jacoUntil I see the Dennis kid in pads, on the Akron sidelines, holding his drivers license up in front of his face to verify his identity - only then will I believe any of this. This is pure bunk driven by his dad, nothing more.

I would assume one of those secret weapons is the younger Harris boy...I think he is a frosh this season?BuckeyesFan1983;1481569 wrote:On that note.... no nameI like what I hear about Hunter Shue in the slot also 3 other Seniors and a Junior, Reed, I was told the best freshman receiver is Steiner, great hands, but a long way from the offensive varsity huddle. Actually he played in the 7 on 7 as safety when Harris was out. Harris brother will be a real threat someday. Just needs a lil more time playing the game. The freshman class at Norwayne is really talented, tall. I like to think that Norwayne has turned the corner in one aspect. There are 18 Seniors on the team. Many of them and I mean 12 that hardly varsity last year would have started on all other WCAL teams. Remember this is the class that everyone pointed to 4 years ago as the team. I can remember years ago Smithville would have one lineman and a running back you never heard of then they were all league there senior year. Someone will step up this year for Norwayne I believe.
-
BobcatI'm not sure who was pointing to this class 4 years ago. All I can remember was everyone talking about the 3 classes that were stacked on top of each other...the last 2 and this one. Unfortunately the members of this class haven't had much participation on the varsity level. That's the perils of of having great classes stacked on top of each other. Norwaynes success will be contigent upon the development of a lot of varsity newcomers. If they do as well as Dreher did last year fitting in the Cats will be awesome again. You can't count on freshman to contribute much and the defense is going to have to develop quickly. The reality is that as Norwayne fans we have gotten spoiled over the past couple years. We have some high level talent but a lack of varsity experience. Hopefully being part of a top notch program our players will step up to the challenge.

bobcats2012Weinman, Scruggs, Stiener, Dreher, Maxwell, Berry, Harris And Brown all had a lot of varsity time last 2 seasons seems like a good start
-
BobcatScruggs, Steiner and Brown I beleve will all be juniors so they aren't from this years class. As far as playing time goes, Weinman, Harris and Beery are seasoned. Scruggs did an excellent job on the offensive line but I dont think he saw much Def time with the 1st string. Maxwell came in primarily to give Zimmerly a blow carrying the ball and ran with the 2's. IMO once he hit the Chippewa kid head on he was never the same. I dont think he really saw 1st string defense time. Brown was a sub.
I'm not hatin I just saying we have a lack of varsity experience something that was not a problem over the last couple of years -

Ive watched this kids since they were 8 years old and much like the previous 2 classes they over achieved at every level. Championship in JV. and Runner up in Youth. Undefeated in middle school an alot of varsity time since they were freshmen. Should be another fun year to be a Bobcat. -

Wow, hope some team in the WCL can give them a game to get them ready for this next playoff run. BobcatWho are Northesterns linemen? Are any of them returning starters? How many starters do they return on each side of the ball?
-
bobcat14Well 3 days into football season whats the word on the street about your teams???. Drove by Norwayne yesterday looks like they have pretty good numbers. I have been out of town for the last week and needed to get caught up so I went and had coffee at the local coffee shop and heard some things that i didnt like. Heard they have changed the starting OLine 3 times now, and still dont have a idea about the D. Any of you Norwayne fans out there get me caught up, is this true. Hope not, I know its only 3 days in but not a good way to start.

Well I have seen the kid in pads and not very impressed. How he got an offer is beyond me and many people. I would say a DIII player at best. Could he start for Mount Union as a freshman, no way so that should sum up your answer. Any DI kid should be able to start as a freshman for any DIII school. Just makes the owe process seem a little off and not right. -

Not any DI player can start at Mount. Other than that I would agree with what you say.Birddog;1483405 wrote:Well I have seen the kid in pads and not very impressed. Old RiderI just can not understand how the recruiting coach from Akron who is assigned to our area can even keep his job?? How does he miss on a kid like Berger and then come back with an offer for Dennis?? Bowden better get to firing that retard...Akron was 1-11 last year and now we all know why. Its funny that both articles I have read in regards to Dennis going to Akron talk about his great route running and speed....well hell, if thats the case, then every receiver gets a scholarship. His season stats resembled a WR coming off one great game...221 total yards and 5 TD's....what a joke!

WCALfootballfanI agree with these comments 100%. Everything I've seen points to someone telling lies. Huddle had Dennis in the Top200 prospects based on his 800 yards receiving and his offer from Akron. Where did they get 800 yards? Rittman's head coach, that's where. I emailed Huddle and they thanked me and said they would look into it. They said they want good info on their site. It seems that there's a web of lies surrounding this kid. If you notice the articles all like to reference him being injured also. That's how they are justifying his low stats. This whole thing stinks. I assume Dennis has a serious connection to Akron's staff. Does anyone out there know? The rumors I've heard are that the recruiter is married to someone in the Bowden family so I assume he wont be getting fired. I say we all do some research and see what the connection is between Dennis and the Akron staff. Come back if you find out anything good

Wow! Was Berger in the top 200? Because he had 79 receptions, 1378 yards, and 13 TDs... This whole thing is interesting to say the least.WCALfootballfan;1483480 wrote:Huddle had Dennis in the Top200 prospects based on his 800 yards receiving and his offer from Akron.
