Demoed the G400 tonight, as well as the Callaway Rogue. Didn't really see much of an improvement over my current TaylorMade Burner. They both sounded better, but I was hitting them pretty much the same distance, with the same dispersion. I'm a little disappointed.

Hit the Rogue again and ended up liking it more today. Just ordered one from Callaway Pre-Owned for $220.

They've got a great 30% off sale going on now if anyone is in the market for anything.

I meant to suggest looking there.

I've read great stuff about CPO. I ended up buying in "very good" condition, which saved me about $23 over the "like new" driver. I've read they generally underrate the condition, so "very good" is more like "like new" and "like new" comes wrapped in plastic a lot of times. For $220 I couldn't pass it up.

I got my irons from their ebay site. We’re marked as very good and honestly might have had 5 rounds on them max.

Just bought 7 dozen 4A-graded golf balls at https://www.lostgolfballs.com/. Only $72 total, not bad.

Wanted to try out a few new balls, namely the Srixon Z Star and Q Star, the Bridgestone Tour BR X and e6 Speed, and the TaylorMade TP5. I added some ProV1 and Chrome Soft for good measure to get me to the free shipping amount.

Played yesterday. It was the worst outing of the year for me. Didn't make a single putt. I usually slice, but almost every drive I hit went WAY left. Brutal.

I had several items delivered over the last few days. My used, but in very good shape, Callaway Rogue driver was delivered. I'm very happy with the condition, would not hesitate to order from https://www.callawaygolfpreowned.com/ again.

Also had the order from https://www.lostgolfballs.com/ delivered. I was mostly happy with the order, though 2 balls (out of 6 dozen, they ran out of ProV1) were incorrect. One was a Chrome Soft X in the Chrome Soft bag. Not a big deal. The other was a TaylorMade Project (a) in the Bridgestone B RX dozen. That's a lot more annoying to me since the B RX were the balls I was most interested in, and the Project (a) ball is a tier lower in quality. But I'm not going to put up much of a stink over one ball.

I'd like to hit a simulator in the next couple weeks to test the new club and balls out. I do see many potential golf days the rest of December.

Weather was decent so I golfed on Sunday. It was a little soggy, but not terrible. Ended up shooting a 43 on the front 9, with consecutive birdies on 7 and 8. That was my first time shooting back-to-back birdies, so I was pretty happy with that. Also had a stretch of 4 1-putts. I believe I only had 13 putts on the front 9. Back 9 wasn't nearly as good overall, but I did putt well all day. Compared to my last round, which I mentioned a few posts above, this was an extremely enjoyable round.

Sounds like you are progressing (and addicted lol)...avoid double bogeys and 3 putts and you’ll be in the low-mid 80’s

So, I'm really excited for the golf trip to Vegas that I just won. I'm not 100% sure of the details, but I do know I'll be walking away with a set of Ben Hogan irons. Hopefully it'll be these:

I do love the Fort Worth irons, especially the black version, but I'm not sure I'd be able to hit them well enough.

Both of those sets require a sweet swing.  Not forgiving at all if you arent on the sweet spot.  The Ft. Worth clubs.......good luck in the rough with any of those irons.

Played with Tour blades for 20 years.  Dont play much anymore so I went to the Ping I3 to get some weight to them.  THose Ft. Worths are sweet though

They have these available as well. They aren't nearly as pretty as the PTx or Ft Worth's, but they are still nice looking clubs. I do know the PTx are more forgiving than the Ft Worth's, and my iron play isn't bad, so I think they would be okay for me. I do hope I have the opportunity to hit all three sets. Either way, I'm walking away with a free set of clubs so I'm not complaining.

Since the event's main sponsor is shaft company UST Mamiya, and they only do graphite shafts, it'll be interesting switching to graphite from steel. I'm hoping I'll also get fit for a new shaft for my driver.

I would love to play a whole summer with geaphite shafts to see how they are......for free obviously

Just bought a new putter. I got a good deal on a barely used Ping Sigma 2 Anser. I tested it out few times back in December and loved the feel. Saved about $60 over buying it brand new.

I love the fact that you can adjust the length between 32-36" inches. I can kinda dial it in for what works best, do some experimentation with it.

Lol and my Ping Zing 2 I bought in 1990 for $55....it will never not be my putter. No clue the length.

Bought a range finder at the golf show last weekend. Went with the local company (Precision Pro) and their model that does slope calculations. Got a hell of a deal on an open box directly from the company.

Probably getting a new hybrid as my Nike slingshot seems to be wearing out. Haven’t gotten to hit the simulators as much lately as work is a mess and I’m finalizing plans to move to Columbus so weekends have turned into a 48 hour sprint

Absolutely planning on scoring on one of those show deals at the Michigan Show in Novi as their resorts up north really do some killer offers. Me and my dad last time got Treetops for $100 a night with everything included!

Got a new Exotics CBx 3 wood for $50 at the Golf Works today. Hit it in their sim and was crushing the ball. Good news is I was already in the market for a new fairway.

How is that place? I know it’s reputable and one of the best places to go for components.  But I’ve never actually known someone to go. I need to have my irons reshafted, which I could do myself, but I’m too lazy. I’m just dreading the hour+ drive I have from Delaware.

It's a great little hidden gem in Newark. The staff are all incredibly friendly and you can always find great deals, as evidenced by my new club. Apparently the place that manufactures their club heads also makes Tour Edge, among others. They were sent the head by accident and were told to keep it. So they threw in a cheap shaft and I lucked into getting it for a huge discount.

Their clubs are no joke, either. Their irons are incredible and so much cheaper than the OEMs.

They have two simulator bays. One with a GC Quad and another with, I think, a Skytrak. And you can pretty much hit any club out on the floor if it's not wrapped in plastic.
