Orrville football 2014

Go Falcons
Loudonville earned more computer points than anyone in Division VI. They would have hosted a playoff game in every Division V region (meaning they would've finished top four in each of those regions), and hosted a game in three of the four regions in Divisions II, III and IV. Also, the Redbirds would've made the playoffs in one of the two Division I regions.jaco;1670861 wrote:I see you have a case of small school bias. Orrville's best teams in the past decade never won the OCC. Let's not get uppity. Loudonville is a D6 school. They'd do okay, but win it? No. Lexington and Clear Fork aren't good, but they aren't Willard and Lucas - whoever those guys are. Wooster currently has a Division 1 athlete playing for them at WR and DB. Playing with the big boys with speed is another game. I don't think Loudonville gets through Wooster, Mansfield, Madison, Ashland and West Holmes with fewer than two losses. -
thePITmanI really think Loudonville would have won the OCC going away this year.
-
CCRollyAre you taking the Redbirds over the Titans also?
-
rrfanI am not sure anyone thinks Loudonville is not a good team...how did we get so off track?

I think Orrvilles future is tied to Loudonvilles, if they do try to leave the OCC. It may involve the WCAL, MBC or a new League but both schools need a new home.rrfan;1670962 wrote:I am not sure anyone thinks Loudonville is not a good team...how did we get so off track?
Bad thing about the WCAL is that soccer has faltered some, giving Orrville a good footing. -

Old RiderI posted this on the WCAL thread but thought it should be shared here as well. Saw numbers that indicated that this football season we had 93 kids playing in grades 5th-8th. Those are good numbers and if we can just keep 3/4 of those that's 70 kids playing high school football soon.
It's coming around...be patient!! -

What was that RRN about this time next week?Red Rider Nation;1669790 wrote:Please don't include me or my name in association with what you saw last night! I'm better than that!! Kudos for your optimism, but I'd caution you.. youth numbers rarely have any connection to high school turn out. You're lucky to keep half those kids engaged. Heck, 25-33% is often best case. But you're right, it starts in the youth program for sure.Old Rider;1671950 wrote:I posted this on the WCAL thread but thought it should be shared here as well. And a word on a possible WCAL move. What I saw last night was three local teams who skated through relatively easy regular season schedules struggle in the playoffs. The WCAL co-champ got mercy ruled, for crying out loud. Chippewa's season will end tonight. You might be better off staying where you're at now that I think about it. Triway only played two teams this season who finished about .500. They laid a major egg in that first half against a poor Galion team. Loudonville, the same. A one seed winning 28-14 over an 8 seed? I think I'd rather have a meat grinder schedule and be ready for the post season than a "feel good" regular season schedule that just gives you a false sense of achievement. -

Well to be fair getting stuck with Kirkland and Coldwater aren't exactly easy 1st round games. I think Triway would have a tougher time with both of those teams than Galion. But thats just me...jaco;1672074 wrote:Kudos for your optimism, but I'd caution you.. youth numbers rarely have any connection to high school turn out. You're lucky to keep half those kids engaged. RiderwannabeÀnd Triway will be done in round 2
-
pigskin13Orrville just needs to wait until Indian Valley and Tusky Valley leave the PAC.
The PAC will be begging Orrville and Northwest to join shortly there after. -

I might be careful about trying to predict games. Chances are, if you're wrong, you'll sound like you have sour grapes, and at least one person will make sure to point out how wrong you were.Riderwannabe;1672130 wrote:Ànd Triway will be done in round 2

Isnt there a Wooster thread somewhere you can go?? Oh wait NO! There isn't!gowoo;1672201 wrote:O-trap - I only did that because it was RRN. The other Orrville posters on here are top notch.
congrats on the win is it your first ever playoff win?? You played a soft team next week will be different!! And who cares if you lose in Round 1 or Round 2 you are still going to lose!! -
CCRollyWe're all a little dumber every time you post. Wish they'd end the rivalry so you could battle someone you could compete with better, like Rittman.

And a playoff team is a playoff team. Nobody's THAT soft in the playoffs.
And maybe they will lose next week, but this just sounds like sour grapes or something. Cheer up. Riders had a tough year, but things will change. Just give it time. -
CCRollyO-Trap, props to you. Most Orrville posters on here know I support them all the time, except against Woo.

rrfanI think most Orrville fans wanted to see Wooster Win a playoff game. I know that I did. I hope they win next week too. I don't know a lot of the players on that team but Dyson did play a year in Orrville and even though I would have loved for him to stay at Orrville I wish nothing but the best to that kid. Good Luck next week Woo and that is from an Orrville Fan...
Don't judge Orrville on RRN...that is bad for everyone. -

We played 4 playoff teams this year. Almost a 5th in West Holmes.
For as "down" as the OCC and our schedule was, to have 4 and almost 5 opponents make it to week 11 is pretty good.
Loudonville found out a lot about themselves last week, and will need to play very well to beat Mogadore. -

According to numbers shared with me....this year's junior class of 6 had 29 kids playing 7th grade football. That's losing 80%.jaco;1672074 wrote:Kudos for your optimism, but I'd caution you.. youth numbers rarely have any connection to high school turn out. You're lucky to keep half those kids engaged. This year's seniors had 25 in 7th grade....and 11 this year.
So 50% is a starting point it seems if you want to guess on how many kids will be left from 7th to 12th grade.
We need 15 per class in a town the size of ours (a shrinking town remember) to compete. You put 40-45 kids from 10th - 12th grade in pads, and I'll go to battle with that. Less than that and it's just not enough for coaches to work with most years. You can't go 11 on 11 (legit) in practice and don't have the depth to absorb injuries. -
Red Rider NationJason Hall out as Massillons coach! See what happens when you don't win in a football town?? You go! Until Orrville gets on board with this you will continue to see the same results. It doesn't take much to figure that out!! Numbers this and numbers that win or go!!!

CCRollyWe should use the same type of formula here. If you're a moron or idiot...which you are both, trust me...you shouldn't be allowed to post and spew your negativity and nonsense.
