  Sure couldn't have put this any better myself. I fully expected Norwayne to run over the entire league and breeze to 10-0 this year. Now I think Hillsdale and NW both have a shot at winning the league and beating the Bobcats.
  Lets face it, if the Bears had a kicker, that game becomes even more interesting.
  Give the bears some credit for playing at much higher level one year removed from 0-10.

  Rumor has it that Harris has the same injury as last year in the same shoulder. Does anyone out there know if that's true? I haven't talked to anyone that knows for sure. If that's the case then that's a definite blow to the Cats.

  Would Cincy consider backing out? Lingering injuries may cause them to turn their head? Hopefully he recovers and gets back to 100%

  Certainly I can see the difference. Are you a school teacher or something? In Havin Fun's original post, he was not talking about the 'accepted standard of WCAL football', but rather 'a few things going a different way'. Breaks for good teams and bad teams could alter their records. This has nothing to do with the quality or lack of quality of a team.
  
  Most every program runs its cycle. Norwayne is no different. But, they are still a good team this year, and should be 8-2 at the worst. Still a good standard.

  If it is the same injury in the same shoulder I would be shocked if Cincy doesn't pull the scholarship. That would be a shame.

  Yes 9-1 or 8-2 is a good record I just think that all of us Norwayne fans have gotten a little spoiled. We still have a good team and we should be happy about it. I think we're just adjusting to not destroying everyone we play.

  Hillsdale and Nwn (and maybe Chippewa) may disagree with 8-2, esp. If Harris out.

  Crazy cycle that Norwayne, Northwestern and Hillsdale are as good as ever at the same time Dalton, Waynedale and Smithville are/were down.

  Its tough replacing kids like Wallace, the Zimmerly bros, and Berger. Plus all the talent they had up front for those couple of years...I think the Bobcats finish 7-3 with losses to Hillsdale and Northwestern.....and miss the playoffs.

  Seeing Norwayne, Northwestern and Hillsdale on top of the standings is like dogs marrying cats. It's not natural and must be stopped!

  I think Harris has a better chance of keeping his scholarship. Lets hope his injury is not bad..

  I don't enjoy any of us being hard on a High school kid with a scholarship, but it seems we are all watching this train wreck carefully...

  Not trying to knock the kid.
  I think everyone understands the value in getting a scholarship, good for him.
  But I do believe as long as you are stating facts they can be discussed. I think if I am knocking anyone it is the Akron recruiters, I know Div. 3 recruiters that would not touch this kid, How is it that he gets a D1 ride?
  Yes, it is interesting to watch because it makes no sense at this point.

  I still think Norwayne is the favorite to win the league. I think the path is going to be a bit more exciting than what everyone thought five weeks ago. I am not sure if a school can pull a D1 offer?? I would think Cincy would honor any commitment they made to Harris. At least i hope they do!

  He was talking about a "few things going a different way" because the outcome would have been discussion-worthy. That was my point. A 3-2 Norwayne team would certainly be discussion-worthy, and given that it came relatively close to happening, that's something that, under the recent circumstances, is worth noting.
  
  8-2 is a great record for a team with a good schedule.

  University of Buffalo pulled theirs on Matt Davis of Orrvillle just a couple of years ago after he blew his knee up in a scrimmage. Maybe the severity of the injury will determine all of that.

  Just like a kid can walk away after giving a verbal commitment, so can a university withdraw a verbal offer

  From what I read colleges pull offers on kids all of the time. It sounds like there's not nearly as much "honor" in the system as there was back in the day. From what I read it sounds like there is a lot of unspoken contingencies when a school offers....conduct, grades and staying healthy being 3 big ones.

  Just look at the crappy stunt OSU pulled on the McGee kid pitching for them. Had a full ride, and then between his freshman and sophomore years had his scholarship pulled. That's dirty. If he'd taken a full ride with a MAC school or such it would've never happened. I'd rather have an offer pulled than a scholarship. At least you have time to change course.

  Schools pull offers all the time. You have to offer a lot more players than you can take since many will go elsewhere. You would be left with scraps otherwise

  Maybe thats why they pulled his scholarship...they realized he was a MAC player at best, not a BIG 10.
  Regardless, he will be better off for it.
