Paul Molitor is the 4th
14 years apart....did it at age 38
Dude missed about 350 games due to injury before age 30, 3 strikes.....dude basically missed 3 seasons and still had 3300 hits, nearly 1800 runs, 600 doubles, 500 SB
That’s bad ass too.

I suppose that's why he's a good answer for almost every question.
Dude was hugely talented.
Question #101
Since 1930, only three HOF players had 170+ hits in each of their first five years in the league.
Who are they?
Boggs? I feel every recent one got a September call up killing their chances.
Jackie (also how has he not been even a guess on an answer yet?)

You got two of them. Joe and Ted.
Musial had 3 in his first five season.
Mantle had 1.
Jeter had 4.

There it is. He's #3.
Joey D, Teddy, and Jackie are the only three HOFers to do it since 1930.
For the record, the fact that he hasn't been guessed much is why I picked the question.
Strike of 1981 kept Eddie fucking Murray off this list

LOL
Of course Eddie got that close.
Always a good answer.

We’ve used almost everyone post 1925

Nice. My next guess was Puckett. Just looked him up. Fell 5 short in first year then ripped off 6 in a row.

Yep.

I saw that. Was so close.
Guys like Jim Rice and some lesser guys gave me the inspiration for this thread.
Doesnt take much thought to guess Willie Mays, Hank Aaron and Ted Williams
This thread has people appreciating the Eddie Murray, Paul Molitor, Frank Thomas etc
It’s been good entertainment for a week for 7-8 of us participating in this thread. O-Trap asked f I mind if he could post some with me.....lol he had a lot built up in there haha. Over 100 questions, 1700 replies and 4100 views lol...on this site.
Screw you Covid-19 Eddie Murray is kicking your ass.

Screw you Covid-19 Eddie Murray is kicking your ass.
And screw you too, Mo Vaughn.
I did have a bunch built up. I went to bed to stories of these guys for like a decade.
Have a framed picture of Ted up in my office even. My grandfather, the man who got me into baseball, has a matching one.
I know that he's not hall of fame yet, but the last question made me think of Ichiro, so I looked him up. He was 170+ his first 12 seasons, and 200+ his first 10 seasons.

Question #102
On the all-time single season strikeout list there are only 4 HOFers listed in the top 500! Only 3 in the top 280 and only 2 in the top 100!
List the 4 HOFers on this dubious list.
