Do you go to the games if so do you really watch them and if so how can you say the quarterback is not the problem. The ball has to be near the wide receivers for them to catch it. He has no problem throwing it to the defense however. I've said before I know there are drops every game but 90% of the passes are uncatchable. After three years he still cannot see the field he still stairs down one receiver and he still cannot look off defenders. He continues to take sacks instead of throwing the ball away, Or worse he tries to force it into double coverage resulting in a pick.Every team we have played this year has a quarterback who's fundamentally superior to ours. Half of those quarterbacks are first-year players ours is a third-year player. I just don't get how you can honestly say our quarterback is not the problem. I guarantee if we had the kid from triway or the kid from Wooster we would've scored alot more touchdowns This year. Oh and by the way those two kids are only sophomores.rrfan;1290270 wrote:The idea was to play Zook on offence this year with defense...then he got hurt week 1. I am glad he is out there at all. So we have seen some changes is that it? We have been talking for weeks about Talent and being rather dry the next few years...So that is what everyone wants is a new QB? That is not the problem right now. -

You nailed this one he makes one bad play and he is done same way on the basketball court.OQB;1290018 wrote:Preston although he has great speed is a head case....he stops giving effort and starts feeling sorry for himself if things don't go his way.
I saw them play Ashland and their offense is just as predictable as ours....and like others have said their defense has plenty of issues.
Let's focus on this week! -

At this point it is what it is. We've all heard your critique. I'm sure his progress isn't what he'd have hoped for. He's done nothing but go out & do everything asked of him to the best of his ability.
I've never met the kid in my life, but appreciate the effort he's put forth. I know this season has been tough on him.
Not too many QB's in Red Rider history can say they've seen 3 years of action as the starting varsity QB...regardless of how it turned out.
I'm not singling you out...just making a general point. Season hasn't gone like we wanted...but it is what it is. Tough year in a really tough conference without a lot of playmakers. Lost a lot to graduation and had a team that never really had an identity.
Every kid on this team is a Red Rider..no amount of wins makes any team more or less of a Red Rider. Kids are working hard but they're down...because losing sucks.
The least we can do as fans is support. There'll be plenty of time for questions & discussion after the season. -

rrfanTroll yes attend the games and I see a QB that is consistantly picking the ball off the ground, running for his life, and has WR's that could not catch unless the ball sticks in the facemask. You want to fix this team get a center, then a line, then some WR's and then you can complain to me about a QB.

When you make that statement, then you need to answer this question;rrfan;1290233 wrote:...It is not like I see kids standing on the sideline that should be on the field...
Why do you have football players dressed, on the sideline, that "shouldn't see the field"?
What's the point of having 40+ dressed and only playing 15? Obviously, there are those that are more skilled in some areas than others, however, as a coach with the staff he has available, you need to work them to prepare them all. -

With all that said, what are the coaches doing to make any of them better? But, Troll King still has a point, many times when the ball is thrown, acuracy is lacking, and that hasn't changed from last year either.rrfan;1290901 wrote:Troll yes attend the games and I see a QB that is consistantly picking the ball off the ground, running for his life, and has WR's that could not catch unless the ball sticks in the facemask. Old RiderWhen your scoring only 6 points a game it is a combination of everyone not playing well. The QB has not played well, the WR's have not played well, the O-line has struggled, the play calling has been boring, the opposing team is better, and we simply do not have playmakers!

Series you can not be serious. Even for you!!! There are always kids on the sideline that should not see the field on Friday Night unless you are winning by 60 pts. This is not pre school that is the truth. -
OQBHere are the minutes from the booster club meeting:
Football
Coach Davault reported that the middle school teams have not been able to get into the win column yet. *The freshman also continue to struggle. *The JV team is 3-3. *We are battling a couple injuries at this time at the varsity level. *We finish the season with Ashland, Madison, Clear Fork and Wooster. -

Wow What a terrible thing to say. Those kids are part of the team as well, they bust there ass in practice just like the other's. For you to say they should never see the field unless it's a blowout speaks volumes for your character. This team stinks, do you think they don't deserve a shot. they can't be any worse than what we have on the field presently.rrfan;1290947 wrote:Series you can not be serious. Even for you!!! This is only my opinion and I have said it before, but I really think we need to explore a new league or options to form a league. Our pee-wee teams play Wayne County teams and then they get to 7th grade and BOOM...here is the OCC. The participation numbers are down and we are going to be a D5 team next season.
I agree that playing the bigger schools helps us prepare for the playoffs, but when we are average at best...we cant even compete in this league...heck, are three most recent playoff teams didn't even win the league.
Maybe that is not the answer, but I think playing schools of similar size, enrollment, participation numbers is just the logical thing to do...IMO -

CCRollyWill it come to a point where Orrville considers going Independant again?
-
OQB
I doubt it....That just becomes a scheduling nightmare and some sports won't play a full season, like you would in a league.CCRolly;1291134 wrote:Will it come to a point where Orrville considers going Independant again? -

I dont see us going indepenent again just because of the scheduling issues that OQB mentioned. But it would be better than the OCC...IMO.CCRolly;1291134 wrote:Will it come to a point where Orrville considers going Independant again?
I know something similar to this was thrown around last year...(plus a couple I can't remember)
Canton CC
St. Thomas Aq.
Barberton
Cloverleaf
Medina Highland

jacoI know Wooster's getting more and more disgusted with the OCC shenanigans. The officiating has been awful at every level over in Richland County. I'd venture that Orrville's kids get the same home cooking when playing on the road. I wouldn't quite yet give up hope of a new conference. And I don't like complaining about officiating, but what I've seen... it's bad.

I know at Lex and Ashland there were some VERY QUESTIONABLE calls...its been that way since the league started and I'm sure they feel the same when they come to Wayne Co.jaco;1291155 wrote:I know Wooster's getting more and more disgusted with the OCC shenanigans. The worst thing about going to Richland Co. (well Mansfield Sr) is that the kids are told not to bring Ipods, cell phones, head phones, etc because they won't have them when its time to leave. 2 years ago our freshman squad had nearly $1000 worth of gadgets stolen!
