When did I ever say he was the "best thing to walk thru (sp) the doors at Rittman High?" Just made that one up didn't you? Well, it's not the only lie you've been caught in. First you said it was Mama Dennis working for Tressel (you are aware he's not the football coach at Akron right?). Then when you were called on that, you changed your tune and said you meant the grandmother. All it took was a little digging to find out she is a professor and works nowhere near Tressel. So you were just making that up too. Now you are implying that I am Coach Dennis. Well boy, you're wrong again. You really don't have a good track record so far do you? It's a pretty sad statement that you now feel the need to attack a sophomore girl. Wow. Way to aim high. You have lost all credibility on here with all your lies that you try to pass off as facts.K-DOG86;1453220 wrote:VERY WELL SAID pdracer! I too saw the same things you witnessed, as well as how he ran backwards as a QB trying to AVOID hits! The daughter...well I'm glad there are others who are anxiously waiting to see the "miracles" she "will perform" Heck, we may see her at Baylor to replace B. Griner! That we will have to wait and see. Speaking of waiting, still waiting for the "best thing to walk thru the doors at Rittman High" as stated by doghouse, ooops, Bill Dennis upon their arrival in Rittman. Maybe this year?
If you remember, I came on this thread to simply say that DI programs don't just offer scholarships to please people. You're the one who started implying things and writing lies. All I am is a WCAL fan who wants to see Wayne Co. kids do well.
Oh and pdracer. I wouldn't worry about rumors. You know how they are around here. Everyone knows Ty is going to be a hell of a qb. Great arm, great kid. -

Correction its not Mamma Dennis but his older sister....either way he doesn't deserve the scholarship and I've watched every game the kid has played in a Rittman uniform (including basketball).doghouse riley;1455995 wrote:When did I ever say he was the "best thing to walk thru (sp) the doors at Rittman High?" doghouse rileyCorrect K-Dog not me. He's the one who posted it.
I won't even try to evaluate a kid's ability. It's not my job, nor am I interested in saying whether a kid deserves a scholarship. Criticizing kids shouldn't be what discussion boards are about. I'm just happy another WCAL kid got an offer. -

pdracerDog house, Ty is exactly as you described as well as a good kid with a great attitude. I hope he is the QB this year and I hope we can focus a little more on some of the other players. Spread the love so to speak. Im guessing Miller will be in the back field this year and we have a number of kids that can catch the ball and make plays when given the chance. Endress had some great games last year when he was thrown the ball. Regardless of the offer, regardless of the name, play the ones who have put in the effort and and can come through when needed. GO INDIANS!

doghouse rileyI'm with you pd. Plus Vaughn will get a lot of carries like last year. He's tough and a top notch kid too.

Red RumI'm hearing Norwaynes Trevohn Beery is going to Western Michigan....congrats to him.

It has definitely been confirmed. Harris is also going to Cincinnati. Impressive offers for two excellent young football players.Red Rum;1457193 wrote:I'm hearing Norwaynes Trevohn Beery is going to Western Michigan....congrats to him. -
Sneaky PeteWhat are the divisional assignments? does anyone know for sure?
I am hearing Smithville & Hillsdale have dropped into D6 with Rittman & Dalton. Is this true? -
1486wdI believe it is. The divisional lines got moved a little when they added the 7th division

According to http://louisvilleleopards.org/leopards-football-to-play-in-division-iii-northeast-regional/, the league schools look like this:Sneaky Pete;1465386 wrote:What are the divisional assignments? does anyone know for sure?
I am hearing Smithville & Hillsdale have dropped into D6 with Rittman & Dalton. Is this true?
Division V, North Region: Waynedale (185), Northwestern (183), Chippewa (179), and Norwayne (166)
Division VI, Northeast Region: Smithville (154), Hillsdale (134), Dalton (127), and Rittman (118)
The number in parenthesis is obviously the male enrollment numbers. -
bobcat14So with just under a month until football "officially" starts, whats the predictions for this year?? who is the team to beat? Who is the "dark" horse? who has the best RB,QB,WR,Oline,Dline,Dbacks?? just something to get this thread going again....
-
Red RumI've heard a few things...just rumors, take it for what it's worth
On the Dennis / Akron thing... ^^^ I'm hearing this repeated alot. Time will tell. Best of luck to the kid either wayWCALfootballfan;1438703 wrote:What I'm hearing is that they offered him as a favor to try and generate some interest from other schools.
*Norwayne is thinking about moving Harris to LB this season
*Burke (QB) from Dalton is looking outstanding on the summer camp circuit
*Northwestern had a up and coming talented WR transfer to Triway -
BobcatNorwayne moving Harris to LB would be an enormous mistake. He doesnt hit and he's not durable. Maybe that will change this year but he never has. Someone's been reading too many newspaper articles. I'm hearing that one of last years linemen has trimmed down and lived in the weight room and is moving to LB. The rumor is the front runner for the other inside spot is going to be a sophomore.
As far as who the front runner is in the WCAL....I dont see anyone challenging Norwwayne again this year.
Who is the Northwestern WR? -
bobcat14Wow didnt hear about Harris moving to LB...not to sure about that. I also got wind of the OLinemen moving to MLB i think that it would have to be Weinman(SP) everybody else would be gone, him and the soph last year(Scruggs i think) are the only ones left. i think I might know who the sophmore kid is and if its the Miller boy, I think that would be a good choice.

I think, again, Norwayne and Northwestern are the heavy favorites for topping the league. Hillsdale has developed a good program, but I think they will suffer as a result of the failed levy. Dalton should be an improved team from having a lot of young players on the field last year. Smithville is basically starting from scratch returning only a handful of starters. Rittman has begun producing DI athletes, so they should be improved. Chippewa has a new coach, so who knows how they will be. Waynedale is Waynedale... They seem to be a sinking ship at the benefit of the wrestling program. Coach Z might be on his way out after this season...bobcat14;1470780 wrote:So with just under a month until football "officially" starts, whats the predictions for this year?? who is the team to beat? Best QB's are an easy choice: Dreher and Noletti. Can anyone else even be considered?
Best RB's: Maxwell and Smith, again, fairly easy choice.
WR: Harris
O-Line: Northwestern
And now I'm bored. That's all I got. -

actually I've been talking to waaay too many Bobcat fans.....a group that's grown exponentially in the last few years.Bobcat;1471262 wrote: Someone's been reading too many newspaper articles.
never got a name, if there's any truth to it, we'll know in about a monthBobcat;1471262 wrote:Who is the Northwestern WR?
as I stated in the other post....just rumors, take it for what it's worth. You guys wanted something to get the thread going, that's the kind of material you get in early July. -
Red RumQB's-
1. Dreher(NOR)- returning all state selection
2. Nolletti(NWN)- great overall athlete
Burke(DAL) & Breitenstine(CHIP) either could have a breakout season
RB's-
1. Smith(NWN)- half of the Huskies 2 headed rushing attack
2. Mager(HILL)- Hillsdales greatest offensive threat
Maxwell from Norwayne will get his chance this year. If any of the 3 Smithville backs didn't graduate, they should be mentioned. If Stanley from Waynedale plays, he could breakout at RB
WR's-
1. Harris(NOR)
2. Beery(NOR)
followed by new guys from Norwayne
The biggest question in my mind is Smithville. They have a tradition of winning, they have a coach who wins everywhere he goes, they dropped a division,
but...
they graduated a lot of talent, and there is some leftover bad karma from the Schrock fiasco. Will they finish top half of the league? Will dropping a division help or hurt any playoff hopes?........(the playoff question looms large for everyone as D5 goes Northwest & D6 goes Northeast) -

Seems to me that Waynedale should give Louie Stanley the head football job as well. Good coach and the kids seem to respond to his style. I think Z is a below average X's and O's coach, and just a bad, in game manager.Old Rider;1471651 wrote:Seems to me that Waynedale should give Louie Stanley the head football job as well. Good coach and the kids seem to respond to his style. Hand over the clipboard Z!
But Waynedales current football woes don't have as much to do with him, as it does with just not having any football players in high school right now. It's that simple.
Waynedale has a fine football tradition, and it has always been built around good sized ugly guys in the trenches, blocking for big backs that cut towards contact, not away from it.
They currently have neither.
Louie would be a fine head coach...no doubt about it...but he sat down and made the decision a long time ago that his main project would be to build that wrestling program. -

1486wdA lot of good points here. Totally agree with knoitall - Norwayne the clear number 1 and Northwestern 2, both playoff teams IMO. After that it gets very murky. To me the top candidates for the postseason (but not to win the league) are Hillsdale, Dalton, Smithville. Hillsdale has developed into a program that looks to have some staying power. They lose a pile of guys, so I am not putting them as a favorite, but to discount them is folly. I haven't talked to my guy yet to find out my usual Dalton info, but looking from last season: Dalton returns nearly everyone, a lot of whom started as sophs (moyer is a big loss, though). Burke is putting in the work at QB and is looking to have a big year. They should have the horses in the backfield with raines, mcginty, mcfarren. No stars in that group, but some good hard runners and raines has speed. They should also have good TE's with Metzger, Clark, and Morehart all with good size. The key to their offense will be line depth, they do have murphy to build around who is one of the best linemen in the league, and finding some consistent recievers outside of the tight end. Likely candidates are Zach ryder (also the likely back up Qb) and j mann. I believe the D will be solid. Smithville has tons of questions with few seniors and returning starters, so I have a hard time putting them in the mix, although I like Brent B. I haven't heard enough about the others at this point to judge, but based off of last year's results, combined with a new coach or two - it looks tough for them I think.
