Glad the Chief canned him quickly. What an asshole.

These are really good points.  I cannot understand why more cops are not vocal in condemning this stuff.  Yes, it would violate that "blue line" crap.  But that is where we are and what's needed.  There are too many decent men and women in this profession to not have more of a movement from frontline cops condemning this stuff.

Whenever these incidents happen, I understand where the rage comes from (anger, not smashing property and stealing liquor).  But for the life of me, I cannot understand the lack of outrage in the black community when it comes to black-on-black crime and murder.  I just don't understand it and maybe I just never will.

I think black people are well aware of black-on-black crime and murder. I'm guessing they also know that black murderers will most likely be tried, convicted, and given a harsh sentence. Take a look at the prison population.

Can the same be said for cops who kill black men?

Apparently it's starting to get dicey in downtown Cincinnati.

The south side of Chicago is good evidence against your statement. I don’t know if you are right or wrong Nationally speaking. But most black on black murders in Chicago go unsolved and they are mostly allowed to “police themselves” with retaliation.

Heading down to the state house tomorrow at 10 am to peacefully protest if anyone wants to join. Gotta put my money where my mouth is

No one hates black in black crime more than black people. We absolutely talk about it among ourselves and there is a lot going on in communities that never gets covered. No reason to talk about it publicly sometimes I guess because we have to fix it ourselves, but honestly criminals are going to criminal, not a lot of power in the black community to do as much as you would think

The majority of black on black murders in the south side of Chicago are gang related. Cops investigate, people just won’t testify due to retaliation from the gang.

A lot of truth in this post.  I would be interested to hear your thoughts about the bolded.

Waiting for the outrage from those who always denounce destructive protest (except for the American Revolution, because reasons).

What a dipshit.  I'm so tired of people clamoring for needing to know what "led up to this."  The dude has been successfully detained.  I don't care if he's the second coming of Jack the Ripper.  Due process is due process.  What his crime might have been (we won't know now, since they're not going to charge a dead man) doesn't change the right to due process.

This is actually a great point that I don't see brought up enough.

@geeblock

I apologize if you have discussed this.  What are your thoughts/stance, and the AA community's thoughts/stance on the riots and looting in situations like this?  Specifically the rioting and looting of innocent businesses, etc.?  I don't ask that condescendingly.

The FBI successfully took down the 2 major cartels in Chicago a few years ago....unsurprisilingly that created a power void that resulted in a free-for-all among rising gangs.

Apparently some businesses had their front windows smashed in in OTR last night. At least one being a black-owned business. I hope that's the last of it here.

Every single person I know and everyone who is associated with groups like BLM are extremely upset that this is happening because it is used to discredit the real issue in this country. The real protesters yesterday in Columbus were out from 12-10pm.. the people out at night were rioters not protesters. There are so many people of all colors out there with so many different agendas from those who hate police, to those who just want to see things burn and even thieves. I went out today and walked with the March for 2 hours and it was completely peaceful and inspiring. I have been really upset about this the last week or so because I had my own bad experiences with traffic stops for no reason. This really filled my soul today seeing so many people show up. It was sooo many white people from so many backgrounds standing together with us. There have been a lot of these type of incidents and protests before but to me this one seems different. Hopefully some change will come
