WEEK 11: DOVER(8-2) @ STEUBENVILLE(8-3)

ThinthickbigredIn order for Big Red to win a title this year we have to beat Dover.......Sheridan......Marlington.....Mooney...Watterson..... Tough every week Lets get ready to rumble. I want this one Big Red !
-
WooballDover has played 2 teams this year that are DIII playoff quality teams. Coshocton is a solid team, but not the caliber of the top 8 teams in region 11. In those 2 games they gave up 41 points in a loss at Ashland and 26 points in a loss to Tri-Valley. I would say that Big Red's offense is somewhere in between those 2 teams, as Ashland had a very good QB and some explosive skill guys. The question is will Dover's O be able to put up 28-35 points against the best defense by far that they have faced all season? Will be very tough and will need to play a clean game with few penalties and not turn the ball over. This year's Dover offense might not be much better than last year's, but they do throw the ball a little better than last year which will help them against Big Red's stout run defense.

And here is this guy who hasn't posted after that Oak Glenn lose until now after his Skins won the "Route 43 trophy" and then celebrated as if it were a State Title. It was a classic moment that I got to witness. Team was running around the field, getting photo with the trophy, and fans were crying. Anyway thanks for the support SAM! -

When that happens, welcome to reality and welcome to the "humbleness" that Big Red so desperately preaches. Wake up and sniff the beans brother... You keep taking our athletes but sooner or later they are going to stay right where they are and throw it back at you. You can only hate so long and Mingo and Wintersville are coming around. What are you doing beside dwelling on your 2005/2006 dream seasons? Playoffs yes, state champs, hahaha.
Best of luck to you also, your still a valley team...
"keep taking our athletes" .... Don't flatter yourself third string already has enough players! Could you name me one that starts, plays, or dresses ? -
ThinthickbigredHe is just trying to help shore up IC and guilt any potential player that decides to come to a winner. Very tactical but useless IMO

That's pretty hilarious.....and pathetic if true. No wonder their program is at the level it is. -

Nice to finally get an intelligent post out of you. Now if we could just draw one out of 'ThinThick' - but I won't hold my breath! j/kSUPER787;540679 wrote: Any team that throws the ball as much as Dover is capable of a win. Don't underestimate this team. -

Haha, yeah, yawn. That's what I was doing while watching Dover's "best offense in years rack up about 20 yards in the first half of last years game. We are delusional? All the talk from Dover last year was how explosive your offense, so you must know all about delusional. They ran the same play about 46 times and it got em about 4 net yards. Dover was dominated last year, they moved the ball when Big Red played a little prevent late in the game.bases_loaded;540691 wrote:...yawn...this is Dover's worst playoff team ever.
Big Red fans are delusional, you act as if you blew Dover out of the water in matchups...FIRST OF THE MONTH BIG RED FANS
You can't hang, boy. -
bases_loadedI think you are confused. No way did anyone say last years team was our most explosive. The most explosive offense we had was either the year Dover lost to Licking Valley in a rainstorm or '06 against you guys 33-30 game.
So are you trying to live vicariously through high school football players or Big Red huddlers from years past?
I'm not trying to hang with anything, I do not play. -

Oh that's right I forgot, when two people are talking sports and one's team gets owned everytime, the only comeback is to say the other man is trying to live vicariously through, lol. You did a lot of talking before last year's game to act so flippant. I guess when the team you support ( I realize you don't play, big boy, but you are interested enough in teen boys throwing a ball around to come here and type about it so...) perpetually fails against a team whose fanbase you despise, there isn't much you can do but downplay how much it chaps your ass.bases_loaded;541003 wrote:I think you are confused. I would go dig up some of those posts about last years team on JJ but ya know. So, I guess you're safe. -

You couldn't dig up posts of me saying anything about last years team being explosive, for more reasons than your account was disabled. Mostly because I never said it. This thread will be full of Big Red fans fighting with themselves and Indian Creek pissing matches. The only thing Dover has going for them is that Big Red has yet to beat an Ohio team. -

Believe it or not Steubenville is playing an OHIO team this week! -

Bigred1995Honest question for Dover fans! Has your LOS (both offense & defense) improved over last year? The reason I ask is if you remember last year, the LOS play was the main reason Big Red dominated. If I was to compare this year's Big Red Lines, I'd say this year's is quite a bit better than last year's, especially on defense.
So, has Dover's line's improved over last year? -

I can't make this up! Sam will tell you he was there with wags taking photos. -
Wooballbases_loaded;541163 wrote:NO
Correct, and it is the reason Dover has not been able to beat physical teams in the playoffs, especially our defensive front. In the 3 years we have made it to the regional final since 2006, the offense has scored enough points to be in the game 2 of those years, but the defense hasn't been able to get enough stops against power football. It puts a lot of pressure on the Offense to be perfect. We will see if that can happen Saturday night.
Bases, are you going to make the trip? -

If that is truly the case, then I see Saturday's game going much like last year's!bases_loaded;541163 wrote:NO -

Yeah I got permission...wanna head down with Gonzo? -

Most likely. Dover's QB play is better this year and they did shut down three running teams in the last 3 weeks, but that being said they have yet to see a team that executes like Big Red does. Last years game I have never seen a high school team execute as well as they did. -

You must have me confused with someone else. I have never said anything derogatory about Dover. -

I will head down, not sure if Gonzo is allowed though.
