Cardinal Mooney def. Poland 24-7

  Why in the world are there moderators if they are not going to sit SQCrazies & Tank2Nasty for a day or two after reading these two tools go at it about everything except for the game between Mooney & Poland.
  
  It is bad enough how poluted the Big Red threads get with our own but why you would bring Big Red talk into this thread until late Friday is beyond me. Why don't the two of you start your own thread about how you wish you had even a clue of what went on in any successful program.
  
  Start a thread titled Salem/Big Red the postgame & knock each others families, way of life, dirt in the gutters etc. but stay off of this thread. I came on here to see how this thing exploded into 10 pages & its you two shank-a-podimuses slamming each other.

  I agree Howdy, nice post. We should all take note. One correction though, there are only 3 kids out of 66 on the football team from Poland (Holy Family) and none are starters. Holy Family doesn't send as many kids to Mooney as they once did.

  To be honest, this isn't va-JJ's, and while that certainly was annoying, I don't think we need to be gestapos on this site. Also, I'd rather have some stupid banter about recruiting than the BS on va-JJ's where the game threads might as well be a cheerleading forum.

  I totally get what you're saying. I never understood why so many people would flip out when a thread migrated to a different topic, because almost EVERYTIME someone would try to go back on topic and the thread would basically die. And then you get what you're saying, Go Mooney! Go Poland! Back and forth...yipee!

  Mooney44cards.....If you read through these 11 pages though, there really is very little analysis about the game. I've tried to talk numerous times about weaknesses of each team, strengths, areas to exploit, and strategy, but all I get in return is who can piss further than the rest. I think this is a great site, but i've yet to see any true talk about the "game" of football like I used to see over on JJhuddle. Now we just need to try to keep everyone else on topic

  I didn't venture out onto other threads much on the huddle. I tried to stay on the Poland threads so that I didn't piss too much of my time away. I rarely saw the Poland threads go off topic mainly because Radcard and Panama watched it like hawks. I'm just not used to reading 10 pages of bickering and nothing relating to the young men on the field. Granted, your arguments have been entertaining, but I was looking forward to some football talk and have yet to see it.

  I tried talking about the game too, but what else is there to say? Mooney is slightly banged up but unless Poland suddenly gets the offensive line of the New England Patriots, Reardon is gonna have a nightmare of a night. The Mooney offense vs. Poland defense should be easily won by Mooney. The other matchup is the key for Poland. If they can score on Mooney's D they could make a game of it early, but even if they move the ball in the first half, Stoops makes some serious halftime defensive adjustments. I just can't see any scenario where Poland is able to consistently move the ball enough to outscore Mooney's offense. Poland better pray for some Mooney mistakes and capitalize on some turnovers, they will need all the points and field position they can get. Maybe I'm wrong and it'll be a nail-biter (I hope not, cuz I can't go and I don't wanna say I missed that good of a game) but I'm thinkin 42-10.

  Early in the year Mooney had a problem holding onto the ball, but did much better the second half of the season. I believe if they can hold onto the ball then they should be able to run on the Poland defense, just too many weapons on offense especially with Zordich throwing more. Mooney may not throw much but the complete better than 50% so if Poland wants to put 9 in the box we could see Zordich have a big game passing.

  Poland will have to hit early and often!
  Wollet will have to lead this D in stopping the running attack of Mooney.
  If able to force third & 4 Poland's chances dramatically increase!
  You have to make Mooney beat you with the pass! Poland has a very talented secondary they will play a big factor! If Poland can score early they have a good shot at pulling out the upset!
  Mooney will need to avoid TO's ,they will need to be cautious of trick plays and onside kicks.
  If Mooney can establish the run and score early this game can get ugly. Mooney is the best in the state at maintaining a lead!
  Braylon Heard will be Mooney's biggest factor defensively and offensively!
  If he has a big game Mooney wins!
  This is the most interesting match up of the night!
  Here's to a hard fought injury free match up of my two favorite non Ohio Valley schools!
  My prediction is
  Mooney 28
  Poland 14
  Barring any key mistakes! Though I believe if Poland can execute to perfection (which I've seen them do it can easily be 17-14 the other way!

  If Reardon gets time it could make it close, but I just don't think Poland will be able to keep the rush off him. This team seems to be on a mission and I don't know if they can be stopped. The matchup I look forward to is Heard playing a little bump and run on Patton.

  What a joke. Is that why in recent years you've played awful Wilson teams (1-9, 0-10, etc.)? THAT's competition?! How bout playing other private schools like Ursuline? Or far away private schools like CCC or Kettering Alter? CANADIAN SCHOOLS?!! THAT's the competiton you're talking about?

  I think the one thing that Poland will have to their advantage in this game and might keep it respectful, is their defense. This unit has received very little credit this season and are phenomenal at stopping the run. They have been susceptible to deep passes occassionally, but I don't foresee that being a major threat against Mooney. If they can come out and minimize Mooney's rushing attack, which I believe they will do to some extent, I feel that they will hang in there. On the offensive side of the ball, I see very little opportunity for the Dogs to move the football. Their run will get stuffed early and often, similarly to how the Canfield Cardinals completely shut down Poland's rushing attack in week 10. This will turn Poland one-dimensional and the game will rely on Poland's offensive line in pass protection. This unit has been susceptible to many sacks this season and I see no reason for that to change tonight. I still feel that Poland should abandon the traditional run and pass and revert to the wildcat with Patton in the shotgun and Wollet at his side. I feel that this misdirection approach is the only way they have a chance to keep Mooney's defense honest and slow down their tenacious pressure. Let's put it this way, a lot needs to go right for Poland to win this game. I'm still looking forward to coming home and seeing these two great Mahoning Valley powers meet up. It looks to be a beautiful night, 10% chance of rain and temps in the mid 40's throughout the night. Not much beats Northeastern Ohio football

  Ursuline is super overrated and I've seen all 3 teams play and Ursuline would be embarrassed by Poland!
