Week 13: Genoa (12-0) vs. Orrville (9-3)
-
bwcomet89Genoa has a much better TEAM this year than last. That's all I can really say. They don't have the names like they did last year, but they play together and for each other much better than last year. For a team that many predicted to be out in the first round in a blowout to Ottawa Glandorf, they have certainly showed a lot of heart to get here to the regional finals. It should be a great game. Oh, in response to your post QB, Vicars has been at Genoa for 4 years now and is currently 7-3 with 2 regional championship appearances. Looks like both teams have stellar coaching.
Also, I agree about Tiffin. It was nice to see it and watch a good game there, but I wouldn't mind playing somewhere else. I'm glad to be here, but if I had to choose it'd be elsewhere. -
5knotsI am thinking Fostoria or Huron. QB...I'm done. look for me on tv tomorrow night in Lincoln. I will wear red! haha
-
OQBCertainly both coaching staffs know what they are doing...the proof is out there!
I knew Genoa would be back in the hunt this year, and thought that last week was a tossup...
I think it will be nice for us to finally face a running team again....these passing teams can really drain you and for back to back weeks our db's have played outstanding! -
OQB
Will do! Have a safe trip to and from Nebraska! Have fun, the Rider possy will hold it down on here til you get back haha5knots;555930 wrote:I am thinking Fostoria or Huron. QB...I'm done. look for me on tv tomorrow night in Lincoln. I will wear red! haha -

Translated....Hillabrand graduated. LOL.
It's nice the Genoa AD said Tiffin, but let's wait until the OHSAA declares it so before making travel plans. I'd rather go to Huron...but whatever....we're playing.
Orrville hasn't won a region title since 1999. Right now...we got as good a chance as any. -
OQBMaybe since we are the home team it will make a difference haha, the last two regional final apperances we have been away....
-
5knotsWe are still away QB, bottom bracket. pretty sure.
-
OQBWe are the higher seed though....I thought higher seed was the home team?
haha o well, we have a great opportunity this week and I am thankful for that! -
bwcomet89That is correct. Genoa is home as they are at the top of the bracket. Sorry QB... lol
-
OQBGAY!
haha atleast we are playing, that's all the really matters! -
5knotsGenoa brings more fans anyway. They need space for those horns too.
-
OQBWhere will the tailgating trailer park be set up??
-
5knotsThey will have to drink on the way since it's a Friday game....unless they call in sick....I might try that come to think of it!
-
pburg77I know Orrville is geat but what is the number one thing Genoa has to do to win this game? That is what I was getting at before.
-
OQBHaha, I thought you already had Fridays off 5k....

Be able to match up man to man with our athletes....We have more weapons than last year, and you try to take one away and another just steps up!
Our sophomore QB, has been getting better and better each week. -
pburg77Wow thanks, I never would have figured that out. So they have to play D. K What else?
-
5knotsIt is like any play off game burg....least amount of mistakes will win. Not enough difference in the levels of team at this point to overcome mistakes. my opinion anyway. The key to Orrville is the offense. We need drives. If we let Genoa get a ton of plays under their belt because our offense sputters the D will get worn down by the great ground game. I think the key for Genoa is identical. Their offense sputtered last year and Orrville put together long drives early. That was the difference and will be Friday imo.

We go as our offense goes! -
pburg77Well said. That was a little more of what I was looking for. What you said about a ton of plays on D is what killed CF tonight. What is better Orrville's run or pass?
-
OQBThat's hard to say, but I am going to go with run game...we have 3 backs that get the job done!
-
OQBHere is a video link to Fox 8 news Cleveland...

THE4RINGZI am glad a wagered all my vCash on the over in the over/under on how many references to last year's game would be made on this thread.

GenoaCometHoping for more sanity and civility this time around. Last year's thread was the main reason I didn't bother giving jjhuddle any of my money...
