Lets talk about Mo for a minute. He had teams with as much talent or more than anyone! Yet he did not coach well in the big games!
At least he could get to the big game!

Mo's forte was motivator and having good assistants. The list is impressive of the people that were at this program and went on to be successful at many levels. Zook, Packard, Mc Daniels, Ramsey etc.

Its amazing how fast the fan train can get off the tracks in Orrville, my goodness you have a 500 team after you only won two games last year. I will say one thing, after seeing Clear Fork for the first time last week at Ashland, they are the most impressive team I have seen outside of Mansfield this year. Their offense has some very good weapons. Their one weakness is their Qb plays every play offense, defense and special teams. I didn't think he was going to get off the turf a few times at the end of the Ashland game. If you get to him early and wear him out you have a chance, if not he will run all over the place.

Some were getting nervous after a 4-0 start...it was almost too quiet here. Can't run your mouth & hate on the team when they're winning....

They're just making up for lost time.

Or the team gets bad and some stop going to games but still act as if they have all the answers!

So you argument is that it was okay for Mo but not for Davault to have talent and not win? Oh makes perfect sense now. Did you play football? If so who was your coach? I only ask because you seem to have a grudge against Davault but I get the feeling you are older so if you played you would not have played for him. If I had to guess you never played.
  • RedRider1
You expect us to believe that if Davault led a team to a state runner up finish you'd be happy? LOL. That's hilarious.

Your standard is awful high..especially coming off a 1 win season. You're a smart guy..you saw what was coming back..and what left via transfer...most people though 4-6 wins was where this team would be. Some said only 2 wins and we've doubled that. Did you think otherwise? If so, I truly question your intelligence.

Sure we all want them to go 10-0, but that hasn't happened since 1995..may never happen again as long as we play this schedule.

6 wins over Wooster & 8 playoff wins in his 8 years here. That's not bad & you know it.

How has Northwest & Jackson done in the last 8 years? Go root for them if our program angers you so much and if our coach is such a horrible failure. I'm sure they'd love your support.

    Guys,

I think we can be passionate without being personal.

RRN, my earlier post was only in reference to getting athletes to the next level, nothing more. I can’t critique coach Devault without a lot more footage. And even then I have not received a call from the patriots to fill in for Bill so my opinion probably adds up to a hill of beans! LOL.
I can also say for the record, that my game time motivation or “fire” was fed by most of the assistant coaches and never came from coach Mac. And I don’t say that with a negative connotation towards coach Mac, it just didn’t seem to be his “thing”. The position coaches like, Moyer, Burk, Curtis, Costello, VODIKA!!! Those are the guys that challenged me everyday at practice and on Friday nights had me ready to walk through fire with and for my team. You can judge any leader by the opinion of his soldiers (or staff). I have had the opportunity to talk with a few assistance both past and present that have worked with coach Devault and they all speak very highly of his passion and character. The one thing that hurt the Ville was getting a 4 and 0 start to the season. This great start to the season redefined the “expectations” of a lot of people and now the reality of what Orrville has is starting to show and it hurts. The Ville does not handle loosing very well and won’t tolerate it for long. If Devault is not the man for the job those things have a way of taking care of themselves, especially in a town like Orrville. I am a pretty big fan of occam’s razor….. What I mean is this just might be a slump and we are not that good right now. The Orrville faithful may have to ride out. We have had slumps before. I was on a team one year that didn’t win many games and by mid season the Jr. High had more attendance than the varsity. Winning heals all fellas. I know there are some young kids getting some serious PT and over the long run that has proven to be a good thing in years to come.

P.S.- I love you ALL…… LOL, I just thought the thread could use a little love!

All 3 saw plenty of PT last year...and in 2 of the 3 transfers, it was outside forces that caused their transfer, not any dissatisfaction with the Orrville program.....
Perhaps the goal wasn't to be a two-way starter, perhaps it was...it doesn't matter anymore now!
Dyson did see plenty of PT, In my opinion, he should have seen more! Orrville was better at running than passing, but Davault apparently either didn't know it or refused to accept it...it doesn't matter anymore now!
    Kayron...see Dyson^^^!

If they're gone because of outside forces...it doesn't matter anymore now!

Good! That is by far the best and most truthful thing you've said on here! I actually hope that your dislike for me keeps you stewing all-day and all-night!
rrfan;1521696 wrote:...Although I already knew all the stats on your son at least you got to put them out there....
I put it out there because you either didn't know (lying again), or you did and you were trying to smear his name because you "don't like me"! Either way is fine, every time you open your mouth, there is a level of untruth and plain stupidity being spewed! Not to worry however, I do love you despite all your poor conditions!
rrfan;1521696 wrote:I also would love for you to clarify something for me...Is it the football coaches responsibility to keep 40-50 kids from getting into trouble or is it the parents? I do think even you and I can agree on this. Problem is the parents aren't doing there job and then expect a coach who really has no power to punish the athletes in any way but to sit them. Same parents would complain that a coach is unfair if he made them run or do any physical punishment. Society is soft because of parents like that. I am agreeing with you Series mark it down! That is actually twice in one post.
Clarification??? Because I love you...why surely I can! You see, here is where you need to think about all your previous comments before shoving your foot into your stupid mouth!

Is the coach responsible for 40-50 "kids"? By some of your own comments and in agreement with those of others, the coach is responsible for turning them into "men" and teaching them to be socially responsible. Were those lies?

Are you really so stupid as to suggest out of the 40-50 students on the football team that all of the parents of all those students are lax in their parental responsibility? I seriously do not agree with you on that!

I honestly know and believe that that is the parents responsibility and I'm sure that a great majority of those 40-50 kids were/are taught that and were/are obedient to their parents. Those students that got into trouble with the drinking, etc., were part and partial the same students on more than one occasion and were among those that confessed their "respect" for Coach Davault, their "mentor"! Which parents in particular and whatever the subject of their complaints to Coach Davault do you speak of? You're the only one that seems to have the inside track on that.

"Society is soft"...I'm beginning to think that the "society" you speak of emanates from your parents!

    "Lie-On" fella, "Lie-On"!

i can't speak for Northwest as I have no ties there. I reside in Jackson and my wife is really good friends with the coach (Balderson) as they attended Marlington High School together so I keep tabs on them. Beau is a coach who gets the most out of his players! He has Jackson positioned to go to the playoffs. I support that program through fundraisers. As for Orrville the program doesn't make me angry. I don't and wont live my life around Orrville football. Just wish they had a coach that could get the most out of its players. Like I have said before I could care less if they win. It's the fact that Orrville plays with zero desire and zero energy and NOBODY with half a brain could say they are better as a team now then they were week 1 and as I have said time and time before that should be the expectation regardless of talent from any fan or supporter and we have played out this chapter of this book before in the Ville.

Aren't you supposed to discipline rr1 for the use of profanity, or does he get a "bye" because he advertises his blog on here? LOL!
I didn't read any profanity (or at least didn't notice it). I don't do thread searches for profane words or anything.

Also, as a general rule, if it's incidental or infrequent, I usually just edit it out myself to keep anyone from getting in trouble.

Dude, you might want to re-phrase that one. "Perhaps" to "...so I keep good tabs on HIS TEAM". :-)

oh.....one more thing.....it's "I couldn't care less". If it was "I could care less", that means that you COULD actually care less.

Rittman administration doesn't comment about acts of discipline to students or Teachers. Acts of bullying are not taken lightly these days. Every student knows thru programs for administrators, teachers and students that it won't be tolerated. Freedom of speech doesn't mean you can be a bully, call in a threat to the school, talk about shooting someone. Maybe their lawyer will change that by suing. Doesn't mean he's right. In the old days my Dad would of kicked my tail as soon as I got home and made me apologize.

And I could care less and I also could care more but I don't!

Okay so we only agree on one thing...I don't like you.

The whole team was not suspended. There were only 5 or 6 that were (can't remember exactly because it happened years ago and you live in the past). Therefore, many parents were doing their job. Coaches help to turn boys into men and teach many life lessons. It is too bad that you did not have a coach that did that for you. Maybe then you would not be so bitter.

Believe me I never spend anytime thinking about what you say. The main reason is you never say anything. You simply pop in to stir pot and than disappear. Go ahead and do the second part now.

Didn't the mighty Polar Bears squeek by Northwest this season? Guess Beau didn't quite get the most out of his boys that game. You can keep on supporting your annually underachieving Bears...everyone knows Jackson is a VOLLEYBALL school!

You're contradicting yourself fella! You should read your previous posts before making another. My bad...you don't know what contradicting means!

Bitter? Hahaha...I'm not bitter...hahaha...I get a real blast out of clarifying your cloudiness and teaching you the truth's to which you've been so blinded!

You don't think or can't think! I "never say anything" is simply because your comprehension is so severely jacked up you can't understand! Maybe your coach should have taught you that and how to think beyond sucking up to him. Or is it you're dizzy and still suffering from concussions after running "into" the brick walls for him! And when I "stir the pot" you pull up to the table with a large bowl because you want "what the Series62 is cooking"!! LOLOLOL!!!
