Boggs was up at 24....walked a ton too.Very impressive he got to 3000, sounded like he could’ve pushed towards 3500 had not been in minors for so long.

Funny story, my dad took me to Tropicana for the Rays opener. For a decade plus I thought Boggs and McGriff made their name in Tampa lol.

justincredible

It's crazy how big of a dude Wade Boggs was to have only hit 118 HRs in his career. Only two season in double digits, one with 24 and one with 11. He averaged 8 HRs per 162 games.

He’d rather go oppo off the green monster. Boggs could rake. Far less HR were hit when he played but I have no doubt he could’ve hit 20 a year and batting .300 instead of 8 hitting .330

Question #8

These 2 HOF hurlers.....one had 19 straight seasons of 200 innings pitched (not counting a strike shortened season)...and in 3 seasons from age 38-40 he pitched over 1,000 innings! The other one began his career with 20 consecutive 200 inning pitched seasons (not counting strike shortened season).....didn’t go under 200 innings in a full season until his 22nd season and went 194 that year.

Name the 2 HOFers

One of these has to be Phil Niekro.

I'm guessing the other is either Steve Carlton or Don Sutton.

Looks like OTrap got them with Niekro and Sutton. I forgot that 1981 was a strike shortened season.

Niekro LOST 58 games in that 3 years stretch from age 38-40. Wow.

I remembered it was, so I knew it had to involve either '81 or' 94-'95.

Gwynn.

I forgot he was thinner earlier in his career.  I never would have guessed this, but I think it's right.

It’s correct....he was also drafted by the San Diego Padres and the NBA Clippers on the same day.

Besides Gwynn George Sisler did it in 1922 and King Kelly did it in 1886

I read the question to my wife, she said Hornsby or Gwynn.
