LOL! Laziest picks ever. Not one school's name is spelled out (though "CVCA" is acceptable, I guess).

    I like the 4.6 reference....good one.

What a bitter man. You may not have intended this to be a potshot; but it definitely came across that way. Hope the formentioned young man isn't a reader here.

You sound like a bitter coach. Stay off the message boards and get your team back to glory football.

Bitter coach? Not even close. Nice try though.

I am telling you this, the aforementioned young man would be the first to tell you that he isn't one of the top on his team. He works as hard, if not harder, than anyone else on the team and he is a great leader by example. I remember him as a sophomore and I think we ALL had high expectations for him. However, things don't always pan out like they should. Let's just be honest here.

I bleed scarlet and gray for my bobcats, but give them hell tonight lonely little rittman engines!! Best of luck to both teams, stay safe in the wet conditions.

Pit, good stuff, I enjoy reading your opinions.
I am interested to see how Hillsdale responds after a tough loss. Dalton will not be an easy game, Hillsdale needs to play well and get the bad taste out of their mouth. Best of luck to all the teams, hope everyone stays healthy.

Just finished watching the Waynedale - Smithville game. Score was deceptive, as Smithville didn't have a great game. Lots of missed tackles. Ball security issues. Defense seemed lazy in the late second and early third quarters.

Their running fundamentals, however, were solid, and the offensive line did a better job. Bates actually might have gotten 80-100 passing yards, as well.

Any ball security issues Smithville had were at least doubled by Waynedale. BIG issues with securing the ball and avoiding fumbles. In the end, that and a sluggish first half offense was their biggest problem.

As an aside, Waynedale never panted. Smithville did only once.

    Indeed.

Sure hope the Falcon faithful won't be upset about the itty bitty paragraph they get from the DR tomorrow.

We won't mind. We aren't like those whiny Norwayne fans. Besides we have the Times Gazette to read too.

I heard Norwayne had 6 members from the band playing defense in the 4th quarter tonight..........69-0 over powerhouse Rittman, better get front page in DR...

    lol'd!

So it sounds like the Smithville-Waynedale game was indeed the closest tonight, but "closest" sounds like a misnomer.

I got to meet 1_beast and talk with him for a little bit prior to the game. Good dude. Definitely cares a lot about the kids playing. Heck, he goes to away games when he doesn't have a son on the field and the team is struggling. That's certainly a good fan. Reps to him when he gets on.

Anyone care to break down the Northwestern - Chippewa game? I'd like to hear how the Northwestern fans felt the Huskies did tonight.

My thoughts from the Hillsdale - Dalton game.

    - Dalton has a long way to go. Their offense had almost no production tonight. At times they resembled the Cleveland Browns.
    - Hillsdale came out with a chip on their shoulder after last week. I almost felt bad for those Bulldogs.
    - Defensive line for Hillsdale re-established their dominance.
    - One bright spot for Dalton's offense was their opening drive. They moved the ball well. Moyer was quick getting into the holes in the line. They need to put the ball in his hands more often.

    Final score: Hillsdale 48 - Dalton 8

I look forward to see how Hillsdale handles Smithville next week.

What happend to Waynedale Golden Bear Football? I am appalled with the gamw/gameplan this evening. For starters, on a minor note, how in the heck do you run an option offense to the short side all night?

On to the stud freshman Stanley, kids a hammer, but how do you run this freshman over 2 seniors?

B Stanley has been the field general the last 2 years....but has been reduced to a backup (basically) as he gets a fraction of the touches that his freshman brother gets...huh?

Enter Strasbaugh...varsity journeyman who has shouldered the load, yet sacrifices carries to the freshman.

What the heck is going on with this coaching regime, that they basically bench 2 playmakers from the last 2 years, in lieu of a freshman?

Things are crazy in Bear Country....

Better hurry and fix it the Bobcats are coming your way next week and they are in a cow butting mood.

It was a pleasure meeting you o-trap..the pleasure was all yours ;)

Bears got beat up last night...

Strasbaugh with a great KO return that I hoped would turn the momentum as the Bears took a 7-6 lead. It was ugly, though after that.

Too many fumbles.....lack of execution, outmanned on the line.

    Nice TD reception by Brendon!

I have to echo ghost riders sentiments, as the two senior playmakers from the last 2 years came through with clutch scores...those guys need more touches. I think that is evident. The crowd didnt seem happy with the playcalling.....

But hey..1-9, 2-8...aint so bad. Right? Theres always Next year....

Also...Bates kid is a stud,,,his brother though is full of hot air. He said he wanted to meet up, but never showed.

The kid on the field wasnt afraid though, he played a hell of a game!!

Any of those injured linemen back for the dawgs? Lots in street clothes last week (not saying it would have made a big difference, just wondering as I couldn't make it last night)
  • Havin Fun
I too suffered through that entire Smithville - Waynedale game. Smithville's pass defense is suspect. What did we do? Run most of the night. Strange days indeed.

How about that W.H. game.... man o man... wish I could have been around to see that thing. Sounded like a heck of a game. Conway looks to have Madison turned around and into a contender. W.H. and Ashland is now the OCC championship game I'd say, but Senior and Wooster won't be push overs. Looks like a good year for the OCC

The score was 45-0. I don't know how you take away anything from that game. My Chipps are just not very good. That's why I don't talk much here.

1-beast, I am really sorry I didn't meet up with you and 0-Trap, I didn't see your message until this morning. I would still enjoy watching a game with you sometime. Maybe when playoffs come around. Sorry again.

I was really impressed with some individual players for Waynedale. They had some kids that would start for any team in the league.

I think Smithville and Hillsdale is going to be a battle next week. I think Smithville is definitely capable of throwing the ball and I think they will need balance to beat Hillsdale. They also will need to tie up some loose ends in the special teams game, but they have improved each week, so I think they have a shot in this one.
