You sure about that, b/c it sure looked like they were dry the entire time. I think their cleats were longer also. And when the ball boys threw out the balls for us, they were dripping wet, while Big Reds, were dry as a bone!!!FairwoodKing wrote:

It rained on Big Red, too, you know. -

I dont joke here, teh internests iz cerius bizzness!!Al Capone wrote:
I'm pretty sure you're joking which is cool, but as a neutral fan that attended that game, big red would have beat Massillon no matter what the weather. Just my honest opinion. -
FairwoodKingGetting back to Big Red's schedule, when are they going to post it? I heard two weeks ago that the schedule was complete except for a couple of contracts that were still in the mail.
-
FairwoodKingI see that our friend from Buckeye Local is already beginning to knock us because we are playing Morgantown. True, Morgantown is not likely to be the toughest team on our schedule, but they are still a Div. I school that wins games and will give us some computer points. For anyone from Buckeye to criticize our schedule is downright weird. Buckeye plays such a weak schedule that they were not nearly ready for the playoffs last year. They need to beef up their schedule if they want to go anywhere. They should start by playing us. I'm sure Reno and Fred would be amicable to the idea.

war_admiralI love how fans of schools that have no consistency what so ever, knock big red. Win something. Win your league. Win a playoff game. Win your region. Win a Region Championship. Win or at the very least PLAY in a State Championship. Then defend that championship.
Then for the next 26 years, be the man! Till then, just be happy with beating the future farmers of the world.
Respectfully,

Your argument doesn't hold water. Didn't Buckeye Local lose the 1994 Division II State Championshiop to Chardon? I think that is correct. -
SykotykI think the key point was 'consistency'. Buckeye Local may have had a 'magical season', but they surely aren't playing at that level consistently.
Sykotyk -
ferflogPlayoffs last two years???

d.woods50fan.
And the "consistency" was one in done.ferflog wrote: Playoffs last two years??? -
Rebel_ I.N.S.Hey guys BL has "consistency" they been beaten in the playoffs the last 2 season now thats "consistency". Baby step BL you have to start somewhere.

Any team that has actually been state runner-up should not be taking baby steps. If Buckeye Local expects to win in the playoffs, they will have to beef up their schedule. Big Red wins the region almost every year and sometimes goes all the way by warming up with teams like Massillon, Woodland Hills, Poland, Inkster, and Ursuline. BL plays nobody. They should at least schedule Big Red. It would be a local game with a huge crowd. Big Red has already played them in their stadium, so a home-and-home contract would be a strong possiblity.Rebel_ I.N.S. wrote: Hey guys BL has "consistency" they been beaten in the playoffs the last 2 season now thats "consistency". FairwoodKingI'm going to go out on limb and predict that Big Red will play Brooke this year and that the 2010 game will be in Wellsburg. The reason I say that the first game of the home and home will be at their place is because Big Red only has two away games definitely scheduled. I'm sure we will play a third.
Has Brooke released its final schedule to prove me right or wrong? -
Strapping Young LadYou're really looking forward to this schedule, aren't you???

Notice I said "SCHOOLS" not Buckeye Local and I did say "CONSISTENCY" FerFlog I was heading off all those posters that will pile on us at this time of year with.... we don't play anyone, 10 home games etc. But they support teams with no consistency and have not won anything.ferflog wrote: war admiral:

And to your point about BuckCry. 43-55 and 3 playoff appearances in the last decade is NOT consistency. Look, I want everyone and anyone in the Valley to succeed. That way the valley is represented well. In regards to football that is. -

Yes I am. I take after my late father. I get very excited about Big Red football. Besides, I am seriously thinking about flying home this fall to see a game or two, so I would like to start making plans now.Strapping Young Lad wrote: You're really looking forward to this schedule, aren't you??? -
FairwoodKingTell me more about the team that Big Red has coming back. How many starters are back from last year? I know we have to replace the qb and a few other spots, but how much experience will we have this year? I know that the way Reno hustles guys in and out, everone get experience. That's one of the reasons why we win so many games.
At any rate, can anyone give me a position by position breakdown of what we have returning? -

If that were the case why would you keep insulting a valley school? -
war_admiral
Because when we played them both times that's all they did....cried. When they came to play us in 90' they complained to the state about our Horse, the Horses eye, the fire and the horn. Hence the nickname not an insult. Like Creeksters for the Creek and Rentral for Catholic Central because they rent our stadium.Darkon wrote:

ManO'WarAnd in 1990 we weren't even allowed to use the horse until after the game was over.
-
FairwoodKingI have begun to change my mind about wanting Big Red to play local teams. They are more trouble than they're worth. They break contracts with us, they don't bring as many fans as you would anticipate, and they complain about everything. Let them stay in the Buckeye 8 or the OVAC. We don't need them!
-
FairwoodKingLet's get back to Big Red's schedule. As I said before, I am interested in this because I hope to fly home for a game this fall. If I am going to spend upwards of a thousand dollars, I want to see a competitive game.
I have heard rumors that we will play Glenville, Pittsburgh CC, Gateway, Ursuline, Brooke, Morgantown, DC Gonzaga, and about a dozen other teams. So far the only ones that have been confirmed are Ursuline and Morgantown. It will be interesting to see who we actually do play. And again, I want to pick a good to come home to see.
The only reason I would not make the trip is because it would be so sad to come home without Dad. We were going to attend the Massillon game last year, but his health fell apart and he passed away in July. If I do come home, it will be in his memory.
I apologize for referring to my father so many times. I'm sure all of you already know that we were planning to attend the Massillon game last year and that he passed away. But I miss him very much. He was not just my father, he was my best friend. I keep his picture in my office and I look at it every day. I still cry over him even though he has been gone almost eight months. He was also one of Big Red's biggest fans of alltime. If any of you have lost someone special in your life, you know how I feel. -
ryan_nolanWell I had you all hooked up and ready to go last year Fairwood, so if you would like to come in this year I will make sure you have great seats, you have my word.

Strapping Young LadI don't why you just don't book the tickets for Massillon weekend, Fairwood. Even though it's on the road, it's the best atmosphere you'll find at a HS game.
