    Burk...

I think most will agree this year is Northwestern's best shot at Norwayne, but it's easy to see why Norwayne is a big favorite...

they're returning an all state QB & 2 guys with D1 scholarships, they outscored NWN 112-7 in two meetings last year and they are defending champs.

I'm hoping for a good game in week 10 this year, it was pretty ugly last year.

Congrats!!!...chicken fried in pure lard and hot sauce and you didn't feel it until the next morning! I barely make it home before my colon starts giving the first signs of impending danger.

sorry to get off topic, but that deserved kudos.

Its going to be tough to overcome getting outscored 112-7 in two meetings then turning it around in one offseason and coming out with a victory this season. Stranger things have happened but I don't think its going to happen this season. Norwayne will have a huge target on their back again this season, and with the seniors they lost, I'm looking forward to seeing how they handle that this year. GO CATS

PS.....If you can't handle some chicken and hot sauce (which is the best by the way) thats a true sign that you are getting old pal.....

dont care...yeah, you've seen how that Hostess & Corona diet aged me. Hopefully, I can avoid being one of those people who need the 3 wheeled go cart to navigate WalMart.

Thanks for the interesting stats, Red Rum! Always fun to look back at the history of the league.

Has anyone out there participated in passing scrimmages yet? I believe this is the time of year when those start to pick up. Only 5 weeks until week 1!

I think they go to ashland twice once at college and then high school and i think Massilion not sure of times or dates

How'd the Bobcats look at Ashland?
  • no name
Heard Norwayne looks awesome on offense, both at McKinley and Ashland and has a few issues to get straightened out on defense with new guys, plus a few key ones missing etc. This morning was the famed last day of Rick training, get this 13.25 miles running, all of it as 400 meter dashes. Took 3 hours to complete, mental toughness being the key when the body says no more!! On to two a days!

Good for him! I honestly think the talent in the WCAL is often better than the recognition it gets from being a small-school conference.

With those vitals, it's certainly understandable that they'd want him. Those are the intangibles that give him an edge for recruiting purposes.

The word from my buddies in Creston on Saturday night is that the Harris kid has reinjured the shoulder he had surgery on last year. Any truth to that Norwayne faithful? no name seems to have the inside track. That would be a major blow to the Cats if that was the case.

Hope that's not true. That would really be a shame

rumor has it that it is just a strain nothing major just set out the last couple of 7 on 7's to rest it. Will take it slow but should be 100% by season..

That's good to hear although it's still a concern if he has strained it and there hasn't even been any contact yet. Did they in fact move him to LB. I know they didnt move him inside but did they move him to one of the outside spots?

Another injury to that shoulder would not only hurt Norwayne but could cost him his scholarship. That would be terrible

from what i am hearing and the little that I seen at 7 on 7's they did move him to OLB. But with injury it would be smart to move him out of that position. We will see.

What was the purpose of moving him there in the first place? Was the Bobcat defense going to be weak in the middle and needed a run stopper or is this the position he is more accustomed to playing? Curious...

I think its alittle bit of all. I think they have more then a handfull of DB's but limited on OLB. not sure though Does anybody know what Cincinatti recruited him for WR? DB? maybe LB?

The Bobcats lost all four of the LB's and have little experience returning there. They lost a ton of talent. I think that coupled with Harris' size made it seem like a good move. I don't think anybody at Norwayne (other then the coaches) thinks that this is a good move. Harris actually played limited defense last year. He was hurt early on then when he came back Mitch K had taken his spot and was tearing it up. He didn't really seem to enter back into the lineup until the playoffs. He struggled at corner at the end of the season.

So that being said...do you guys think that a team with a good inside running attack could give the Bobcats fits this season? How will your D-line be this season? I agree, Harris does not seem like a LB (outside or inside). He seems more like a safety to me or a rush end to utilize his height and speed?

I still think teams will have trouble going inside, what they had last year (Zimmerly, Scruggs,Sickle) will be hard to replace, but if I am not mistaken they have alot of DLinemen that will rotate in and out(Steiner, the other Scruggs, and I think 2 other seniors and a couple more Juniors that I am not sure of names). and atleast 4 to 5 guys that will step into the MLB spot. OLB may be a different story I am one of those Bobcat Fans that dont think moving Harris to LB is a good move, dont get me wrong he is a ball player but i think he is better at the safety spot maybe CB. As far as him having trouble in playoffs, not to sure anybody in the area could handle the reciever from St. Clarsville. It will be interesting to see them in first scrimmage this year.

Does anybody know about the Maxwell kid?? I have not heard much about him this summer. Is he playing any D. I know he will be RB but is there anybody else to challenge him there??.
