So the coaches do not have to make a decision based on that at all. The decision that has to be made is what is Matt capable of doing with the brace on. Hey, if he us our best H back then he will play H. If he is our best Will linebacker he plays Will. If he is the best at both if those then let him play both. Him not getting hurt has to be thrown out if the equation Especially in his own mind. Yesterday was a good test for him with a wet field and poor traction. He looked good out there. I saw him limp a little after one play but that could have been anything. He was adjusting his brace occasionally looking fir the best fit.
wasn't trying to sound like a doctor or coach, didn't know all the facts on injury. I would hate to see him hurt the knee again thats all.

Why doesn't Orrville play Dover anymore, those were always great games.

I agree that was a great series, always enjoyed going to dover great football atmosphere. Would love to see us drop triway and add dover. Nine out of ten times triway never helps much in computer points anyway.

PERIOD. No Rich Daddy/poor Daddy/ no Daddy/ crap in our program...contrary to what one guy thinks. Go Riders....let's get win # 592 Friday.
I agree with you 100% 5 knots. Thats why the Rider football program is so successful....play the best 11 players...period!

I think that they are much bigger than us and we have to play well every year to compete with them. Beating them is great comp points and thats all that matters. Just dont bash a WIN. A compliment to the kids would be nice every once in a while.

As far as being worshipped or glorified when you put a uniform on...you never put one on personally so you don't know what your talking about. There IS something special about putting that RED/WHITE/BLACK uniform on on Firday nights. Ask anyone who played what it meant to them, but nobody has ever said those words worshipped/glorified...only you.

    How's Tiffany doing?
Why was it a personal insult to say that the victory was over an opponent that wasn't that good. Can you honestly say that was a hard fought game? Lex was bigger! And Lex was much slower.

No I didn't put on the red, black and white on Friday nights! And I taught my sons that the uniform does make you who you are...that belongs to Jesus!

You didn't have to say worshipped/glorified, I said it because that's how many of you sound. My son enjoyed much success as a track athlete, the red, black and white nor the name blessed him with speed, God did that!

The school, the team, the colors were blessed to have people like him, Monheim, Hobbler, Robinson's, Zwuick, Ray and especially Denson to step into that uniform.

And to that end...you and more of you that put on that uniform on Friday night should be "INSULTED" that one of your best isn't in your own Hall of Fame!

I used to be great supporter of Orrville athletics, and I've recognized the favoritism and bias since I've lived here and attended various sporting events.
Some will deny it, but I'm not the only one that sees it, read some of the other comments.

Tiffany's doing good and enjoying Germany. Supposed to be home for Christmas.

I can't speak for other sports. But there is no favoritism or bias in the football program. God has given many certain abilities whose potential is never realized. To that I credit the emphasis our coaches and the kid's own peers to expect more of yourself is where the difference lay here. jmo.

I wish we would reschedule Dover in week 2 as well. Loved playing at their field and it was always a great game against two good football teams.

To "expect more of yourself" can become pointless to some players if they 're not given a fair opportunity. And it happens in football also.

    Dear Baby Jesus,

In your gold loin cloth....please stop this mans insanity. Give him the peace of mind to stop the envy....release the hate...end the jealous rants.

    Amen

Seems that I heard they wanted to beef up their nonleague schedule and when we dropped to D4 from D3 the thought they would gain more from playing someone else in week 2 and have had D2 Avon Lake and D2 Ashland instead.

It's funny though, because the Dover faithful actually are saying the same things we are....we want Orrville back on the schedule...etc.

He is going to play linebacker in college not running back. There is no need to jepordize his future by having him running the ball.
Are you saying he could not have got hurt on defense? That was just how it was meant to be. Our biggest question marks are not on defense they are on offense. When Mason is the only back in the backfield we are very predictable. If Mason could be a lead blocker for Matt Davis that could produce even more yards on the ground. I wouldnt break up the mojo on defense. As far as college, you are right he will play defense but with all due respect that can wait till next year. He gives us the best chance to win on the offensive side of the ball.

You call yourself an Orrville guy and you cant even spell the last names right? Hobbler? Zwuick? Dont insult our town, our program, and most importantly our tradition!!!

After Mason showed what he is capable of at tailback you would really move him back to fullback to block for Matt? That one sounds a little iffy. I like the way Mason can do damage with a head of steam. I would keep the preseason plan of Mason at tail, and Matt at fullback. We get Zook back maybe week 8 or so. That gives us another option on the back field as well.

    +1

And opportunities are earned, not given.
