Orrville football 2014

sanitizerRRN may or may not be a lot of things but you can't say he isn't passionate.
It takes all kinds fellas! The fact that not one single person on this thread is OK with how things look during this time is a true reflection of what we have all become accustomed to. And THAT is why I remain faithful that it won't last. In our little town it just can't. Give em hell tonight Riders! Win lose or draw, on Saturday they should know they played a game!
Good Luck! -

Its never been 10 straight!CCRolly;1662378 wrote:RRN, if you have what it takes to turn the Orrville program around, why aren't you lining up any other coaching positions? Are you going to bring your Madden playbook with you? Being a Wooster fan, I can only wish you would take over that program so we could whoop you another 10 straight years. -

A personal reason?? Really? Crawl out of your hole. I don't know the guy personally! It's football something you obviously know ZERO about. Get back to your video gamesrrfan;1662362 wrote:First thing...I don't need your money. Second, the only fat mouth on here is you. You want to fire a coach and you say you have the answers so show up to practice and share. The reason that you won't is because you know that coaching is not the problem! You want to fire a coach for a personal reason not a football one. Also you are probably a Never Was and would not know the first thing about coaching/or playing. -

I've never played Madden but trust me I am positive that the Madden playbook is better than Orrville'sCCRolly;1662378 wrote:RRN, if you have what it takes to turn the Orrville program around, why aren't you lining up any other coaching positions? CCRollyTrust me, I'm confident your an idiot and shouldn't be patrolling any sidelines.

sanitizerWell, you can only get really upset about the outcome of something if you actually care about it. Weather the parties agree or not, the passion is what KEEPS me believing that we will get through this tough time!
Be above the personal attacks fellas, just comes off REALLY lame on an anonymous blogging site. At the end of the day we all want the same thing. And we have more in common when you think about it, we just disagree on the "how". -

No trust me YOU have no idea who I am! I promise you that!!rrfan;1663012 wrote:I do know who you are and you are an idiot.
I don't know you either and could really care less of who you are! You are probably one of those d-bags that thought you were so great in football and now you have all the answers! Well it's neither! -

RedRider1Heard we're down in the 20's in terms of healthy kids going into the last few weeks.
Couple of 2-way starters out with injury. Key kids too.
Last few weeks will be tough but all we can do is support the kids who are out there. -

Shoot if they only had RRN to give them the discipline they need to win.RedRider1;1663663 wrote:Heard we're down in the 20's in terms of healthy kids going into the last few weeks.

Good luck Men! Enjoy the games because once they are gone and you graduate most likely you will never play again. You will miss it. -
Old RiderI never would have imagined that Orrville football would be in this situation. I think the whole program needs to be reevaluated at the end of the season by the AD, Supt, coaching staff, community members...all in one big pow wow open to the public. Inform the people that have no clue what REALLY is going on and lets make this a TEAM effort to get our program back to what we all expect it to be!
Next year WILL be worse than this year in terms of participation. We have about 10-12 kids combined in the current soph and jr class. Numbers are better in the middle school grades, but who knows if all those kids will continue to play when they get to high school?
Its sad!! Unfortunately, I find it VERY hard to go to the games to support this team. It has nothing to do with the coaches or the players...its just simply hard to watch the Red Riders get throttled and look like a JV team at best. The coaches are being forced to play kids that are not ready! We have kids starting that shouldn't even be playing on special teams!!
Its an attitude and a mindset that we can win....and our kids just don't have it! -
Old RiderAnother thing....can we get some new football uniforms? Look sloppy = play sloppy. Our uniforms are very dated and boring. Lets add some all whites and all blacks, along with all new all reds. Script ORRVILLE or RED RIDERS across the front. Maybe even a new helmet...same stripes w/flat black.
Heard Terry Bowden the other night say that "for some reason kids these days play inspired football simply with a uniform change". He was referring to the Zips win while choosing to wear the all chrome helmet against Miami of Ohio. He said, "Not sure why it takes a uniform to make you play inspired, but kids these days are into that stuff. Look the part and I guess you will play the part"!
I doubt new uniforms would equate to any more wins for the Riders, but we could use a change and maybe it inspires some of the current players and the younger ones coming up thru the system!! Just my thoughts... -
RedRider1I'm all for anything that gets the kids excited. I like the community pow-wow idea too. Let's put it all on the table. But don't show up if you're not willing get involved. Maybe a "football dads" group is needed to help facilitate these ideas and get things done.
Things like sprucing up the helmets before games, cleaning up the stadium before the season, fundraising for things not provided in the football budget, organizing the youth teams to make a tunnel for the varsity kids to run through on game nights, team cookouts, running a summer football camp with the help of some alumni & coaches.
And save the "if you need new uniforms to get excited...blah blah blah" comment. Go to YouTube and search for videos where coaches reveal new uniforms to a college team in a meeting. The kids lose their minds....don't tell me it doesn't excite the kids of today.
I'm no fan of purple, but Triway's new uniforms look SHARP. Somehow they can afford it (and pretty much every other area team) but we're stuck with 20 year old pants. -
jacoI'd like to know where the heck these kids go. All of these classes had 20+ kids on their junior high squads. What motivates 80% of the kids to just quit the sport?

Its too hard?? Tired of getting pounded in our league?? Don't want to play for Davault??jaco;1663966 wrote:I'd like to know where the heck these kids go. All of these classes had 20+ kids on their junior high squads. What motivates 80% of the kids to just quit the sport? -
CCRollyUnfortunately, they would probably be getting pounded in most leagues. Getting out of the OCC may help, but you won't come close to contending in most any league at this time.

Old Rider
Talking about the middle schoolers not the high school team. Jaco asked where all the kids go when they have 20+ in each class playing in the middle school.CCRolly;1664046 wrote:Unfortunately, they would probably be getting pounded in most leagues. The kids get tired of getting pounded in the middle school and then don't play in high school. -

Count me in the blah blah blah group. Although I am not against new uniforms but you could put this team in a new Nike or under armor uni and they still get beat by a ton.RedRider1;1663697 wrote:I'm all for anything that gets the kids excited. Maybe just for a little bi of time. Not sure how much it gets them into the weight and film room though. Ultimately the talent/coaching win out though.
..and out poor little team still sports rawlings uniforms. Oh the humanity! -
