Have you been watching any of the Kanye West saga play out? It's hilarious. Except for not all of it, unfortunately. Snoop Dogg's cousin apparently put a Crip hit out on Kanye:

A couple of hundred years ago when a slave escaped the plantation their masters called out the dogs and put a hit out.  I guess not much has changed.

LOL....yeah, it's very rather Trump of Kanye.

I'm shocked.  Who da thunk Kanye was an Uncle Tom?  I mean, when I joked about Kanye running in 2020 I always assumed it would be as a Democrat.

But wait, if he runs in 2020, and not as a Democrat, would he be opposing Trump in the primaries?

That would be funny. Trump makes sense even if he's goofy. Kanye can't get his thoughts in order enough to make sense in a common sort of way. You have to listen intently to figure out what he's trying to say. But he's still goofy in some ways.

Most of the festivities surrounding #CincodeMayo in the US are textbook examples of cultural appropriation, relegating the history and culture of Mexican people to novelty items. Mexican culture cannot be reduced to tacos, oversized sombreros and piñatas.

That should scare you, as social media groups let splc determine what are “hate” groups.

Reminder, cultural appropriation isn’t a thing. Bet the Mexican restaurant owners are ecstatic white people celebrate a made up holiday.

A new study found that 39 percent of "top-tier liberal arts colleges" in the United States don't have any Republicans on their faculties.

The study by the National Association of Scholars also found that the Democratic-to-Republican ratio was 10.4:1 among 8,688 Ph.D.-holding professors.

The ratio is 12.7:1 when two military colleges, West Point and Annapolis, are removed from the sample.

Yeah, let's pay $50k a year for a 'well-rounded' education.

Those numbers are kind of hard to believe, especially for PhD candidates (many of whom will go to the private sector, so there's no real pressure to support a certain agenda).

As for the faculty numbers, my guess is the Republicans are in the closet.  I don't doubt they're a small minority, but I think it's more the case that they just aren't registering or identifying as Republican in order to avoid issues with colleagues.

Or is the study trying to say that the average Democrat is better educated and have higher IQs? :b

You might be on to something.....smart Repubs - enterprising capitalists - trend toward the private sector.  The communist/liberals trend toward academia and public service.

A white ATF Officer was shot in the head yesterday in the south side of Chicago by a black man. The local news is on at my work and about 20 min into the start of it, they talked for about 30 seconds about it.

76 people were wounded in shootings last week alone in Chicago, including children, and 9 deaths. Blame ARs though, amirite?

Almost all gang violence confined to the worst neighborhoods.  I don't know if there's a lot of profiling going on, but pretty amazing when you consider how easy it is to move around Chicago.  Doesn't sound like it's truly "violent" in the sense that your typical B&E or mugging escalates to shooting, unless maybe in sketchier areas.  I think that's maybe always been true almost everywhere in the US - random, senseless shootings are rare and the vast majority are linked to gang/drug crime.

NY Times slamming Pompeo for being AWOL..........while he is busy bringing home hostages from N. Korea.

I agree with you on the NY Times stupidity.  The guy who wrote this story should be required to hold his own press conference and take questions on his research and methodology.  Dumbass.

Hard to believe people actually subscribe to this rag.

Yeah, there’s like 4 neighborhoods where the majority of the gang shootings happen. Everywhere else is pretty safe. Hell, last time I checked I live in one of the safest neighborhoods in America. I’m about 3.5 miles from all the gang shootings.

Some of the inner city violence news can lead to hysteria - as if the violence happens anywhere and everywhere within the limits of an entire metro area.  An example - my mother-in-law is going to come down to AL to visit.  I was arranging her flight and one option was to fly through Detroit.  She said, "Oh, I don't want to do that, Detroit is very violent city."  I stupidly said to her, "Don't worry, the glass windows in the airport terminal are bullet proof.  In fact, you can barely tell when a bullet hits one.  It just sounds like sort of a 'ping' noise."  She believed me and said, "Well I know the planes aren't bullet proof, so that's not helpful."  Now keep in mind this is a very old lady who is a widow and who watches Fox News round the clock, so she is afraid of just about everything.  But I did have to laugh a bit about this example.

Not my mom.  My mother-in-law.  She's not a Quaker; she's a little old lady.

I was trying to tell a humorous story about my mother-in-law.  I'm not sure what more there is to say about it.  Maybe it wasn't funny to anyone else.
