So I’m guessing you would concede that lots of racist people wear mags gear. Also non racist people wear mags gear. If I was a non racist and I know that many racist people wear it like a uniform, would I even take the chance knowing I am likely to be labeled a racist? That’s what goes thru my mind. Also I really ain’t taking the time to investigate. You can kick rocks. When I hear the phrase make America great all it makes me think of is let’s go back to when women and blacks couldn’t vote and blacks couldn’t eat at the lunch counter. I should add my gf sister and many members of her family voted for trump as they work in the coal industry, so I don’t think you are racist for voting for trump. Imagine being from rural Ohio or Pennsylvania and spending all your energy worried about an issue that will never affect your life like immigrants or the border
My father-in-law, arguably the nicest man I've ever met, has a MAGA hat that he wears from time to time. It's not because he's racist. It's just because he's proudly a Republican.
Frankly, his politics are, in my opinion, everything that is wrong with the American public's political milieu (Republican is automatically good, and Democrat is automatically bad, regardless of the actual issues), but there's a delineation between how he believes people should treat each other and what sorts of laws there should be. I'd wager that's the case with most people, though that doesn't mean they don't often line up.

Yea I said that actually. Just being honest about how uncomfortable it made me. And it wasn’t the hoodie that made me uncomfortable i see hoodies everyday. When someone says make America great again I have to wonder what year are they referring to? Any ideas? I also get that you may not be able to see things from my perspective

I wasn't going to give an anecdotal argument, but since you did I will too. I have a member of my family who loves Trump and wears MAGA hats all the time. He's white, but originates mortgages in low income housing areas in Dayton area. He's able to be transferred anywhere else for higher mortgage amounts, but says he loves working on getting mortgages approved for low income families (mostly black families) because he is actively trying to build the community back up. Not a racist bone in his body. But if gblock saw him wearing his stupid MAGA hat, he'd label him a racist. Lol unreal

I went to my gf’s family annual Xmas dinner this year. I’m rural Pennsylvania about 50 miles west of Pittsburgh. This was not just her usual family but it was her full extended family of about 50 or more people. We line up to get a family photo and I realize that the guy two people over from me has a bright red make America great again hoodie on. It was my gf cousin. I don’t know him, really have only met him maybe twice in the last six years. Whether or not he is a racist I have no idea but in these times we live in I have to assume that if this is your choice if clothing to the Xmas party of your whole family that you are trying to send some type of message. I will admit that I could not help but assume he was probably racist. I basically just avoided him. A few hours later he did take it off. There were two black guys there and we both felt the same way. It’s a shame that is the way things are but these days I will err in the side of caution in that situation and I probably will feel that way in every situation going forward if I don’t know you 🤷♂️
You could just grow up, act like an adult, try to speak to the guy, and find out that he probably isn't as bad as you think.

What does he love about trump?
Dude, I don't know. Trump is a moron, but there are still people that support him. They're morons. But that doesn't make them racist.

Who said anything about talking about politics? Again, you could have just grown up and try to have a regular conversation with the guy.

Are we really gonna pretend like maga gear isn’t the top choice of gear for racists? Lol gtfoh
What if Starbucks is the top choice of coffee for racists? Does that make it racist? What about the black people that wear MAGA hats? They racist too?
I’d imagine a large portion of people who wear MAGA shit do so to piss people off who get offended by such a stupid thing.

Ven diagram situation. Some racists wear MAGA shit. Some don't. Some who aren't racists* wear MAGA shit. Some don't.
*I'm of the opinion that we all have some racist inclinations, to whatever degree, because we live in, and are influenced by, a culture where it is present.

In my own opinion, MAGA could be meaning something like 5 years ago, before identity politics took such a big hold on so many people. Or it could mean let's remember blue collar workers again and not just oil and tech. It could reminiscent of when school (beyond k-12) wasn't so outrageously expensive. Anything really. Probably ask two different people and it would mean different things to them. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing a MAGA hat, I also wouldn't get neck tattoos or dye my hair green. Meh.
