I feel like I've seen Republicans shift left in good and bad ways.
On the bad side, while they still pay lip service, fewer seem as insistent on conservative tax policy. Gone are the days in which Republicans insisted that their own politicians be fiscally conservative, both in taxes and in spending.
On the good side, it seems like far fewer Republicans these days care which adults want to marry and touch each other's naughty bits or blaze up in their free time, so that's a plus.
As for Democrats, while it seems like the majority is also migrating further left, I have noticed some local pockets who are becoming more pro-2A and more distrustful of assistance programs, so that certainly makes them seem like they're headed right.

I never said dems didn't move left and repubs didn't move right.
I didn't say you did. You said repubs (which I admittely thought you said conservatives) have also moved more to the right. I am not denying that and also believe we could see a much further shift in years to come as a reaction to the lefts radical shit.
What I am asking is you followed that up with a "look at this site for example." I am wondering who you believe on this site has moved more to the right than they previously were (I assume in the last few years). I think most of the posters are the same, except the difference is this site has gotten smaller. This thread is no different than the "disgusted with obama" thread that was around for 6+ years. Maybe you're just sick of politics and need a break?

The bolded is completely inexcusable imo and why I stopped registering as a republican in 2012. I think this is a fair assessment, especially since the GOP is trying to put up a bill for OTC birth control pills. If you told me the GOP would be advocating about this 10 years ago I would have LOL'd. I think the GOP has realized they pretty much lost the millenials, and they don't want to fuck up on Gen Z. I will be interested to see if they try to legalize weed before 2020. I know a couple dems who are pro 2A (i.e. Manchin and the former KY Governor), but who is skeptical of the assitance programs?

If you can’t see it, then I’m not going to be able to convince you to open your eyes. Might as well just drop it (which I’m doing).

Another lazy/weak response, but sure I will drop it since you can't answer simple questions.

I think most people on here can be pretty flexible with most things. Probably all of us would like to see government become more fiscally responsible. Probably all of us don't really care what sex you are, what religion you are, what your skin color is or who you have sex with.
This thread is for those that have problems with the progressive/far left agenda. Forgotten are the days when people bitched about liberals. I for one would love to have more liberals to go back and forth with. But I think most "liberals" are just tired.
So instead society is dealing with the people who think with their color/sex/religion/bed partners and are demanding everybody else do the same. Not only is it quite bossy, but the public punishment for being contrarian to it has gotten people physically attacked such as their skulls being cracked open, shunned, fired, wolfpacked, banned from social media and in some extreme cases, dropped by banks. There is no redemption for heresy.
Sportsandlady, I can only suggest that you find some more people from the far left to sign up for this sight and try to explain to everybody else why they think the way they do and how it is a better way of thinking it. And even this isn't all that much of a significant suggestion. So perhaps the best thing for you to do is maybe argue against what you disagree with on your own. If you're tired of a lopsided conversation/thread that's probably the easiest thing to do. Pushing back can at least plant seeds. But in the meantime I don't think it's fair to expect people to change their minds for your sake (or at least pretend to) or hector them into silence. Otherwise you end up exactly where you're at right now and that is "dropping it".

Anecdotal vs factual statistics. It has been shown repeatedly that the left is going left at a much faster rate than the right is going right. You may not like the facts, but that doesn't mean they aren't true.
Did I say the right is shifting at a faster rate than the left?
Youre just making up shit.

So you agree with what people are saying, that the left has gone farther left than the right has gone right...
So you are basically now admitting to just being a troll on the political board. You agree but want to be obtuse/stir trouble anyway.
Classic jmog, calls people a troll when they come even remotely close to bashing repubs/the right. And yet you still claim you’re not a repub. Lmao
The original point I made was that the right is also getting further right. Whether they’re moving more or less than the left, I don’t really GAF about.
Now im done talking about it. It’s kinda pointless to come into a right wing cesspool and asking for you guys to admit that you’re heavily, heavily right winged.

I look at it this way: I can poke at AOC and Ilhan Omar all I want. Ohio didn't hire those two, so they can't really control much of what goes on there. But if you run for political office and win, you're going to be criticized.
Thing is, even liberals are criticizing those two, including... dare I say it... Nancy Pelosi? Her latest comment about their supporters was that had something like five lol!
Whoda thunk?

I've been giving this some thought, and I don't doubt that it's true, but I would be curious to hear examples. Maybe you're referring to the intensity with which positions are held, but I'm personally interested in hearing you articulate this a little more.
No intent to argue or criticize at all, I assure you. I only wish to hear more on what you mean.

You literally agreed with the basics that everyone else said but yet still felt the need to argue about it for some reason. That kind of is a troll.
If you pull up the Libertarian Party website and look at their platform, they list about 30 line items. I agree with 27 of them or 90%.
I do not agree with NEAR 90% of the republican platform, probably closer to 60% and even less for the stated democratic platform from 2016 POTUS elections (closer to about 30-40%).
So, please tell me again how I don't know myself and know that I am a libertarian. Pretty much the only items I agree with the republicans and not the libertarians is abortion and capital punishment.
Lol. Okay whatever you want to keep telling yourself.

I've seen about 3 blue checkmarks saying things like "The day Cher turned alt-right" - one of them being a lefty. There are actually many hot takes about her tweet, but isn't it actually a moderate position that she has?

The charity percentages from the dem tax returns are pretty funny too. Everybody’s taxes should help the poor, but I’m not gonna help with my own dollars. Clowns
