I hope that's it. Three Willies.
Joltin' Joe DiMaggio (he's in the Seinfeld episode I'm watching right now)

I looked him up. Your 1940 cutoff excluded Joe. He led in triples with 15 in 1936 (rookie season) and HRs with 46 in 1937. Not bad.
Trout?
Sandberg?
Jim Rice had back to back 15 3B seasons according to the baseball card I looked at 3 days ago. Did that lead the league? Lol

Don’t seem very triple...ee
Not sure Dave Winfield ever had the power, but he would’ve possessed the capabilities for both. Also don’t think he won MVP. But know he was top 3 at least.

Just looked this up. This fits.

19 3B one year, never more than 8 in any other season.

I think his high in HR was 37 or 39

Rice in 1978 I think led AL in HR with 46 and MLB in triples with 45

19 triples 1 year and 40 HR one year to lead NL

Wait, does the question say something about that? Led in triples one year. Led the with 40 HRs in another year. Hmm ... I might be misreading the question.
Laley wins.....next round of questions on Monday
Hope you’ve enjoyed so far

No, you were fine. I just thought that 19 3B season was crazy given his totals in every other season.
