In the Rittman case, "exposure" is the operative word. As in "this player will be exposed as not being D1 material, and likely only received a scholarship offer as a result of his father's apparent pandering."

Frankly, I don't even know if the kid is D3 material. And that's not a knock. 99% of kids who play don't go on to college. It's just the truth. I don't like liars, and something is very dishonest about this whole situation.

Not in the Dennis family at all, I'm not even from Rittman. Actually my son plays for Chippewa. Which I am excited about our future with our new coach, kids are excited and looking good do far. Just didn't understand all the backlash you guys are throwing at this kid.

The "backlash" is from a scholarship coming to a player that does not have the size, speed, or stats to get one. Other than that he is D1 material...

    Who is it?

I have not heard what the issue is with McGinty. If you open enroll without moving into the district, don't you have to sit out a year?

I believe if you have not established eligibility (participating in a scrimmage, game, or going to class), you are able to transfer and participate. I am not certain on this, but I briefly scanned the rules the other day when RobBamsey asked about it, and that's what I got from it.

Correction, if the transfer student is ENTERING his freshman year, he is eligible to play. However, if he established eligibility as a freshman at one school and then decided to transfer before his sophomore season, he must sit out one year before being eligible. The only provision for this is if the family moves inside the new school district, in which case, it would not be open-enrollment.

Im pretty sure the NEW rules passed recently state, If you establish eligibility in the previous 12 months in any sport, you have to sit out 50% of the season at the "new" school for each sport that you previously participated in the past 12 months.

Really? So a kid can transfer from school A to school B after 1 game with school A and only sit out 5 games for school B? That would be a ridiculous rule if that is the case.

I spoke to the player and he told me he will sit out the first 5 games. At the moment I dont want to say anything. All I can say is he will be a Junior this year.

Ridiculous rules are a specialty for the ohsaa

That just seems incredibly lenient for the OHSAA. So what if a kid misses a few games; they will still be around for the playoff run and a shot at the state title!

    What's wrong with McGinty Beverboy?

My contacts at Smithville aren't reporting any injuries there. Sounds like they are thin this year

I assume the younger Stanley boy is playing ball this fall for Waynedale. He was on his way to having a heck of year until he got injured.

    Any more news out there?

Also note: After football, a kid could transfer to yet another school, and miss 50% of basketball/wrestling and then finish the season. as well as transfer again the the spring and sit out 50% and be eligible.

Let's be honest here we all know he is a D3 athlete at best. Nothing to be mad about it just doesn't make any sense. What about many other WCAL players that are head and shoulders better and not even a sniff. I am a former Indian and still go to many games and work in town. Every body in town knows it's a joke. All of his teammates know he is not a D1. player and gets special treatment and his name only gets mentioned by his daddy. It just makes for a tough situation.

Rats leaving a sinking ship! He is a good kid and it's a shame that his former coach couldn't see that. I wish him the best of luck at his "new" school and look forward to seeing him play. I only wish that the "Rival Game" was after his 5 game sit out period!

Toward what kid is this directed?

Who is going to do the pickem this year? I would like to participate, but hadn't seen if anyone had volunteered to run it this year.

If you don't want to disclose all the facts about who transferred and why, then don't post anything. My two cents.

I think everyone knows he's not a D1 player. I think the thing that aggravates everyone is that his dad is behind it and everyone knows it. It's obvious Bill Dennis is not well liked and that fuels this thing. Any time you have a head coach coaching his own kid it's usually a recipe for disaster. In this case dad is obviously using his connections. This has to cause some serious friction on the team

I heard yesterday that the young mans last name is Jones. I dont know what age he is or what position he plays. I'm not even sure that's correct
