Week 13: Genoa (12-0) vs. Orrville (9-3)

OQBwe still have that screen in the play book, as well as a few more you haven't seen go ahead and blitz.
I'm just warning you Turner and Brenner need about 2 steps to get behind the DB, our QB catches and throws the fade/seam route....not much time to get pressure on him. -
bwcomet89Something tells me Coach Vicars isn't looking for advice on OhioChatter so don't use what Genoa posters use as what's going to happen. No need to warn US. Genoa has shown they can defend the pass, it's just a matter of if they can get the opposing QB looking at where the D-line is first.

OQBhaha, I know man we are all armchair QB's....but I do offer good football advice for a small fee!
My keys to victory this past week were exactly what we saw on the field, made me wonder if the coaches actually did read my post! haha -

More on Genoa later....
Nice website! I like the idea of being able to gather all that information in one place, but not be restricted by being an "official" school website. Something that we should consider for Genoa - I think we've got one or two guys out here in the cornfields that can work on of these computer things -
oberhausJust got my text from Genoa...Game is at Avon Lake
-
oberhausYou'll see a lot more games at Avon Lake now that they have turf...Dr Dan Ross was the Super there before he took the OHSAA commish job.....
-
BRFWow! I'll be able to tail gate with my mother!
-
riders1If it is Avon Lake here are some shots of the stadium construction and the new turf field, built this year.

Looks like visitor seating is roughly the size of Copley, longer ( between the 25 yd lines ) but not as high as Copley. -
RedRider1It's Avon Lake.....Nice facility.....should be plenty of room for everyone...and their noisy air horns.

Winner plays Region 13 winner....no matter how it turns out. -

Those seats with backs are nice. Bet those get snapped up in a hurry. -
riders1Yes, but that's the home side , we get to sit in the smaller visitor side
Unless you need someone to hold your clipboard on the sidelines -
OQBHappy it's at Avon Lake....Much better than Tiffin!
Shows how much the Genoa AD knows haha!
Is that about an hour and 45 minute drive? -
riders190 minutes, depending on traffic.

SLLfanI know 0 about Orrville's team. After watching Genoa the last two weeks, I was very impressed with them. They play like a TEAM. This group does not appear cocky. My one worry for Genoa would be if the kicker can not kick due to his injury. Good luck to the Comets. Can an Orrville fan give us chatter watchers a preview of your team? It might be really cold along the lake friday!
-
5knotsI can make it to Sandusky in 1'30". Avon is 1 hour 10' max. BER should know. Great location...perfect.
-
kritzellAnother site claims the game will be at Clyde??

Check out some of the ramblings by our local blogger Red Rider 1 at his sight http://www.redridersportsblog.com/2010/11/after-week-12-panthers-cagedcomets-on.html -
usernameGenoa kicker kicked Friday night after getting taped. made the 37 yard FG right before half. He didn't kick off, but the backup did just fine with that.

GenoaCometGoogle says 1hr 41min from Genoa to Avon Lake HS taking the turnpike to I90 to Center Street. Can't imagine traffic will be too awful bad heading that direction so I imagine it would be quicker than that. Looks like a beautiful stadium from the pictures and from Google satellite view it looks like there should be plenty of parking.
-
RedRider1Someone from Genoa......talk to me about those noisemakers....never heard a sound like that before. Are they homemade? Does someone make them and sell them? What's their power source? It ain't any store bought airhorn that's for sure. Are they simple RV horns? I'm dying to know.

Traffic on Center St will be bad around 4:30-6. Thats the main exit for folks who live in Avon and Avon Lake. Give yourself at least 15 extra minutes. Or you could get off on Colorado (611) take a left. Go to Miller Rd take a right then take a right on Walker and a left on 83. That gets you by the main traffic by all the shopping on Center.GenoaComet;558262 wrote:Google says 1hr 41min from Genoa to Avon Lake HS taking the turnpike to I90 to Center Street. AllOhioBest way from Orrville? Does 57 to 83 sound like the best?

se-alumAs some of you have probably noticed, I've edited a few posts. Using dollars signs instead of S's and asteriks in exchange for a letter, doesn't mean you aren't cursing. I prefer not to give warnings and infractions, so please don't try to circumvent the system. Thanks.

Some you blow into and some I believe are old car horns -

Thought you weren't allowed to have anything powered? Or is that just Orrville's rule? If my memory serves, Genoa is the only team we've played that uses air horns.
