Orrville Red Rider Football 2011

You keep Mason at tailback...simple really. Sure you can give him a break once in a while, but like 5knots said the way he is running the ball right now, you leave him in there.

With Zook hurt, it's a no-brainer really. Of course, if the "you don't lose your position because of injury" adage applies here, Joel should get his spot back at TB once healthy. What about those 2 in a split back formation....wouldn't tip our hand as much before the ball is snapped.

Not to be a thorn to anyone but Joel was running tail because matt davis went down at H back. Hence Mason back to the H. By anyone's math these are great problems to have. Joel is a bit faster back but Mason has that ability to break tackles. I assume that is the difference between 180lbs coming at you versus 220lbs. It will be nice to have everyone healthy down the trail here a bit.

Coach D talked about the 2 back formation for last couple years with Tre and Mason but never followed though. That is a run between the tackles formation so to speak and we have had minimal success at that.It is definitely something to keep in mind and I am sure the staff is aware. May depend on who we play against? and what their strengths and weaknesses are.

    Such a thorn..... :)

Good point though. Joel is definately a talented piece that we need back on both sides of the ball.

Hope as a team we're in for a stretch where we're healthy and have everyone back for the stretch run.

Forget the 2 back set....go with the 3! I say go to the Maryland I, Full house, Wishbone with Mason, Matt, and Joel! :D

haha kidding aside, this is a good problem to have because we have so many options to go to. Coach Davault will do the right thing, the kids want to win, the coaches want to win, and the fans want to win. We don't care who is running the ball as long as the job gets done and we are winning when the 4th qtr clock hits 0:00.

Should I front the money to the club to ensure certain kids continue to get undeserved playing time? We're all about favors and special treatment in this town you know.

Saw Matt Davis running down high street tonight wearing his brace. He stopped for a break at my place of employment and stretched and adjusted his brace then went right back to running. Looks like he is moving pretty good, but I could tell by the look on his face their was some pain still.....which should be expected. Needless to say, can't wait to get him back on the field where he wants to be.

We should do the same by dropping triway.

I hear you brother ! I have seen favoritism many times in my 40 yrs. of following orrville sports. No matter what some people say on here it does happen. It is what it is.

No I didn't put on the red, black and white on Friday nights! And I taught my sons that the uniform does make you who you are...that belongs to Jesus!

You didn't have to say worshipped/glorified, I said it because that's how many of you sound. My son enjoyed much success as a track athlete, the red, black and white nor the name blessed him with speed, God did that!

The school, the team, the colors were blessed to have people like him, Monheim, Hobbler, Robinson's, Zwuick, Ray and especially Denson to step into that uniform.

And to that end...you and more of you that put on that uniform on Friday night should be "INSULTED" that one of your best isn't in your own Hall of Fame!

I used to be great supporter of Orrville athletics, and I've recognized the favoritism and bias since I've lived here and attended various sporting events.
Some will deny it, but I'm not the only one that sees it, read some of the other comments.

Tiffany's doing good and enjoying Germany. Supposed to be home for Christmas.
Ihear you brother i have seen the favoritism also , been following orrville for 40 years . It is what it is.

Yep, the favoritism is if you are the player that gives the team the best chance to succeed, then you play. I agree. Glad we are all on the same page.

Full go practice next week for Davis last I heard. Prepping for a return to the field for game action depending on how things go week 7.
