Yeah..............I'm gonna get it laminated and play "Pin The Whiskers On The Walrus" when we play them. -
Mr. RussellThe injury to Alex Bates looks to be much worse than expected. He tore basically every ligament in his elbow, also cracking a bone and damaging some nerves. Damage to the inner and outer parts of the elbow, as well as the nerve damage could require surgery which would put his return this season for the Smithies very doubtful, and even making basketball questionable. Big blow to the Smithies, losing a big play threat and major player on both sides of the ball. It's ironic, Schrock's first freshman ever to start on both sides of the ball could miss his whole sophomore year.
-
1486wdsome rough injuries this year - heard T. Lint has to have more knee surgery and will likely miss the season
-
beverboy1he had surgery today talking about 3 to 4 wks
-
hipsledI actually thought that West Holmes Pic "Leatherheads" was awesome...........And NO I'm not from there!!! Rum i totally agree with you...but i just want to guarantee THIS WILL NOT BE SHROCK'S LAST YEAR...............No way will he let that totally ridiculous pic of him be the last thing everyone remembers........LMAO............................

mompovI will risk the wrath of the Plant followers. That was an old photo of Schrock or touched up. Just don't look that good in person. Kudos to Ram for knowing when to say when.
I predict they will soon return to a regular format for the preview. They are running out of good ideas.
Hillsdale always looks good on paper but something always seems to happen during the season and they just can't cut it.
As for my Dawgs - Dalton is over rated - I plead the 1beast - it's a rebuilding year.
Believe it or not I have a fan who asked me when I was gonna start posting. Busy summer gettin' the boy ready for college and gettin' a job to pay for it! -
Mr. RussellSchrock is going out in 3 years. Most likely along with Hardman/Saris/Sayre. That's a fact jack.
-
hipsledIT"S GONNA BE A PERFECT NIGHT FOR FOOTBALL.....STRETCH GOOD TONIGHT BOYS.........TIME TO PLAY SOME FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
1486wdbeverboy, I hope your info is better than mine (I was told 3-4 months). Would be great to have him back for league play.
One thing I do have to say is, I was very surprised they had the huskies picked as low as they did. Not sure if that was a function of mckean being hurt or what. They finished the year strong and return a lot. -
thePITmanCrap. I just told my boss (a BIG Dalton fan) that I heard 3-4 WEEKS. Hmm... I hope I don't get fired!
-
1486wddon't worry yet pitman, my info may have been wromg (i Hope!)
-
Havin FunThe Daily Record predictions are about as valid as a newborn predicting when the world will end. There is no way NW will finish below #3. I am not a fan but having seen them play late last year they return way too much not to be in the top 3. Anyone who does not know that does not know WCAL football very well.
-
THE4RINGZI do believe McKean's injury has some people questioning NWN's season, at least early on. But I also believe NWN is in the mix for the championship. I predicted them to win it all over on the OP, and will stick by that. I saw them scrimmage, and they looked good. That defense is going to win more than a couple of games for them.
I also see Dalton in the mix, maybe Smithville and I don't have a solid grasp on Norwayne yet but maybe the Bobcats will be in it.
Regardless it is the WCAL and we won't know who wins it until ten weeks from tonight. And that is the way WCAL fans like it!!!! -
Mike PlantThe point totals in our WCAL voting were very close, only a few points between 3rd and 6th, with Hillsdale edging Dalton for preseason No. 1.
In the interest of full disclosure, my ballot went: 1: Hillsdale, 2: Norwayne 3: Northwestern 4: Dalton 5. Smithville 6. Waynedale 7. Rittman 8. Chippewa.
Nothing would surprise me, and the non-league has some great matchups as well. -

Whatever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
thePITmanWelcome to the OC, Mike!
-
THE4RINGZI just don't see Hillsdale being at the top.
-
Havin FunI don't see Hillsdale in the top 3 but then again, that is why they play the games! Good luck to all league teams tonight.
-
dhs22pEverybody has a right to their own opinion. I remember last year when the DR picked they talked about Waynedale winning it (WCAL) the previous year so that why they picked them first. This year why does the same reasoning apply? Regardless the Dogs will just settle this on the field like we always do.
-
Red RumI just can't call Hillsdale a preseason favorite until they prove they can run the gauntlet. The last few years they have been close but haven't been able to close the deal. Until they do...they're just Hillsdale, the team without a title.
As far as the WCAL race...it's wide open, everyone has some issue.
Dalton is thin
Northwestern is small
Waynedale is young
etc,etc,etc
It's gonna be another exciting season. I'd love to see the Wcal go 16-8 or better out of conference, but I'm not betting on it.
Does it look to anyone else like Art Holden is giving the kid from Chippewa a DUI test? (page E3 in the preview)
Now thats what I call the total package, write about em' during the game, write em' up after the game. -
1_beastHey Hey hey!!!! Never Fear ....BEAST is here!!! lol
Mompov...that sandbaggin wont carry much weight
Good Luck to everyone in this 2010 season....My Bears are young but hopefully Z has them prepared as we travel to TV to begin the journey!!!
GO BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
THE4RINGZ1_Beast why does Waynedale even have a team this year?
-
thePITmanTHE4RINGZ;463704 wrote:1_Beast why does Waynedale even have a team this year?
Other teams have to get wins somehow, right? -
Mike Plantwait, I had the wrong ballot ... mine was actually an eight-way tie for first
-
1_beast4Ringz....just putting some kids on the field, EVERYBODY wins! We are handing out participation trophies this year! Isnt that how Triway has handled awards in the past?
