I think this illustrates the problem.  If these are really happening, the media should be giving them coverage. The media knows they can't create division out of these events, so they are ignored.

It does get like 5 minutes on  the local channel 10 news but I agree it doesn’t get traction  cause it doesn’t bring ratings as far as if they are happening I can post the pics if necessary, they do a great job promoting in Facebook lol he events

There are literally events every weekend about ending gun violence in black communities in Columbus organized by black people there were walks in linden this weekend and an event yesterday at fairwood park. Another large event coming July 24, and a launch of a daytime basketball league that includes Columbus police. Let me know if you ever want to know about upcoming events

As I indicated, yes there are. Collectively across the black population however, there is not anything even close to the mass outrage there has been over George Floyd - not even close. God bless those in the communities who speak out or host basketball tournament. Unfortunately from a numbers perspective, they don't even approach the large scale outrage the police/black stories produce.

I’ve never been a fan of comparing criminal activity to police brutality they really should be two separate conversations. Seems like usually the only time anyone cares about black in black crime is to try to deflect ooff of some other convo, much in the same way that no one really cares about veterans until someone mentions helping the homeless. Then it’s immediately “what about the veterans!”

I'm not comparing criminal activity to police brutality. I'm comparing the widespread reactions of the black community to both issues.  One has caused mass outrage across the nation. The other, which is exponentially more serious a threat to the black community causes small pockets of community members to speak out.  I think a lot of people care about black on black crime because it has made large swaths of our urban centers uninhabitable.

Only thing I can tell u is that no one is more concerned about it more than black people. No matter what the narrative is

No one is saying you are wrong. But you can’t deny even the black community is WAY more outraged over police brutality than crime in inner cities.

And police brutality is FAR less a direct problem than inner city crime.

It would have been even better if they said "surveys show people feel 150% safer after buying a gun!"

That's the reason I carry concealed, so people will feel safe. Wait, that's not the reason I do so.

While those events are happening they are not drawing the same numbers the George Floyd protests had which is the problem.

I believe many black people are concerned. But not as many (or even close to as many) as are concerned about problems with the police. If they were, it wouldn't be happening like it is.

I don't doubt your concern personally whatsoever.

When BLM is mad at police, they shut down cities, burn, and loot everything possible.

When BLM is mad at gang violence, they play a basketball game at the playground.

How can you not see the equal outrage?

All the more reason we need police reform

Incorrect.  We need liberal reform.

It's going to be interesting if this NY Grand Jury over the Trump organization turns out to be another nothingburger.

Now this is according to Trump attorneys, but I'm going to assume it's not one of the stories Politico would run without fact-checking.

Apparently, the "high crimes" we may be down to are some Trump executives not claiming perks (like a company car) on their tax returns.  Technically, it is fraud, though not of any of Trump's doing.  It's also a pretty common thing that is very rarely prosecuted.

If that's accurate, it's pretty shocking.  Maybe the media has kind of learned their lesson and that's why they've pretty much kept their mouth shut since the grand jury was announced.

Fairly inconceivable to me, though, that you would bother bringing these charges if that's all you have.  Lawyers would throw out "probable cause" and "witch hunts" to claim the search & seizures were illegal.  Targeting friends, family and business associates of the guy IS something the brownshirts would do.  Or if they think they are going to "flip" anyone - at what point do you consider that maybe there is no dirt that you convinced yourself had to exist?

Trump has been looked more closely in the past 5 years that if they were going to find something to stick to him they would have already found it.

Yes, exactly the same logic used to prove the innocence of Lance Armstrong, Barry Bonds and Mark McGwire.

Although, I'd enjoy the media twisting themselves around to argue the petulant idiot that doesn't listen to anyone is a Lex Luther-level criminal mastermind to remain unscathed after 5+ years of this.

But, again, I have a hard time believing a criminal mastermind hires a guy like Cohen.

A few investigative reporters looking into pro athletes isn’t the same as the DOJ, half of Southern NY DA’s, the FBI and a few thousand others trying to dig up a nothing burger on DT.

Does anyone truly believe that someone who is going to commit a crime with a gun is going to have insurance?

I mean at the end of the day only those collectors and hunters will pay for the insurance and therefore no insurance payouts to victims of crime.

They are all bought and paid for by insurance companies or they are morons. No other options.

If that is what the Southern District of NY is down to --- going after the payroll clerk who did not add the imputed income for personal use of a company car or a parking per diem to an employees W-2, they are egregiously abusing the taxpayer and the legal system for hyper-partisan political purposes.  Screw them.

The ownership fees should go toward a million dollar award for each citizen who prevents a crime using a gun.
