For my money, manowar is somewhat of a "living legend". For him to put as much time as he does into his website and become that knowledgeable about the history and content of his high school sports teams is, indeed, admirable. I have an enormous amount of respect for what he does and his love for Steubenville Big Red. Many of us share that same love, and we are blessed to have him on our "team". Perhaps you can become an "IC living legend". If that is your goal, have at it. But MOW is my man, and I (and most Stubbers) stand right behind him.

    ROLL RED ROLL!!!

I do know a few people close to the program, but getting CORRECT info out of a Big Red supporter is like playing with fire... You know half the time you are going to get burned because of the amount or liars involved.

Its ok MoW, you have a nice website, and thats about it.
Sometimes Big Red fans are misinformed, but we are not liars. Don't make comments like that.
Don't tell me what I can or cannot say... MoW has already verified that some of the things I brought up were not accurate and they came straight from the "HORSES" mouth...
I AM telling you what you can't say, and you can't call us liars. If you don't like it, get off the Big Red threads.
DO NOT say something like that to me again.
I AM saying this to you whether you like it or not. If you don't like our attitude, get off the Big Red threads.

SoS MoW, I think the best way to settle all of this is a good ol fashion game of Madden. You each can create your school and its players and then settle it on the "field". Broadcast it on justin.tv with audio so we can listen to you two go at each other and the winner gets to stay on the freehuddle and the other has to leave....you down?

If we can cut the bull and get back to Big Red football, let's talk about Brooke. Last year they had a good record but I would have liked to see them play us. What do they have coming back this year? And for that matter, what exactly do we have coming back? I know we have to fill a lot of spots.

I would be down for some Techmo Bowl, as I don't have the time to waste on learning these new games.

FW, Big Red returns a lot on both sides of the ball. Don't worry, we will be fine.

Brooke standouts include their RB, WR, and an Olinemen.

John Elway's Quarterback and I get Denver...

I want ED and the Colts.

To think they will not be competitive is naive.
Competitive? Absolutely. Remotely on par with last season? Nope.
  • ManO'War
You can't say that right now, since you don't know who will be on their roster come August.
  • MANAZE
ppsshhhh playing Tecmo Bowl? Give me Kosar!
  • Cha'DIch
Are you talking about Tecmo Bowl or Tecmo Super Bowl? Denver wasn't in the original, and the Colts were terrible. If it's Tecmo Super Bowl, it wouldn't be Kosar. It would be QB Browns!

They could be as good as last year. We'll just have to wait and see.

At least one thing is for sure-- they won't sneak up on us this time.

I was talking about "John Elway's Quarterback" You know, the game where there is a secret where Elway throws a 100 yd. TD pass every time he touches the ball? :D

I was talking about Techmo Super Bowl I guess...don't really remember the official title, but I used to always pick the Colts and run E.D. every play.

Another good game was Joe Montana's Football..it was for a PC, but you could change the rosters, uni's, and names. Me and my college roommate had Big Red (in all the uni combinations) and played out seasons vs all of the good Ohio teams.

Haha, Techmo, Bo Jackson was unstopable in that game.

I had Joe Montana's Football for my original SEGA. The graphics and sounds were HORRIBLE lol

Getting back to Big Red football, when will the ECOL make a decision? I heard it would be sometime this month. I just told my cousin who is a Dover alum. He hadn't heard anything about it.

Has anyone heard anything about the upgrades to the stadium?

Did EL decide they had had enough or something?
Apparently Liverpool dropped us. Considering how hard it has been these past few years for Big Red to get a schedule, I doubt seriously if we dropped them.
You don't think that maybe Big Red is loosing credit for as much as they talk a big game? Maybe that they have been sliding by on their coaching alone? Maybe they needed to make a statement to get the respect back? Face it... You ARE NOT the best team in the state, you "might" have been able to win D5 or D6 this last year... Sure your better than us, but where is your money? Your mouth is writing checks your players cant cash. You know what I would like to see? Big Red go 8-2 this year. You do that and you might earn my respect. Less than that and you can continue to schedule good teams that are down to make a name for yourselves... Man I would be proud of something like that... LOL
Right Massillon was down, Poland was down, Inkster was down, Woodland Hills was down ....cash that check boys!

This yr in 2K10 we have: Inkster STATE RUNNER-UP.
    Brooke STATE RUNNER-UP.
    Y-Town Ursuline 2008 & 2009 Div 5 STATE CHAMPIONS BACK2BACK beat Coldwater 55-25 and lost to Mooney 22-27.
Massillon STATE SEMI-FINALS lost to Glenville 17-31.
    Morgantown PLAYOFFS.
St Johns DC; lost to Kettering Archbishop Alter the 10th ranked team in the state of Ohio & 55th ranked team nationally 12-27. They also lost to DeMatha 7-37 ranked 2nd in DC & 84th nationally ranked. They lost to Good Council MD 10-22 51st nationally ranked & the number one ranked in MD. Lost to Gonzaga as well the 5th ranked team in DC which the big red played in 05' and 06'.

Buchtel Div2 Won the city series lost to Massillon, Harding & Ursuline to go 7-3 and missed the playoffs by 1.33% pts.

We play 5 teams that made the playoffs and out of those five; one was state champs; 2 were state runner-ups; and one was in the state semi-finals.

Yeah, I'm glad Reno schedules teams when their down. lol It's statements like that which makes you lose the little creditability you had and get the big red nation riled up on your creekster ass.

I'm glad we don't play you 4H'ers anymore. I hope we meet in the playoffs so we can run the score up to 60 again on you rednecks.

Did you see the score last year without Macon???? Do you REALLY think they would schedule them again? It was WAY TOO close!
Reno is satisfied if he wins by one point. I bet that every player on the team played in the EL game last year. That's why we are good year after year.
yea yea... heard it all before. Reno was not happy during that game because Big Red was getting BEAT by a team FAR LESS superior then they are... That game COULD have sent BR to the laughing stock of HS football if you lost it... Just be glad they didn't. It was much closer than Reno and all his ONE fingers can count.
33-14 half way through the 3rd Qtr we started substituting whole UNITS not players. Just like when we did with you creeksters. And yes that was with are 3rd string QB Anthony Pierro.lol
That's why you don't carry any creditability. You look at the final score and say crap like that. Our players get playing time unlike East Liverpool's they NEVER substituted. I don't blame them for that that coach is trying to build confidence in his team. But they were playing the JV's. And those are the facts! and I'm only counting with one finger. guess which one? you tool

Sure, some of the Ohio schools need to grow a pair and play Big Red... but at the same time, Big Red has to step up to the plate and actually sign a one and one deal with some teams and stop insisting everyone come to them every year; give the local schools a compelling reason to want to pursue a contract with you.

Nothing will change though, so screw it.
We've scheduled home@homes over the yrs. Let's see Massillon this yr. Poland last yr. We've played Ursuline, CCC, ASVSM, Warren Harding, Boardman to name ones off the top of my helmet.

So what It comes down to is ...let's see If I get what everyone is saying...Play 5 home games and 5 away games. And those away games need to be Glenville, Iggy, Solon, St X and Hilliard Davidson. And if we would win any of the away games it's because we scheduled them when they were going to be DOWN and we were LOADED.

I love being a big red fan

Our visitor locker room is the issue. Its to far from the field of play and inadequate. If we were to build a field house, we would be legit.
You'll NEVER be legit as long as it comes through Death Valley and Region 11.

A few years back Harding stadium went green. In continuing efforts to save the planet an extra home game was added to save the ozone layer.

Getting back to the schedule, does anyone from Steubenville ever take old Route 43 to Massillon any more? Back in my day, that was the only way to go to Massillon and Canton. It was rather long, but it was a very nice drive through the countryside when the trees were changing. We used to play at Massillon one year and at Canton the next, so we only had to make that drive once a year. I was in high school during the 1962-65 football seasons. The only other away games I recall making were to East Liverpool and Weirton, plus our home-and-home games against Warren Harding. Those were the days. I miss them.

The best game we played while I was in school was the 1962 game at Massillon. We beat them, and the whole town went crazy.
