How many mulligans do you guys allow per hole?

First tee shot only.

However, 3-putt limit and pretty generous with gimmies. Don’t want to spend half the day in greens.

I was kidding about mulligans per hole. I think our league allows one per round (9 holes) but I never take one.

Anyone have a major preference on their glove? I'm going to be in the market for a new one after this round, I'm guessing. My current glove is a Nike I bought on a whim at the course before a round last year. It's held up pretty well, but I don't play that much. For those that play more often than I do, I'm curious if you've found a brand that holds up well.

Well, I’m a Nike whore. So I stick with them. I usually buy a few of the previous year’s version of the Dura Feel. I go through probably 3-4 a summer. I probably should switch out more often, but I’m cheap. I did use a TaylorMade one for awhile last summer. It was really soft, but I wore a hole in it after like 5 rounds. Can’t remember the style, but it was blue packaging.

I played an absolutely dreadful round tonight, but only lost one ball. If you would've told me I'd only lose one ball before the round started I would've been very happy. Not so much. Too many lost strokes by following up great first shots with absolutely awful second shots. My one great drive (290 yards in the middle of the fairway, 80 yards from center green) turned into a 6 because it took four shots to get to the green. On the first hole I put my tee shot pin high, just to the left of the green, a simple chip and putt away. Of course, I lifted my head on my second shot, bladed it and sent it across the green for another chip, this one down hill that off course rolled a little too far. An easy par turned into a double bogey in an instant.

Chipping and putting is the score. No double chips and no 3 putts...good score

I think I only had one three putt.

What ball is everyone playing nowadays?

I made the “5witch” when the new TaylorMade TP5x came out. I liked them at first, but have recently switched back to the ProV1x. I buy the practice version though. Which is the same exact ball, but sometimes will have a cosmetic blemish. They are typically the prior generation, which is completely fine with me. And at $30/dozen, you can’t beat it.

I use ProVI's. Golf gloves I use Foot Joy but they are getting harder to find so I also use Nike gloves but they don't wear as well as the Foot Joy's.

What are your favorite courses in the Newark area? I'm coming up this weekend and planning on playing Saturday. I've played several, but it's been a few years. I think I played Longaberger 2 years ago, and Raccoon about 6-7 years ago. The rest have been a decade or more.

ProV1 or Callaway. Don’t really use anything but those two.

Booked a tee time at the Trout Club for the morning. I haven't played there in 17-18 years.

Try out Denison, I’ve heard it’s great. Also, not really Newark, but Cumberland Trail in Pataskala is a great track.

Had this sent to me. I was off on my numbers. He didn’t shoot as good as I thought but actually walked/carried more holes than I thought.

Not sure if it will post in readable form. This was my grandpa.

Yeah, the Denison course looks nice. I might try it the next time I'm in town.

I doubt I could play that many holes of putt putt without losing a ball.

I like The links at echo Springs,Cumberland Trails,Denison,Trout Club and Raccoon. Once a year I will splurg and play Virtues(Longaberger0

Trout Club has had some improvements mostly the club house and they have opened up the restaurant. The course has been improved and is in good shape. Some improvements are that big bush that was right in the middle of #1 fairway has been removed and they removed a lot of the bushes down the left side of fairway on #9.

One practice swing, address ball, hit ball. Unfortunately, whether you have a cart or not, if you have dawdlers ahead of you, you ain't going anywhere...imo, there's nothing more frustrating during a round of golf than waiting, on each and every shot. Nothing.

That's what sucks about playing up north this time of year. I absolutely love Treetops and Shanty Creek but god damn is it slow.

IMO it's fine if you take your time on shots as long as you don't fuck around getting out of the cart and getting to the ball

Sank my 3rd shot from 112 yards this morning for a bird. Best shot of my life. Had another great shot from 155 out, put it a foot from the hole and easily took another birdie.
