Last year Dover was a benefactor of a two weak draws,Big Red deserved to be in the regional final, Dover just fell into it. That was not a very good Dover team last year. Question though, if not for a 104 yard pick 6 and a QB fumble Dover beats you in '03, would that have impressed you? Or was the 3 point win over just another sucky Dover team? And how does your God of a coach not see the surprise onside coming after half time?
'06? Haha, the "what Ifft's". Yes that would have been impressive. If if's and but's were candy and nuts, everyday would be X-mas. The 104 yard pick 6 was quite impressive in and of itself. That's the difference though. Our dream team made the plays that your dream team did not. That's why you can't beat the Red. More playmakers, more heart than the rich boys from Dover.

Wonder who from Dover is gonna get knocked the f#@% out this year. Seems to happen everytime they play the Red.

Also, I seem to remember some personalities on recent teams ( one particular QB) that were too BIG for Reno & co. to handle. Thank god those players have moved on. So, I don't think they necessarily would've turned Randy Moss into a different person.

Steubenville (OH) 28, Dover (OH) 17

I'm going with Dover 35 Steubenville 28. Any other takers?

Oh, and by the way...."rich Dover kids" ??? Tuscarawas County is not immune to the unemployment and foreclosure crisis. The demise of the steel industry/manufacturing hurts all of Ohio.

If you Big Red fans were good hosts you would tell the Dover fans to check out your alumni center on rt.7

Will the game be considered an upset if dover wins or are both teams pretty even when it comes to talent?
I will go with Big Red 21-10 winners.

If Dover wins it would be an upset.
Steubenville leads the overall series 13-3 with 1 tie.
Steubenville has placed 2nd and Dover has placed 7th in Division III, Region 11.

For sure. Big Red's not all that great, but homefield advantage, history, and seeding would make this an upset if Dover were to win. I wouldn't be shocked, but it'd be an upset.

this is a great way to kick off the postseason, I think. We usually have to sit through a...I don't wanna say cakewalk or snoozer game, but the first round isn't usually a well known team and usually isn't very competitive. This game on the other hand will be both of those things.

Home field is a huge difference in some places.... atmosphere... FEAR THE HORSE.. its awsome.

It is right next to Naples ,Anybody coming early to eat at Naples can see our new indoor practice facility next to the school. Should be a great game between two great programs . I have alot of respect for Dover . They are a fine top quality opponent. Should be great atmosphere in Harding .

I have a difference of opinion with you . I think young football minds are molded at the HS level . Alot of pro's seem to agree with this . I wasnt bragging us up I was just taking that topic and opening it up alittle . Joe Patterno the best and Woody Hays also ,those guys shaped attitudes . Strong HS leadership Is a huge influence . Not saying it was his high school football coaches fault for this guy being such a jerk ,but the work ethic part . this guy played for Marshall too ,not Joe Patterno ,If he had played for Joe Patterno I think his less than 100% on field stuff would not exist either.

By the way Bases loaded ,What is your problem? I am trying to be positive here . We are not a podunk high school either . I dont like that comment . we get plenty of ESPN shots and compliments everytime ZC is on TV for Cinci all the time I here stuff like "thats a Steubenville boy" Thats how they teach it in Steubenville" . I here Lou Holtz complimenting our program on national TV . I here Kirk Herbstriet give us compliments several times . I have herd coah Tressle compliment Reno and our program . I can go on and on . ... Now I am bragging about our program . BUT I AM NOT SLIGHTING YOURS IN ANY WAY AND DONT INTEND TO SO CHILL.

Big Red will win this, but not before being gratuitous, facetious, and actively engaging in some message board sandbagging.

Good luck to Steuby with this and...

Probably more than you and had success in other sports too. But that was years ago. Have since graduated from a top notch university own a house and a job that pays for Big Reds unemployed. Have fun on message boards in my spare time. Some people get it. A few coughcough you and thick don't.
  • Go_Fast_Sports
I have an extra ticket if anyone is looking for one.
  • finster4307
This should be a decent game. I think playing at home will give the Red a little extra incentive to bag the win.
This team has potential...the coaches usually do a great job w/r/t scouting....looking forward to putting it all together in the post season.

On the way home from work I was listening to some youngstown station and they picked Big Red to win DIII this year.
