Can Youngstown Ursuline be beat?
-
Spread All DayI don't think so. They're scary good this season.
Going for the three peat!
Give me your opinions! -
OQBprobably not, but anything is possible with 16,17, and 18 year old kids.
-
Spread All DayAgreed. But after watching that Mooney game, Ursuline looked scary good.
Teague and Kemp are a force. Its a shame they're D5 though. They could do it in D2 IMO -
OQBthey could probably do it in DI too.....

Perhaps. That may be pushing it.OrrvilleQB;534553 wrote:they could probably do it in DI too..... -
Spread All DayCause St. Ed's is TOUGH

OhioGlenville and ed's would give ursuline fits but it would be a very close game either way.
-
OQBUrsuline would win 5-6 times out of 10 probably...
-
clickclickboomIts too bad they regulate the number of guys that go to that school otherwise we could see how good they are.
-
Con_AlmaHow do they regulate it?
Do you mean the OHSAA regulates what division they play in based on their numbers? -
futbol4everNot an Ursuline fan, but that is totally untrue.

Catholic schools' enrollment is very down across the board, mostly due to the economy. All would do backflips to get their enrollment up. Good luck to the Irish, stay focused though because anything can happen. -
ThinthickbigredDo you think St Edwards could take D-5 ? Its the same question . Good luck KIrtland

But that will NEVER happen. Just think about it...a private school could just recruit a lot of very good football players from a larger geographic area while keeping their total enrollment low enough to compete in a smaller division. Why, a school could actually have D1 talent and depth but still compete and a D3 or D4 level. Can you envision how inequitable that would be for the other small public schools trying to compete in that division?? It would be unconscionable to allow that - OHSAA would never permit it - no matter how much money you throw at them!! -
LeonardoUrsuline should roll to the Division V state championship. There are some pretty good teams in Division V, but Ursuline is a couple steps above everyone (Kirtland, Western Reserve, Patrick Henry, Archbold, Fredricktown, North Union, Anna).

LRB54I think their are primed to name their score all the way through.

It's not a radical concept. The OHSAA does it now. The OHSAA regulates what division they play in based on their numbers. It's pretty simple.Crimson and Gray Hair;534792 wrote:WHOA...what a radical concept!!

TheQIf Ursuline makes it to the championship game, it will be their fourth appearance in four years with their only championship loss thus far to Marion Local in 2007. An amazing run by Ursuline. Their talent level the last two years is incredible, but as Marion Local showed in '07, you just never know in high school football. I was looking over the leaders in different regions in D5, and it doesn't look promising for them. Maybe a team out of a conference that plays at a high level year in and year out (like the MAC) might have a chance. Ursuline should be able to give their starters a good rest in the early rounds, and that just spells trouble for the rest of the teams. I know that a lot people find the public vs. private situation unfair, but personally, I'm going to forget about all of that and just kick back and enjoy watching the show.

Tiger2003I would take Hilliard Davidson over Ursuline.

tsst_fballfanUrsuline wins out, too good of a recruiting class not to.

I agree that they could win D2-5 but don't think they would stand a chance against St. Eds, Glenville or Colerain this year. -
OhioThey would stay in the game. It's whoever comes out to play on that night. Ursuline beat and arch rival mooney team by more points then Eds did.

They'd give LaSalle and probably X a run for their money. Everyone else on this list would handle them.thePITman;534896 wrote:Teams ranked above Ursuline state-wide, according to Fantastic50.net and Drew Pasteur:

They might give some of the top teams a challenge in a one-off game...maybe even beat a couple of them. What they wouldn't do in this lifetime is run a 5-game gauntlet to win D1. I have my doubts if they could even do it in D2.
