Can this get any more ridiculous?  They aren't really even hiding the fact this is nothing but a delay tactic.

50/50 she ever testifies.  But my money is going to be delay some more, than schedule something later next week....which will then be canceled for some reason....re-schedule a few weeks later....then demand an investigation based on something she said.

It's a good lesson in government. If you accuse someone of a crime, you get to tell the authorities how to run the investigation. I mistakenly thought the process first involved telling them your account of what happened.

It sounds like they've reached a "tentative deal". The only "tentative deal" the majority should have reached was to issue a subpoena.

The Republicans are pussies. There was no reason for it to be moved from Wed to Thursday other than it takes one week to announce a vote.

Btw, 4 of the people Ford named at the party (including Kavanaugh) have sent letters to the judiciary committee that they have 0 recollection of any such party. Pretty powerful statement when 4 of the people you name deny attending this party.  The latest person is Ford’s lifelong friend.  Letters sent to the judiciary committee are subject to criminal penalty if false.

No matter how credible she appears when testifying, it's pretty clear her memory of events is not reliable,

Her friend didn't even know Kavanaugh, which begs the question when Ford learned the name or how she remembered it.  Doesn't seem likely, to me, if that was the only time she met Kavanaugh to remember his and his friend's first and last names (especially with alcohol involved).

Every day this goes on I am more inclined to think that it is all false

Scheduled for Thursday. We’ll see if she shows up.

The Repubs are huge pussies for not just having the vote.

I think they have to have the hearing.  You have to make her answer some adversarial questions under oath, otherwise she'll just make the rounds to friendly media smearing Kavanaugh and Repubs.  Voters, especially women, need to see she had a fair hearing and that her recollection is not reliable.

Although the smart money is on a last minute cancellation.  Then Repubs can proceed with the vote, and Dems will scream bloody murder while this woman with a questionable memory will still never have made a public or formal accusation.  LMFAO if Dems take back the House and actually open an investigation on this matter.

#WhyIDidn'tReportIt is now trending.  Unreal, but another mess created by PMP.

What can you possibly say at this point?  The 4 witnesses (including Kavanaugh) she named all deny being at the party, let alone being around for the "incident."

So Kavanaugh is going to submit calendars from the summer of '82 that shows he was out of town most of that summer, along with some games and parties he attended.  Nothing matching Ford's description.  More and more this does sound like a case of mistaken identity

Someone is a pack rat....Who keeps a calendar in high school, and keeps it for 35 years?!?

Sweet, I hope this lady comes off as a liar and political hack.

I wonder what the play will be by the dems when RBG kicks the bucket during Trumps 2nd term?

I think the latest is your bought-and-paid for feminazi lie.  Guessing.

Ask him the questions and then hold the vote.  Of course Dems will continue to investigate - so if they can prove it, he can be impeached.  Really fucking simple.  We cannot block appointments based on allegations with absolutely no evidence or corroboration.  This is getting ridiculously absurd.

Nevermind corroboration, just more facts.  A guy flashing his junk at a college party is news?!?   Forget that this will disqualify 90% of men, an accusation alone shouldn't disqualify someone.

I don't know. I'm a bit conflicted now, with a second accuser. I'm still skeptical, but I'm also thinking that I was also skeptical of Bill Cosby until there was a handful of accusers. Where there is smoke there is usually a fire. What keeps me skeptical, still, is the fact that all of these accusations are extremely "hazy", no evidence and (most importantly) politically convenient.

At this point, though, I will say that there needs to be some admission somewhere, evidence of some sort besides an unnamed therapy session or an indifferent witness (in this second case, since we already know there is one in the first). I'm not sure what else can possibly be done to investigate this guy. He's been through how many FBI investigations already for previous positions? What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Should that be thrown out the window?

Meanwhile I can't help but guess that this will pull the shades down on at least some votes for the democrat party.

I think this is going to get more repubs out to vote than otherwise would have, bc they are head up with the dem charade. The wackos on the left who believe this were already going to vote.

Everything out about the second one is suspect. She asked multiple people who don't have any recollection of what she might have saw, and it took her 6 days of sitting with a lawyer to actually come up with that it COULD have been him. AND Ford's claims seem to be losing steam as well. What a shit show.

Did you read the article?  I am not sure how you could be conflicted.  In fact the more bullshit accusations come out (brace yourself for Avenatti to get in the mix), the more it dilutes Ford's original cliam.  Her accusation has less substance than Ford's.  You have her friends coming out (in this article) stating they have no fucking clue what she is talking, never heard he say a word about it, and suggest this could be politically motivated.  WAPO, NYT, CNN, and NBC all turned down this story.  If anything, it's a complete disgrace the New Yorker would roll with publishing this story.

I will say Ronan Farrow is batting a .1000 on these stories though...All those publications also passed on the CBS story of his too.

You think that given all the stories over the past year plus, people would pause before immediately calling any woman's story BS. I'm willing to believe any of the stories.

I also think it is a really, really bad look to have all the GOP older men basically dismissing any of the accusations immediately. Completely tone deaf.

Grassley has bent over backwards for Ford. And most polls show men and women alike don't believe the accuser. Without evidence I simply can't get behind "believe all women".

Grassley, ok sure. Hatch's and Mcconnell's comments were pretty tone deaf. Hatch saying she is confused was pretty damn bad.

Given that most high profile accusations have turned out true, I wouldn't dismiss the believe all women line of thinking....just saying...

Ronan Farrow and these stories have earned a lot of cred recently.

Yes, willing, because, again, these high profile stories have ended up being true. Therefore, I'm willing to listen and believe them because in the past, we easily dismissed them.

Sounds like Rod Rosenstein is resigning as Deputy AG.

Is it just that it's getting more press than in the past, or is there more of a revolving door under this presidential term?

Shiiit. Well, that is very interesting as now what happens at DOJ.

And yeah, nice observation in that under Obama or Bush, there was not this much turnover this early. Usually, the turnover occurs at least until after the midterm, and then really after a 1st term. (Assuming a 2nd term.)

Same question I asked CHS.  Did you read the article?  He completely makes the case against Ramirez.  Here are some highlights if not:

-It says they could not find a single witness that could put Kavanaugh at this party.

-It could not find a person who corroborates her story.

-The man who allegedly egged Kavanaugh on is vouching for him and does not recall any of this happening.

-One person that was allegedly there has already said she was not there.

-Ramirez admits that she contacted her friends and wasn't sure if it was Kavanaugh.

-Ramirez's "best friend" said Ramirez never mentioned this event and her accusations might be politically motivated.

-She wasn't even sure if her memory was correct, but all of a sudden 6 days with her lawyer she figured it out.

-She admits there are holes in her memory due to drinking (keep in mind this was 30 years ago).

-She never mentioned this to her friends until recently when Kavanaugh was nominated.

Just because you put Ronan's name on it, doesn't make it credible.  He put all of that into his article and yet somehow thought it was ok to publish the story.  There is a reason why several left leaning sources passed up on publishing this shit.  It's pure trash.

So far we have 2 allegations with around 12+ witnesses.  None of them corroborate with the accusers.  Very weak case.
