the Tribe, but what an arrogant dick.
Adam Jones signed for $3m plus $2m in incentives?
How did the Dolan's not go get that done? Cheap
