Carlos Delgado is one of the most underrated players of the last 25 years.

Agreed.  Of the five, he's the only one in question who isn't in the Hall purely because people act like he wasn't good enough, which is a shame.

Yep, he's in the Hall of Very, Very Good. Borderline HOFer.

QUESTION #12:

Babe is rumored to have called his shot with a point of the bat, but another player is said (with some corroborating evidence) to have announced to the stands that he would hit a home run in his pinch hit at-bat, which he then proceeded to do.  Who was it?

HINT: He's also the last player to have ever intentionally stolen first base from second base.

I know this but this is quite tough. You’ve either read about him or you’ll never get it. I have and he’s interesting but not sure the other 6 people on here have....but maybe they have.

It was referenced a bunch a few years ago, when Manny accidentally "stole" first base from second.

If you think this one is too tough, I can swap it out for a different one.

Manny will be what comes to mind I imagine with our trivia crowd. Do as you wish. This thread is going well and you are a big part of it.

Well I was gonna guess Willie Wilson (even though not in HOF) lol because so many Willies on this thread. So I’ll go with another Willie who was back in the day. Willie Keeler?

Well he hasn’t played in a 100 years and wasn’t very good but did play 13 or 14 years I think.

Germany Schaefer was a good call, Ironman.

QUESTION #13:

Since 1900, five players have hit four home runs in consecutive at-bats in a single game.  Only two of them are Hall-of-Farmers.  The other three are Rocky Colavito (6/10/59), Mike Cameron (5/2/02), and Carlos Delgado (9/25/03).

Who are the two that made it to Cooperstown?

Didn't Shawn Green have some sort of HR streak 15 years or so ago? Maybe games in a row with a HR or something?

Shawn had 4 HR and 2 doubles in the same game...most total bases ever in a game. That’s my memory of him

If Schmidt or Gehrig is wrong I’ll guess Mays as the other.

Ok, that's right. I thought it was something to do with 4 HRs.

QUESTION #14

Seventeen players have hit four home runs in four consecutive at-bats spanning two games.  In 1990, one player finished the streak forty days after starting it because of injury.  Who was it?

(Think a power hitter with some injury issues in 1990.)
