They are riding a wave of talent....much like the Riders in the mid to late 90's. Not knocking their program because it is obvious that they have something special right now...but it will be interesting to see where it goes in the next 5 years. Will the current coach stay? Will they still be the same after their current JR's and Sr's graduate? We'll see...Red Rider Nation;1308591 wrote:I know but unfortunately they will be talked about a lot in Wayne County. They have a great program there right now and its not like that is a great place to live either and they dont have a ton of jobs. Throw that argument out!!! That town shuts down at 8pm too and there isnt squat to do or offer families there. Facilities are a joke so back to the drawing board! -
rrfanRed Rider Nation- you may want to hold off on the "facilities are a joke" comment for a little bit.

Same to you sir. Old Rider hit it on the head we were not even close on the Offensive and Defensive lines. Yea we were not even close.Troll King;1308600 wrote:Not even close really? sometimes I wonder about you. -

I Agree We matched them athletically . I would say that we were also outcoached in that game , Just my opinion of course .Old Rider;1308585 wrote:I know its already been answered, but I thought without question that we matched them athletically....where they beat us was in the trenches and thats exactly where we struggled this year as well! My two cents...and by the way....can we stop talking about Norwayne and a game from last season! Makes me sick! -

Could it be possible that Norwayne is experiencing a good 3-4 year run of athletes, then it will be back to the days of old, and the coach will be headed off to a bigger school? I think the big difference between the Bobcats is that they have both athletes AND lineman, where as we have traditionally just had really good athletes. -

Could be but I think if coach were gonna jump ship he would have done it after last year. He is solid. You could be right though we will seeOQB;1308607 wrote:You make a good point....I'm going to come back with this:

rrfanTroll were you at that game? I am not being a smart #$S I am just curious. Also, everygame we loose we are outcoached right? It can never be that the other team was better. They were state champs.

You mean our backyard football gameplan didnt work? really??? rrfan will always revert back to our lack of talent so dont worry about him. I am sure when he played though he was the most talented person the program ever saw! -

What is that supposed to mean? The question that you asked was were they better than us. I answered it and you don't like it. Backyard football gameplan! LOL!!! That is exactly what our offense looked like this year for sure!Red Rider Nation;1308617 wrote:You mean our backyard football gameplan didnt work? really??? rrfan will always revert back to our lack of talent so dont worry about him. As for Coach Harbour(and some of his staff)...the only thing that may keep him(them) at Norwayne is their teaching positions! Not a great time to be looking for teaching positions or for schools to create positions to bring coaches in. And if Mr. Larry Aucker has any say....he will do everything in his power to hang on to Coach Harbour and his staff! -
5knotsWhen you win the coach is good and when you lose the coach is bad. Fact. What we are experiencing here is a mindset with too many kids that you just show up and because you are a Red Rider everything else falls into place. if you were one of those exceptional athletes of yore that prolly worked. When you are not one of those exceptional athletes and just a good athlete you butt has to be in the weight room NOW for next year. There is absolutely no excuse for not being there. You decide, do I want to be successful, or do I want to go thru this again. Everything is in place for you to succeed. Facilities, community support, and whether you agree with their game planning or not I think we can all agree we have dedicated coaches who will be there EVERY step of the way with you. Every step. It is up to the kids. You cannot force them. They have to want it. I hope this year was a wake up call but I don't know if many of them have the mindset to put the work in.

rrfanLook at the passion from the players of the past and fans of the present. We are all still pissed about a game a year later and add 9 more that we are pissed at from this year. I want to see that anger show up in the kids. I don't feel it is there, maybe I am wrong.

You nailed it! Many of the kids on this team could CARE LESS that they went 1-9...thats a FACT! GUTLESS is maybe the word to use! Many of them know of our tradition, but thats where it stops. They hear it, but in one ear and out the other! Everyone of those boys should be pissed off and embarassed...atleast thats how I would expect my son to respond to a pitifull 1-9 season!rrfan;1308636 wrote:Look at the passion from the players of the past and fans of the present. Yes I was at the game and yes I believe we were outcoached . Brenner should've been moved back to wide receiver and Lichti put in at quarterback. He can't throw very accurate short passes but he could throw deep to Brenner and Turner. It would have been another weapon Norwayne would have to defend against.rrfan;1308616 wrote:Troll were you at that game? I am not being a smart #$S I am just curious. I also was hoping to see coach put Brenner back at WR and put Lichti in at QB.....HOWEVER...don't forget that Drew was inserted at QB for ONE REASON...he could RUN the ball. Norwayne made it difficult for Drew to run the ball because they were winning the battle up front! That being said, I think Doug stuck with Drew in that game because if a QB is running for his life...who would you rather have running the ball??? Brenner or Lichti??? I take Brenner all day long!Troll King;1308682 wrote:Yes I was at the game and yes I believe we were outcoached . Brenner should've been moved back to wide receiver and Lichti put in at quarterback. The year Brenner should have played QB was in 2010...we left a state title appearance on the field that year IMO...Brenner would have given us that run option that we didn't have against Chagrin Falls! -

You speak out of both sides of your mouth...Last year because Coach D played Brenner and they lost you wanted Lichti but this year he was horibble and you wanted a switch at QB. Sounds to me no matter what Coach did you would be against it.Troll King;1308682 wrote:Yes I was at the game and yes I believe we were outcoached . scarface1old rider, think you are right on the money here reason Orrville lost to norwayne last year is the fact they got outplayed up front. Norwayne also had some athletes to contain Brenner and Turner. If I remember right Mason was hurting Turner wasn't full speed and Brenner was just coming back from high ankle sprain that he nursed all season. Those three things brought those very good players down to the level of some of Norwaynes kids and the line play was the difference.

No I still think Lichti is a horrible passer but he could throw the long ball and let Brenner make a play for it. with Brenner at wide receiver Norwayne would have to stop double covering Turner. all I was saying is that Lichti could throw the deep ball and let the receivers make a play for it. Brenner was struggling throwing the ball all night why not put Lichti in and at least let him throw the ball deep so your receivers can make a play.rrfan;1308690 wrote:You speak out of both sides of your mouth...Last year because Coach D played Brenner and they lost you wanted Lichti but this year he was horibble and you wanted a switch at QB. I agree Brenner would've made a world of difference against chagrin Falls . Although Devault once again went away from the running game In the second half which was working in the first half , I believe we had over 100 yards rushing In the first half .Old Rider;1308689 wrote:I also was hoping to see coach put Brenner back at WR and put Lichti in at QB.....HOWEVER...don't forget that Drew was inserted at QB for ONE REASON...he could RUN the ball. rrfanTroll who do you want to be the coach? That is your arguement so who is that person? Lets see no teaching jobs, little talent returning, and current coach is a great role model for the kids and community. I will wait for your answer...
