That poster's or posters job/s was threatened, the threads shut down and the suspensions handed out were for libelous comments posted by said individual/s about alleged activities of the former coach that had nothing to do with his basketball coaching philosophy. If you're going to "remember", remember correctly and stop trying to get people to lean your way with lies and bull****!

You and others critiqued him after every game, win or lose, but you were never "bashing" were you?
I'm pretty sure you were at every booster club meeting, did you question/critique him about his philosophy then?
Never once did you announce nor remind anyone of the booster club meetings then!
He may not have won any playoff games, however, he upheld your RTR and never posted a losing season in a tougher division every year that he coached!

You always made the statement about fan apathy, bring your tail out of the pressbox and experience it now!

Nope. Threads were shut down because you couldn't take any criticism. Wasn't libelous any more than what I've read on this site the past few weeks. My criticisms were always grounded in what I observed on the court...much like a lot of you are doing now. But those threads were shut down and idle threats made, yet it's open season now apparently.

Sucks when your hypocrisy & double standards come back to bite you doesn't it?

Just throwing the same logic right back at you about talking to the coach face to face. You told us our critiques held no water if we didn't do it that way. Same standard applies here, no?

Of course it's different now as you don't have a dog in the hunt this time around.

Considering the contents of the post and the former coach is still employed teaching at the school, what do you think?!!!

Well you post so much crap, I don't believe any of it. The teachers union prob saved his job for whatever heinous act he may have been accused of. Certainly speculation.

    What are you talking about?

I didn't shut nor cause any threads to be shut down. The thread I believe you're talking about was shut down because of what one person posted and accused of the former coach. The thread was removed prior to my reading it and I've made no threats to anyone.

There is no hypocracy or double standard to bite me nor logic to throw at me.
When I had an issue to discuss with coach Davault, I did!
Did you carry your issues to the former basketball coach?

No, I don't have a son playing football at this time, that is why I don't need to talk with the coach!
That doesn't however prohibit me from offering an opinion about the game.

It might be crap, but it's not lying!
Perhaps a union saved the posters job!
Why don't you ask the trustworthy posters on here!
    Don't read my crap!
Do you really think I care what you believe?

Again, using your logic... I didn't have a kid who played for the former coach, so no need to discuss anything with him.

Was just a fan with an opinion.

Thanks for the background on your dealings with the current football coach.

I am not going to question the coach's decision making.....YET....but I think it is definately time to give every offensive snap to Bryce and Martvious needs to be on the field ALL the time.

GET OUT OF THE SPREAD....PLEASE!!! We look absolutely clueless on offense. We just do not have the right mix to run that offense...simple.

These last couple of weeks will test the kids mental toughness..keep your heads up and keep working hard.

Great post. Why run the spread if it hasnt worked at ALL this year. Sad we are in Week 7 and still talking about the spread not working! hmmmm who's decision is that?

Im going to the Massillon/Ausintown game Friday. Excited to see 2 GOOD teams play. Im sure both coaches will be fun to watch. Amazing what teams can do with good coaches! Some talent too but coaches that get the MOST out of what they have. Should be fun!

Since Hall took the job at Massillon in 2008, he has 35 total wins....the same amount of wins that Doug Davault has in that same time frame.

Hall has 3 playoff wins at Massillon since being hired in 2008, Davault has 6 since 2008.

Just thought you'd like that. What a terrible coach we have. LOL.

I love the "some talent" comment. Massillon has gobs of talent every year. Their QB in going to Cincy & two way talent Conley is going to Michigan. Still...little old Orrville has more playoff appearances, more playoff wins, more regional championships & more on-field state titles than our neighbors to the east.

Series can't take his own medicine. I love it. He has no logic and redrider1 is eating his lunch. The "other coach" appearing on this thread had tons of talent and spoiled it. Coach Davault right now has basically no talent. That is the difference. Let me add !!!***** ****!!! so series knows I mean business. Lol.

The head official was Travis Snyder - 95 Triway grad. One of the line judges was his older brother Bart..93 or 94 Triway grad. Brent Campbell is also on that crew...former Waynedale baseball coach. They are actually a well respected crew in this area and I know T. Snyder does NCAC games and OAC games...both D3 college leagues.

And yes...the pass interference call stunk...but it didn't have any factor in our big "0" on offense and giving up 40+

This. Bad calls will happen. We've let those kind of things ( and big plays ) derail us all year.

So Massillon has had the same talent as Orrville the last 3 years sending kids to D1 and you want to say Davault is better? What time is Thanksgiving dinner at the Davault house for you and your family? I know you have to stay positve and all but be realistic for god's sake! You know it is much more difficult to compete in D1 then in D4. If Orrville had all the college D1 talent and only won 6 playoff games that is not saying much about your boy! Pathetic really. I can assure you of some things I wont see in Massillon on Friday; coaches running players in and out of the game with plays, a coach standing 30 yds away from his team the whole game and not saying a word, a lack of discipline and conditioning, and most importantly i will not see a bad product out on the field! I will see kids who are better in Week 7 then in Week 1 and coaches that are intense and run on and off the field and lead by example! ALL THINGS THAT DONT EXIST ANYMORE IN ORRVILLE!!!

you cannot possibly go there, with the schedule Massillon plays really? How do you think Orrville would fair against St. Ignatius or Steubenville and the other teams Massillon plays every year. As for playoffs again day and night difference in the type of teams played. Also you can't say anything about their state championships that was the system in place at the time and if Orrville had those so-called paper titles no one on here would be saying a word about that.

The beauty of this thread is that many of you are ticked off. what a beautiful thing. I hope that desire for winning never ends here...RTR. some of you stay positive because that is how you cope...or you have vested interest with a family or close friend or co-workers kid(s) you follow. Some are sooo ticked because you want more than what you seeing and that's OK too. Me, I'm not happy about losing, but I know what kind of men are leading these kids and they do things right. I don't know if they are guru coaches. show me a guru coach and I'll show you some talent on the team as well. We are young and small and don't seem to have that "guy" or "guys" to bail us out this year. We have been small and very limited in numbers for some time now....but we have been blessed with that "guy"...take your pick
    Hiller
    Brenner X 2
    Simmons
    Bescancon
    Miller
    Hoobler
    Turner
    Monheim
    Bowman
    etc...
  • RedRider1
I didn't say anyone is better than anyone, just shared statistics. They both have the same amount of wins since 2008 and Davault has more playoff wins. Do with that what you will.

Sure would be nice to have a town of 30,000+ to pull kids from every year. Odds are pretty good that any coach could pull together a competitive team in that environment.

Enjoy the game..you'll be right in your element..lots of fans that take their football way too seriously over in Massillon & like to run their mouth...especially after a few beers.

hell if our coaches ran off the field I think the cardiac unit at the hospital would be pretty busy, by the looks of those physiques.

Massillon hasn't played Iggy for 3 years now.

And of course we'd never compete against their schedule...it's all D1 & 2. Apples & oranges....but that's the system in place right? Playoffs are playoffs.

Great post 5knots. Regardless of your feelings about me I have always respected you and your family and the support you continue to give at Orrville. I really enjoy watching Mason on Saturdays and he is just one heck of a player and an even better kid. As far as the coaching guru thing i will give you one; Norwayne! How many kids from last year's team did they send to a D1 college??? ZERO! That is a team with a coach that has a refuse to lose attitude. He gets the best out of the players he has and that is obvious. Talent? Yes they were talented but they just had a great gameplan every game last year and the kids executed on that gameplan! They were not intimidated by Orrville or Kenton for that matter or anyone else who stood in their way. They were just a D5 school playing up for their first year in D4 and cleaned house. What that coach has done over there is impressive. Nobody and I mean nobody in their right mind should or could compare Davault to that guy. Orrville continues to talk about tradition while kids from neighboring communities are hitting the weight room and watching films and working hard to get better. Yes the tradition at Orrville is great but that is NOT intimdating anyone who plays us and it shouldnt!

Good point about "that guy." Shortage of them this year. Athletes for sure, but athletes don't always equal football players.

Speed doesn't always equal football speed either.

Red Rider Nation, is going to the Massillon/Austintown game, maybe the fans of these two teams will realize what a positive force he is to the team and community as a whole, not to mention all the football experience and knowledge he brings. I say even though it would be an irreplaceable asset to the team and coaching staff, we auction off Red Rider Nation unyielding positive influence and patronage to all that are blessed to be in his magnificent presence, and he could become a fan of either school. Then we could use the revenue this auction would bring, to buy something for the football stadium. I know its Aiming high but with his vast knowledge I bet we could have enough to get a new urinal cake for our new restroom.

    Who will start the bidding?

I for one will miss you, but what a blessing you would be to Austintown or Massillon.
