Actually, Coach Williams discontinued the use of the powder blue and went to dark blue at Hillsdale, maybe that is all that was needed?

Also interested to see who wins "tier two" with waynedale facing northwestern and dalton the last 2 weeks. These games will mean a lot for these young teams going into next season. As far as Dalton playing hard all game - that is what has impressed me all year. A lot of that credit has to go to coach Doty. It would be easy for a team full of 9th and 10th graders to pack it in but I haven't seen them do that. Bodes well for the future.

I actually credit the entire coaching staff keeping our boys positive:thumbup:

congrats to the bears for getting back in the win column. Doylestown's streak is now at 21.

Also was 69 points really neccesary?! i think that will come back and bite norwayne in the future when daltons young talent emerges and they remember this game.

Smithville will compete with norwayne. this game is huge for everyone over in smithville. playoffs on the line, league title, and shrock needs 2 more wins to get to 250! i was really impressed with smithvilles running backs last night. they ran real hard and were pretty fast once they got into the open field.

I, for one, will not be attending the Rittman game this week. Hillsdale could easily drop 70 points but they have more class than that (Norwayne). I'm gonna be heading over to Smithville to watch Shrock get number 249

Im proud of The Bears for keeping their heads up and not hanging up the season. Nice to get back on track. Was a brutal 3 week run....finish strong!

Good Lord, Paul you are an idiot! You can't get the message from a simple story. I will no longer acknowledge you on this forum.

    Fixed for accuracy.

Smithville is on their own tier this year. Head-and-shoulders over 5 teams. Clearly beneath 2.

I don't think they're gonna get blown out, but Smithville will not win this game.

I actually was surprised how they got hawked several times downfield. They hit holes HARD, but they're not going to outrun whole defenses.

LOL! I wish this was gonna happen!

Technically, he HAS been right so far.

O-trap ??? How was paul technically or any other way right in his response to my statement? He did not get the meaning to the 2003 reference I made and I guess you did not either? I am talking about one post! not all the othe things he says.

Ah, in that case we've just got a failure to communicate.

I know a little bit about the year you're talking about. I know what you were talking about in regard to a potential three-way tie. I took Paul's statement to mean that he doesn't think it will happen. So far, he has been correct about Norwayne so far, so maybe he's right.

    That's all I was saying.

Does anybody know if a website or publication is in existence that covers the history of the WCL/WCAL and its records, etc. ?

I've seen this kind of stuff on other conferences like the NOL, and books that cover the OHSAA playoff history but never anything from the WCAL.

Ok Old smittie I tried to be nice. If you don't get aboard with the style of football played by the Bobcats you will be left behind. If WCAL upgrades it will be great for the league. 3 yards and a cloud of dust will not win championships anymore. Save me a seat.

Actually, 3 yards every play will win you 15 games a year, because you'll score every drive and you'll eat up clock.

Look kid, you're a fan of the team who is atop the league right now. That's awesome.

But people said what you're saying now 10 years ago. Guess what? In that span, all kinds of offenses have won. The style of offense means nothing. The best team wins, and that could be a 3-yard run team or a 5-wide team.

You missed his point, which is that it is still possible for any of the current top 3 teams to take at least part of the conference. That's not without precedent, as it happened not that long ago. Again, that was his point.

Enough is enough with the Norwayne is running the score up BS. They definitely are not and anyone that has played them knows they're not. Last night was a product of the defense scoring......in a hurry. We scored 2 defensive TD's in 9 seconds in the 3rd qtr. I think we ended up having a 34 point quarter and pulled the 1's before the qtr was over. Quit complaining. If you get on here and say they're running it up then you're either not at the game or you're not paying attention. Our coaches have agonized with how to handle this. If they wanted to pile it on the scoring records in question would have been destroyed along time ago. I've been very complimentary and politically correct with my posts on here but the fact is Norwayne so far has been a scoring machine. We are scoring 53 points a game in 3 quarters or less per game. If they wanted to they could be scoring 70 per game. I dont want to hear about strength of schedule. We play the same WCAL teams that everyone else plays. In addtition to that our OOC schedule I believe is 16 - 8 on the year. Again....enough is enough

I actually agree with most of your post - that being said, you have to acknowledge that this is just not a good year in the wcl - they would be leading the league and scoring a ton of points most years in the league, this year it becomes even more one - sided - i don't think there is any doubt about that. Again, there is nothing they can do about that. They are certainly taking care of things on their end. People are just wondering if this could come into play later, which is certainly a valid question.

Sing it Bobcat. It's good to hear you say what is actually on your mind. I'm an Orrville guy and we have never made excuses for our great teams. You shouldn't either. Back in the day Mo wouldn't have been nearly as gracious as your coaches. I've been to 2 of the Cats games and Bobcat is right they have definetly called of the dogs. I would love to have seen them put 4 quarters up on some of these peoples teams that are on here bitchin. They probably would have scored 100. All of you have given it out at some point....take it when its your turn

chill down a little that's part of the deal where norwayne stands at right now ! not much the kids or coaching staff can do about it . its part of the gm. every top school gets the same treatment in the same spot where norwayne's at !!

I never missed any point just never replyed to them. Why would I reply Hillsdale beat Smithville, Smithville beats Bobcats, Bobcats beat Hillsdale, 3 way tie. Negtive thinking, I think Bobcats go win it all. O-trap wait awhile and I will measure while you run. gee thats stupid.

I thought we all agreed about 30 pages ago that nobody really had a problem with scores that get ugly......sure, it stings when you're on the wrong end but it happens to everyone.

    Paul,

If you never "replyed" to them, then why did you address them ... even quote them (see your own posts #2932)? That's the equivalent to me quoting your post here ... and then not addressing it. If you actually did that, you make no sense. Otherwise, you missed his point.

Now, as far as "negative thinking," I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that what you think and say here on a message board is not going to affect the Bobcats team. If you want them to win it all, fantastic, but that doesn't mean you have to abandon the reality that the teams they are playing are among the best they'll play this year, so oldsmithie's scenario, albeit speculative, is not only possible, but not unprecedented. If your fan-hood causes you to be out of touch with the potential realities, then don't expect others to take you seriously.

The Bobcats may indeed win it all. That is one possible outcome. However, to suggest that it's the only possible outcome is naive.

As for the "measure while you run" comment, that made no sense. But maybe you're not replying to me with that ... even though you quoted me and addressed me by name.

At this point, I'm pretty sure even your Bobcat brethren on this thread realize how foolish you sound ... exacerbated when you try to call someone else stupid for merely pointing out the potential outcomes going forward.
