Bloody ToothbrushNut...
don't get me started on Mo Tipton......it's one thing to win by 50 because your team is just that good
......it's quite another when you're winning by 50 and Tipton has the tailback doing handstands in the backfield.
now that is lack of class. -

footballnutSorry about that, my computer went crazy on me. What I meant to say is " I think we all agreed a long time ago that Paul is a fool"

Way to Bobcat, Being politically correct will only get you eaten alive. Just some info two ooc teams Wellington & CVCA are in the top 8 of their Region, The Cats were called of in those games also. The weak teams we play are in the WCL. Change it!Bobcat;934935 wrote:Enough is enough with the Norwayne is running the score up BS. They definitely are not and anyone that has played them knows they're not. Last night was a product of the defense scoring......in a hurry. We scored 2 defensive TD's in 9 seconds in the 3rd qtr. I think we ended up having a 34 point quarter and pulled the 1's before the qtr was over. Quit complaining. If you get on here and say they're running it up then you're either not at the game or you're not paying attention. Our coaches have agonized with how to handle this. If they wanted to pile it on the scoring records in question would have been destroyed along time ago. I've been very complimentary and politically correct with my posts on here but the fact is Norwayne so far has been a scoring machine. We are scoring 53 points a game in 3 quarters or less per game. If they wanted to they could be scoring 70 per game. I dont want to hear about strength of schedule. We play the same WCAL teams that everyone else plays. In addtition to that our OOC schedule I believe is 16 - 8 on the year. Again....enough is enough -
Bloody ToothbrushPaul....
The reason you get eaten alive is because you're stupid. political correctness has nothing to do with it. -
Dmax1if you were at norwaynes game to see that the d-fence scored two tds and the 2nd team rbs scored 2 times in the 3rd quarter then ran out the clock for 8 mins in 3rd and all the 4th.
-
Dmax1I like everyons post about Norwayne running the score up. I think Chris Speelmen said it best "Its not our job to stop us, thats the other teams job.

well said.. great postO-Trap;935074 wrote:Paul,
If you never "replyed" to them, then why did you address them ... even quote them (see your own posts #2932)? That's the equivalent to me quoting your post here ... and then not addressing it. If you actually did that, you make no sense. Otherwise, you missed his point.
Now, as far as "negative thinking," I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that what you think and say here on a message board is not going to affect the Bobcats team. If you want them to win it all, fantastic, but that doesn't mean you have to abandon the reality that the teams they are playing are among the best they'll play this year, so oldsmithie's scenario, albeit speculative, is not only possible, but not unprecedented. If your fan-hood causes you to be out of touch with the potential realities, then don't expect others to take you seriously.
The Bobcats may indeed win it all. That is one possible outcome. However, to suggest that it's the only possible outcome is naive.
As for the "measure while you run" comment, that made no sense. But maybe you're not replying to me with that ... even though you quoted me and addressed me by name.
At this point, I'm pretty sure even your Bobcat brethren on this thread realize how foolish you sound ... exacerbated when you try to call someone else stupid for merely pointing out the potential outcomes going forward. -

Cats are having a GREAT year. You are correct in saying the weak teams you play are in the WCAL. That also isnt a traditional WCAL record.Paul;935086 wrote:Way to Bobcat, Being politically correct will only get you eaten alive. Not so fast El Guapo! It has just come of late that Norwayne has risen to the top....and it has never been a sustained perch. Keep that in mind.
If history serves me correct, and this is just off the top of my head....Norwaynes 1st win....or perhaps 1st win in about 20 years against the Golden Bears came in 1986. You still have some catching up to do!
Beast will be cheering ya on in the playoffs hoping the Bobcats make a stellar run! -

The incident I was referring to took place in the early-mid 70's. Football was less "touchy feely" back then I was told. Coaches like Mo Tipton would show no mercy and expect none in return
I used to attend games with a retired ref (R.I.P-Wayne) who worked alot of Orrville games, he never had a problem with Tipton except when he would pull that kind of stuff. Tipton deserves all the accolades accorded him but like all other great coaches.....he had his less than stellar moments.
His favorite Tipton moment was when Mo yelled "YOU STINK!!!" after a call he didn't like
the ref just smiled, picked up the ball, walked 15 yards back and said...."How do I smell from here"
that was followed by a profanity laced tirade from both parties and another 15 yards.
all ended well for Mo....they won by 3 or 4 touchdowns. -
BRF
He's BRF's neighbor and a really nice guy! In the old days of the AOC, the other teams referred to us as "Scoreville"!BEARIDER;935232 wrote:That would have been charlie B. in 72 ? -
Red RumLookout folks, the WCAL has some interesting games this week.
Northwestern/Waynedale has some potential. Last week they tried to ban Falcs and the bell, this week the plan is to attempt to claim the Waynedale busses are weapons of mass destruction and ban them. The stupidity of some of the Husky zealots is the reason I haven't been to a home game in 4 years. I still love Thut and the team though, here's hopin' the Huskies prevail.
The Big game is Smithville/Norwayne, the Cats will probably rough the Smithies up, but you never know. Smithville has a chance, not a very big one, but better than any of the other WCAL teams so far. I'm hoping it's a hard fought game where the Cats get their starters some much needed 4th quarter time. I pretty much see Norwaynes offense (especially the passing game) being too much for the Smithies.
Dalton gets to take it's frustrations out on Chippewa this week and home is the perfect place to do it.
and Hillsdale/Rittman, MAJOR UPSET!!!!! Coach Dennis WR screen game comes together in a 55-8 rout of the Falcons.
just kiddin' Hillsdale rolls up the leaderless tribe. game over at halftime. -
BRFAnd since no one is talking tonight, BRF will take a moment to make a statement.
I think that the comparisons of Norwayne this year to Genoa in the past two years is valid.
First off, I do not believe that Norwayne is intentionally running up the scores. They are very good. That's what happens when you play weak teams in the regular season.
Over to Genoa. They play a weak OOC schedule and are in a weak league. In the previous two seasons, they put a pounding on teams during the regular season. Them kicking field goals on first down was for real. But once they got to the play-offs, then they stepped into new territory. Back to that in a moment.
Norwayne, though, on the other hand, has a pretty good OOC schedule and did very well, but is saddled with the way the WCAL is this year. So, it's a valid point for discussion about the starters being pulled early and how will they handle this in the post-season.
Genoa faced this problem and, imo, handled it pretty well, especially in 2009. In that big game we had against them at Ashland, we got off to a good lead early, but then had to fight like hell to win it. Their starters were in the whole way and were putting it to us in the 4th quarter with a furious rally, but we ended up holding them off and winning 36-35. So my point is that maybe NOT having the starters play a full game isn't that big of a deal. Perhaps the starters know this and are more than willing and ready.
In 2010 when we met Genoa again, they seemed a little more "grounded" by what happened, but we ended up pretty much dominating them to win. They are very frustrated with being able to kick everyone's butts in their area, but then reaching a dead end in the play-offs.
This is what Norwayne needs to guard against. I have every expectation that the starters know what the deal is and are ready to accept the post-season challenge. The Norwayne posters on here, imo, are not half as cocky as the Genoa posters were. My advice is to watch out for those "crowing" comments and just take one game at a time. Like people on here have said, that's why you play the game.
Stay grounded.
BRF stepping off the soap box. -
BobcatYou are correct BRF. Everyone is silent all of a sudden....odd.
I agree with a lot of what BRF says and appreciate the fact that at least someone is in agreement with the fact that we are not running up the score.
I think that the days of our starters sitting out the 4th is over. Smithville and Hillsdale pose big challenges for us. We will get an acurate feel for who we are this Friday. If we are fortunate and get a win we'll have to get back up to play an undefeated Hillsdale team the following week. It's very exciting but it is definitely going to be a test for the Cats. -

you have to play the game....i was impressed with the effort to sub on Norwaynes part once the game was in hand. You simply cannot expect your 2's and 3's or even freshmen to not try to find paydirt! Enjoy the ride!!!Bobcat;936143 wrote:You are correct BRF. Everyone is silent all of a sudden....odd.
