Basic rule applies here....if it doesn't work, stop doing it!!!! Up the middle=no where! Up the middle=no where! Up the middle=no where! If you have 3 work horse running backs and no O line you DON'T go up the middle!

Of course, you run an option to the short side of the field with a man in motion. #predictability

Actually....I thought hanging 69 on Rittman was pretty classless. Gotta get those stats padded though. I understand you can only call off the dogs so much....but for Pete sake....they should of had the freshman in and went to a running clock or something.

I personally wasn't at the game but I was told the JV and freshman played most of the 2nd half. It is what it is.

Would like to hear from a viewer that was there at the game before labeling a program classes. Big week for some it's the Super Bowl for a few!

Well where the hell do you go then. You stated the problem. If you can't run up the middle you aren't going to run outside either. The qb had 4 picks last week right? Well... Looks like that isn't much of an option either. What's next... Trick plays as often as possible? Hopefully u see the dilema here...

Hate to see them go this way but it is what it is when it comes to the games. He hasn't been blessed with line talent the last couple years. Hopefully that changes because they for sure have the coaching in that area.

Well, here I am....where do I start? It ALWAYS starts with your seniors...ALWAYS. I have said that on this site from day one. It always comes down to your seniors because they are your leaders. This current class has never won at ANY level. Am I right, beast?

Even at that, you have hopes going into the this season that they can do something and guess what happens? Your senior running back/linebacker gets into trouble and is suspended for the first game. Hmmmmmm....who's fault is that? If we have him @ Tusky Valley there is no doubt we win...no doubt. Who is to blame for that one? So we lose at Tusky Valley and it has snowballed from there.

Jmar also said it best...you need to have the horses in the trenches and we just don't have it. Plain and simple. We get NO PUSH whatsoever from our offensive and defensive lines. How can you get anything accomplished when you are starting 2 yards back? Seriously?

Eyes....have you ever been to a practice? Do you not think that these coaches are doing everything they can to prepare these kids for Friday nights? Do you think they practice fumbling? throwing interceptions? penalties? the wrong blocking techniques? Do you really think they practice that? Sooner or later, the kids have to make plays. There is nothing else to it. It's that simple.

I have also, in the past, eluded to the fact that our kids/parents have become very soft. I can remember sitting in the gym at pre-season parent meeting and hearing our AD say this and at first I was a little upset with him for saying it. But the more I thought about it and the more I see our kids compete, I really think he may be right. In football you need your kids to work their butts off in the weight room and Coach Z does that with our kids. However, some of our kids don't want to do that so what do they do? They don't come out and they blame the coach for that. Wait, let me get it right, "football players are not even coming out because of the current staff". Give me a break eyes...THAT is our problem. Our kids/parents are taking the easy way out. Blame it on the coach! Yea, that makes sense.

Eyes, why don't you call up the administration and ask for a meeting with Coach Z, the AD, the principal, etc. Go ahead. You have that right. Let them hear your opinion and how YOU can fix it. Please do.....

"Kids playing out of prosition, coaching tirades in practice and without a question the worst play calling and game plans I have ever seen in my 60 years of playing and watching games". Please enlighten me. I can't wait for your intelligent response.....

The Bears haven't had an offensive line in years. Without a line, you cannot win in the WCAL. Period.

By the start of the 3rd quarter Norwayne had the 2nd 3rd and 4th string RB in the game with most of the 2nd and 3rd OL about 95% of the running plays were right up the middle, no traps, just straight dives.......they did pass a few plays but that was only because Rittman would put 10 in the box and send them. Maybe 2 1st string OL played the 3rd and part of 4th quarters the center, only because of injury to the back ups, and #64 which i think is a soph(????).....most of the 4th quarter was played by the Freshman.....Norwayne did what they needed to do by calling off the dogs.......

Please lets not get into the same conversation we did last year about running the score up or being classeless!!!!!... A running clock is not an option for the coaches, that has to be diecided by the refs if I am not mistaken.

Clock issues are decided by both coaches. I haven't personally seen it on a friday but this case it should have been used if the freshmen were so unstopable as well. I wasn't there obviously but this multiple 60+ nights... I just don't know... been plenty of teams that could hang 60 & more but found ways not to...

Everyone wants to blame someone so let's blame the coach! Just make sure you are blaming the right one! Why is Norwayne having sucess right now? Last years senior class was one of their first classes out of their youth program. Start them early and teach them right! Waynedale's seniors, juniors and sophmores had the absolute worst man for the job running the youth program at that time! He focused the program purely around his boys and no one else! Where are his boys now? Oh that's right wrestleing with Wadsworth and occassionally Waynedale when they feel Coach Louie is deserving enough for their pressence! The boys whose parents made them stick around for that bull don't have enough actual football players left to make a whole team!
In comes this freshman class! Undefeated 2 years in junior high. 4 of the best brought to varsity and everyone wasnts to complain? So what should we do? I say we forget about the varsity and send those 4 back to JV where you already have freshman running the offence and defence. Let waynedale's freshman class play against everyone's juniors and sophmores to get better, stronger and bigger! Keep them all together as a class like Smithville is doing so we can actually get something going in the next 3 years!

Reps to Buckz....finally someone who gets it! However, I still don't agree with blaming a coach at any level. Suck it up and play for pride and loyalty.

Interesting perspective on the current freshmen. I like your thoughts and think that makes sense.

They should play varsity. If you want to throw them in on jv some then do it. They need to play at the highest level asap. It will pay major dividends later. Look at the '03 team. They had 3 kids play as freshmen on varsity with regularity... then about 7 as soph and 8 or 9 as juniors... Senior year... they scored the most in league history at the time and had a nice playoff run. Those guys played some on mondays as fresh and saturdays as fresh/soph's. That was done to "keep them together" and get them the experience they needed to be successful.

It's a completely different game on friday. The quicker they adjust to that the better. As the season goes on... you should see more and more young guys get to play in bigger portions of the game... It's just that kind of year I guess. It's too bad because they have some solid pieces

Down 14-7 have the ball on your own 40, line up in punt formation put a guy in motion (when has anyone ever went in motion on a straight up punt) do you think this might of gave the defense a ideal that the fake was coming? Changing point of the game. Who draws these kinds of plays up the kids? Pretty sure they don't but maybe they should start. 14 points in 16 qts of football great football minds at work!

Wow, sounds like we have a coach here. I feel so much better now. Are you ready to take over the program? It is real easy to criticize from the peanut gallery, isn't it? What are your credentials?

Let's just say Coach Z wasn't our coach...who in the world are we going to get? In today's world you don't just create teaching positions for coaches. Plus, who would want to come into a situation where everyone thinks they are an expert.

Again, I will ask this like I did last year with the "Golden Bear Expert". During Coach Z's first 4 years, we won the league 2 times and made the playoffs 3 times. Why is that? Did he just get dumber over the years? Let's hear your response to that one....this should be good.

On the coaching aspect; Does anyone else find it peculiar that the bears only surrendered a def tf in the 1st half against TV. , down 14-7 toRidgewood and held Triway to 7 1st half points. All 3 game were winning siuations and toe to toe matchups, evn given the lack of line play. The irony is the halftime adjustmdmets made/not made for the previously mentioned teams tto come ouy after the half and take control.

The riciculous motion on the fake punt screamed for the defense to key on it and yes was a huge swing of momentum in the game.

The former youth coach did alot of damage, I will not deny th::at. I will say that Hillsdale and Norwayne has it going positive from the ground up with everyone on the same page. What is Waynedales youth/jr high doing on offense to coincide with vars
ity? Is Z involved in anyway with establishing the program from the ground up? Are things just done how they always have been? BTW his 1st 2 years he inherited a team that was established and it was general concensus to hand Nofsinger the ball.

Is that just a recent change with the blocking and "tockling"? Just curious, because for 45-50 years those subjects were irrelevant at Nowayne. Lol
