unc4lifejaco, im sure if Wooster was winning you wouldnt have a problem, same with Orrville. Orrville has a chance to move on and find a new conference. I would love to see Wooster leave and try to find somewhere else. Where are you going to go? Go towards Akron and play the big boys again, or stay around here and pick up a bunch of small schools.

Well sometimes the truth hurts. There is not one person on this thread that does not think the same way. The problem is we are in a society where everyone should win and all get blue ribbons. That is crap and we all know it. In life not everyone wins and on the sideline not everyone is good enough to play. I will offer my opinion because I know Red Rider Nation values it, sometimes the three amigos, Nation, Troll, and Series, actually have valid points, it’s just that they have the delivery of a Russian prison guard. I agree for the most part rrfan, that Kyle has had his hands full, this year with receivers and snaps, and a host of other things, but it is obvious the kid has heart and grit, in saying that, I agree with most of you, run, run, run, I really don’t care what offensive set, they use, but let’s run the ball more. Second summers needs to be part of the offense, have him lead block, for the two sophomores, or put him back at center, he did a great job there, but he is to valuable to be on the sidelines. Third Zook should be a big part of the offense, the coaches deserve a pat on the back, they eased him back in after his injury, and hopefully we will see him on offense this week, when he was in last year the kid was explosive. Last this might be a stretch, but I would like to see Brown on the outside of the defensive line, they seem to run away from him up the middle, but he is usually doubled teamed, I would like to see him, one on one with a tackle, for as big as he is he’s pretty fast and strong, I think I’ve seen four times he kicks off and then gets down for the tackle, it would be nice to see the other qb scramble. Who knows that might open up the middle too much? A final thought I feel for the Coaches, it has to be hard to start to plan for next year, how do you look your seniors in the eye that have work hard for you for the last four years, and say, hey we are building for next year, take a seat, I think you are starting to see a little of that already, just saying that has to be tuff I would not want to walk that line. Summers, Zook & Brown...likely 3 captains next year...all are talented & hard working kids that will be counted on to be leaders next year.

Red Rider NationIm heading to the Triway/Manchester game Friday. A Must win game for both teams should be a good game. I struck out last week with Massillon/Austintown as it was a blowout.

It isn't and never has been about ripping you or anyone else to shreds. Being a senior does not make you a leader! Is every senior on the team a starter? If so, they aren't leading by example nor setting the standard of your rtr. Having to replace them is part of life, there again, a teaching moment! It may be tough, but that's coaching!
At times, you might have a leader in one of your freshman. You have to be observant beyond just dismissing them as simply a freshman.
A good example; when Robert Griffin III joined the Redskins, he is a rookie, he is along with other draftees among the youngest, but by the end of training camp, the entire team looked to him as a leader.

I'm sure you meant to include Andrew Luck in your example as well...he's assumed a leadership role with the Colts too as a rookie. There was one on the Orrville team in 1998! With his back against the wall and just over a minute on the clock he drove his team down the field and scored the winning TD. He proved himself over and over that he was a great leader even as a freshman -

No I am not one of those people. I am however someone who thinks if the people on the field are not getting it done maybe you should give one of those kids on the sideline a chance . You know the ones that you say should never see the field . Who knows maybe they can do just as good a job as the ones on the field they certainly probably couldn't do much worse .
