Week 13: Genoa (12-0) vs. Orrville (9-3)

Genoa had a very good season with a few very good players as did Orrville but I think the game would have ended very differnt if the Refs. called it fare! Yes genoa did mess up a few times and it was there own mistake but there was so many blocks in the back, holdings,and horse collars that werent even called on the riders! I seen a rider player literaly sitting on one of genoas players backs 4 a whole play! When u are hitting some1 u hit and move on u dont hold them by there jersey untill the play is over or just lay on them untill the play is over.The riders were blocking in the back the WHOLE night nothing was called on them and luckly no one was hurt. I honestly believe that genoa would have came out on top if they had a fare game called yes they messed up own ther own a few times like i said but they would have been fine just like in everyother game! There is no perfect team out there they all make mistakes they all get flags thrown on them but when the flags are being thrown on one side and not the other it makes a huge difference. Honestly genoa had 12 flags on them and orrville had 3 at the most?!?! Its kind of funny if u ask me in the NFL there is no team that gets only 3 thrown on them the whole game and i think orrville had 1 thrown in the whole 1st half? come on thats bs!The fact is orrville won with help and that was from the refs. then there fans on top of it were rude i was down by the steps on the genos side and a group teenagers were getting ready 2 head up in the genoa stands! three started 2 go but since the other ones got scared and wouldnt go the 3 on the steps decided 2 come down and they ran off laughing,then orrville fans were chanting u cant stop us whish was wrong and the fact was genoa couldnt stop the refs. it wasnt about stopping the riders it was the refs. then after the game is over r players r walking 2 the locker room very upset and orrville fans r walking behinde them laughing loud full of there selfs! none of it was needed it was a hard lose for them not bcuz they always when and blah blah like u guys say its bcuz of why they lost those boys could have done anything on that feild but in the end it didnt matter bcuz of the refs.! Orrville came out on top they did have some good plays and did stop genoa on some plays and they had the refs. on ther side which made it even better for them. We will see what happens next week Orrville didnt win bcuz they were better they won bcuz they had help thats all look at both sides seasons genoa was better they better players but nothing holds up when the refs. come in2 it Good luck next week even tho i dont belive it was a fare win i wish u luck next week! and make it a note that i wasnt a comet fan i was there supporting them i figured since they beat us and the regular season fare and square that i would support them on there road in the playoffs!
From what I understand Orrville AD had to go to the ATM 5 different times just for orrville to get enough money to pay off the refs. friday night!! Hope we have enough money left for next week!!!!!! -

bwcomet89Wow I go to work and miss a lot! That's what I get for having to work a Saturday. Oh and to the Orrville fans, you have one huge fan in my supervisor. I came in today and he asked who won. I said Orrville and he started fist pumping. So I punched him in the face. Ok maybe that was in my head I did that lol. But let's see if I can drop my 2 cents on all that was said.
Ok first, Genoa fans need to calm down. Yeah the Orrville student section was chanting "12-1" and "You can't stop us". You can take offense, OR, you can realize that it's the STUDENT SECTION! It's kind of their job to make up stuff and get into your heads. Looks like they did their job, now get over it.
As far as the reffing, or poor reffing or whatever you want to call it. Yeah that late hit penalty was a little questionable, especially after a late hit later on for Orrville wasn't called, but in the end NO, it wasn't the referees fault for why Genoa lost. How about because they fumbled twice deep in Orrvilles end and had 3 turnovers to Orrville's 1. Genoa had their chances and didn't execute, Orrvilel had theirs and did what they had to do. I do think it's kind of funny that all the referees are either living around Orrville or is in the school system. However, I don't think it's fair to blame the officiating.
I think it's sad to say it, but any Genoa fan that enters a game under the influence should be arrested. It makes me embarrassed to see grown adults week after week acting more immature than their children. If you need to drink to enjoy a playoff game, you have some serious problems. Next time feel free to stay home next year if you want to drink. I've said it before I'll say it again, WE DON'T NEED YOU. -

but its all good i was trying to keep it civil like i said it was no fluke this year or last i look forward to next year hope u stay in region 14 but then again if not maybe next time it will be for a state title!! -

bwcomet89QB, it's just something that annoys me. I know every school has their good fans and bad fans, it just aggrivates me that they make bad decisions week after week, year after year.
Oh and before I forget, those people on here or those that were at the game that were questioning Vicars and his staff. Mike Vicars is one of the top coaches in the state and turned Genoa from a perrenial poor team that the community turned their backs on, into a successful program that wins year in and year out. Over his first 4 seasons he's gone 39-1 regular season, and 7-4 playoffs. You would be hardpressed to find a coach that has done more for a program. Be proud of what you have. -

is it just me or do u think it was pretty crappy how majority of the fans left with 5 mins left or what? and couldnt stand up and cheer for anything u would think the alchol would give the some energy but hell no couldnt get them up for nothing -

Ok story time: I went to Denny's after the game, in Avon Lake, and I see nothing but Orville fans. Belly of the beast I think. Well I walked across the room and one Orrville fan stops me and tells me to come over. I'm thinking they will talk to me about the game, maybe some smack talk, who knows. He asks if I play basketball and asks how tall I am! Do they not have tall people in your town? LOL. -

couldnt agree with u more it has nothing to do with his play calling it all comes down to who makes the plays and we didnt they can know what play we run every time if we preform right they cant stop it but those fans r the same one who complain when we win so u cant win for loose with them -

Most of the people I saw leave early were either not from Genoa or Geriatric. Those that have no connections to Genoa can leave whenever they want and for the latter maybe it's best they leave early and stay out of the weather haha. I stayed after the game and there were still several hundred Genoa fans congratulating their young heroes on a great season. I think that is pretty cool in itself. -
