Vacha was back, August out. No, no difference. We didn't execute as we well as we did against Timken, but many of Timken's mistakes were self inflicted. Falcons didn't help us with that last night. They are in a good place, all county teams cycle in and out of them. It'll change again soon enough. Kudos to them though, their backfields aren't so big but very speedy and their front liners are bruisers. Lots of seasoned players.1486wd;1271370 wrote:Any of those injured linemen back for the dawgs? Lots in street clothes last week (not saying it would have made a big difference, just wondering as I couldn't make it last night)
And the weather on the Hill wasn't half bad last night!
I guess I'll have to take my lumps for thinking the DR would put us in the little print. Hillsdale got a whole story.
Time to get ready for the Huskies!! -
Bloody ToothbrushBLOODYS FRIDAY NIGHT.....
Since I didn't get home in time to go see Col Hartley/Hoban over in Crackron....I went to the closest place. Hillsdale.
I didn't think it would be much of a contest and it wasn't. Now I didn't even get there until half way through the first quarter and the Dalton fan I was sitting beside told me the Dawgs were moving the ball quite well.....that apparently, was all that went right for them. From the time I arrived, Dalton had majors issues on offense and defense. Hillsdale was probably responsible for some of that.
Dalton looks pretty well coached. The plan was there....the execution wasn't. Their youth is apparent as they tried several different QBs. Bumbled exchanges, overthrowing the receiver, bad pitches just doomed them. Defensively, they just got handled. Hillsdale called the dogs off with about 5 minutes left in the third. Dalton is gonna have a rough year if they can't iron out the execution issues.
Hillsdale looked good, they took care of business. They had a major size advantage on Dalton and they used it. Not much else to say on them.
What happened to that odios announcer the Falcons used to have? I thought I hated that guy, but now I miss him because at least he was far quicker and more informative than last nights talking head.
The 50/50 sucked because I didn't win.
The raffle sucked because I didn't win.
The trip home sucked because somebodys business burned down and I got kicked onto a back road and had to tour backwater Ashland County.
The bell ringing sucked because GoFalcons is limpwristed.
at least the weather was nice.
went home and watched Orrville on TV........I really have to rethink my previous thoughts on them making the playoffs. I'm not sure they're even gonna win 3 games.
West Holmes/Madison sounded like the game to see......maybe that much ridiculed media poll in August was on the money. The Knights seem to have some serious running backs. WH should really have some fun when they get to test out Orrvilles new field on the 28th. -
855prideone time bates is in man coverage and he gets a pick over the freshman wr. Antwan? not sure how to spell his name. didnt see anything from him. the KO return for a TD was impressive. smithies coverage team is suspect but the move he put on the poor smithie kicker made me flinch. lookin forward to playing the falcons. dont sleep on smithville.

elitesmithie05I was at the Smithville game. Spent time on both sides. From hearing on the Waynedale side, seems they give some preference of playing time to some players that don't deserve it? I was at the first Smithville game this year and it was like night and day. Granted some of that was the opponent, however they looked very crisp in their offense and the line played drastically better. I still don't think they have the line to play with the top 2 teams in the league but they should atleast keep it close with Hillsdale. Hopefully we don't get any defensive holding called on our line on a punt return like last year haha

eyes r burningCould not agree more, the only question about this storied program is how far the current administration will let the program be ran into the ground?
I will not even go into the fact that football players are not even coming out because of the current staff, kids playing out of prosition, coaching tirades in practice and without a question the worst play calling and game plans I have ever seen in my 60 years of playing and watching games
As I said it ball in in the hands of the administration, this program is nearing the point of no return because of one man, you have got to be kidding me.ghostrider;1271342 wrote:What happend to Waynedale Golden Bear Football? I am appalled with the gamw/gameplan this evening. For starters, on a minor note, how in the heck do you run an option offense to the short side all night?
On to the stud freshman Stanley, kids a hammer, but how do you run this freshman over 2 seniors?
B Stanley has been the field general the last 2 years....but has been reduced to a backup (basically) as he gets a fraction of the touches that his freshman brother gets...huh?
Enter Strasbaugh...varsity journeyman who has shouldered the load, yet sacrifices carries to the freshman.
What the heck is going on with this coaching regime, that they basically bench 2 playmakers from the last 2 years, in lieu of a freshman?
Things are crazy in Bear Country.... -
jacoWaynedale is an embarassment right now. Zuercher has become the McCreary of Waynedale football. Remember the good old days when Norwayne, Northwestern and Hillsdale were automatic victories?

My opinion is just that...an opinion....I have nothing to say to Z other than Hi and bye....I do not know the man.....I'm cordial in passing.
I do not agree with how things are done, game plans and personnel. If i don't like it....I will voice my opinion. Everyone knows who I am....so what I say here usually makes it around the gossip circles.
I will say, IF I had a son playing, I would have taken the opportunity for that sit down meeting......but since I dont have a horse in the race....I'm just an armchair quarterback.
I do not know wcalfan, other than he is my personal stalker. -

Well that is true but this isn't college, pro, or private school football. You can't control what players you have. Sometimes the blame falls onto the players. Not saying that is the case but I've made my feelings known about the quality of the line this year.eyes r burning;1272055 wrote:Who do want to blame the players?
