Love him or hate him, it was encouraging to hear Aikman compare this Browns team and its talent to the early Dallas teams of the 90's "right before they turned the corner"...he really seems to like this team.

There was another former player on that Dallas team telling Dorsey the same thing on last Hard Knocks episode. I forget who it was though.

Highman I think is who it was. As far as Haley, he’s already said in hard knocks that basically the preseason is to work on things. Just like in the 2nd preseason game he wanted to run the hell out of the ball. In the regular season I would bet any amount of money they would have handed the ball off to Hyde on first and probably 2nd down. It was just something to work on and the first play was so messed up you knew that same play was going to happen again on 3rd down. I have no problem with it bc who gives a shit if you win a preseason game.

I don’t buy that at all. Steelers fans for years were bitching about his play calling on short yardage plays. He then bones up a short yardage situation and were supposed to believe it was just him trying things out in preseason? No chance. I like Haley but there’s a reason Pittsburgh let him go—he’s not perfect.

Tyrod dislocated his pinky on his left hand. Not a big deal, but still shouldn't have gone back in. And the reason Browns fan's currently like Haley is bc it isn't Hue calling plays.

100% this. I'd be fine with crowdsourcing playcalls from the opposing team's fan over Hue making the call.

From Hue - Tyrod, Ward and Randall should be fine, Avery will miss some time for a hip injury but not ruled out for opener.

Damn I liked Avery, he's flashed in the preseason as our 2nd ebst pass rusher IMO.

Okay, here’s a scenario I just heard that you can file under ‘it’s so crazy that it could happen’. Urban Meyer is so upset and disenchanted with the powers-that-be at OSU for what he perceives as being thrown under the bus, that he will coach out the season (with a vengeance, I might add), and then tell OSU hasta la vista. Meanwhile, Hue Jackson will under achieve yet again, get fired by the Browns, opening the door for...

So he can join Nick Saban, Steve Spurrier and all the other high-level college coaches who moved to the NFL and had endless success?

Nope. Rather get a guy with some proven success in the NFL. My ideal candidate is a younger coordinator that is creative and a leader. Not some retread bozo from the old boys club or a college guy.

Yeah no thanks on urban. Great college coach but too many questions about how he’d be at the nfl level.

Pass on Urban for me as well. I don't trust coaches with little to no NFL experience. Urban has never coached in a NFL capacity.

This would be my ideal also, if they have to hire again in the near future. Need a younger guy who has maybe had experience at both the college & pro level (preferably offensive minded) who can mold his system to the talent around him, not vice versa (see Pat Schurmur)

Projected 53 man roster.....I'm sure this will change once the final cuts happen and the Browns have first choice of available FA's
