Oh boy...a whole laundry list of dirt bags to choose from...muhahaha.Pick6 wrote: footwedge=biggest dbag cleveland fan? Nevermind..thats not even a question.
Footwedge: you are an idiot if you think Jamison is not a good player. Do you remember what Rashard Lewis did to us last year?!?!??!!??!!? He did that because we didnt have 4 athletic enough to guard him. That is why we got Jamison. Varejao and JJ are good in the post, not guarding 3 point shooters that can drive around them easily. Im not going to waste my time looking up stats because I know I am right. Lewis had to average 20+ against us last year in the ECF because we could not stop him! There is no question we have the most stacked roster from top to bottom in the NBA.
I'll choose you for now. Jamison adds no additional value to this team. None. Nada. Nihil. Is my spelling OK?
The Cavaliers allowed a lot fewer points per game last year versus this year. But somehow the great PoonTawn Jamison is going to put a stop to it? You are another fuggin idiot. No other explanation.
Jamario Moon, Anthony Parker, Shaq, and now Jamison, and the opium permeates the Cavalier fans' brain...in somehow thinking this team is better defensively. Well it isn't. Figures don't lie...but liars suck in the media driven opium fumes. How's my spelling? Still OK?
Orlando won the series because they played above their station. Lewis, Turkolou, and Howard all had exceptional series against the Cavs. Mo and DeLonte played poorly. It had nothing to do with match ups---NOTHING.
Like the poster up above clearly stated...if DeLonte hits a wide open 15 footer in game one at the buzzer and Anderson tips in LBJ's second free throw in game 4, the Cavs win the series 4 to 1. And that was what was expected...given the fact last year's team was a whopping 6 to 1 favorite to beat the overmatched Magic.
The only real "match up" problems in that series...the Magic having to deal with the best player in the game, defend far and away the best 3ball percentage team, the best defensive team in the NBA, and the team with the far and away best overall record in the Eastern Conference.
No...it was the Magic that had the major match up problems...but because of a couple of incredible lucky breaks, they upset the much higher talented team.
OK. You're done. Next. -

Listen up shmuck. Jamison is not a good pick up...period. He's a one trick pony...can maneuvre down low pretty well. And that's it. His outside shot is way below average. (Proven statistically by me on a different thread). Watching him hoist from outside is like listening to fingernails on a chalk board. He is taking valuable minutes away from better players. And he needs to understand...don't release down the court when your man shoots it. Too many times the shooter got his own rebound due to PoonTawn releasing down the court.....block him out. For a Dean Smith protegee, he absolutlety sucks regarding basic tenets of basketball 101.Benny The Jet wrote: Soooo Foot statistically what will it take for you to acknowledge Jamison as a good pick up? Averaging more rebounds per minute than Joe Smith? Lebron-esque numbers? What if they win the title with him in the starting lineup? Or will you complain that they didn't go undefeated in the playoffs? Or will it be that they won by a higher margin per game last year? Basically, my question is...what would it take to put your foot in your mouth about this whole thing?
And the next time I hear that Jamison is a legit "stretch 4", I'm gonna puke. These other teams don't even guard him outside of 15 feet. Why do you think that is? It's because he's a brick machine from out there. They guard him the same way they guard JJ Hickson. Pay attention to the game next time. Jamison is always wiiiiiide open from outside. Because he blows from out there. -
devil1197Haha, Shaq not better defensively against Howard?
Sasha better defensively than Moon? Wally better than Parker?
I'll call a bust at Jamison and Smith.

If Mike Brantley goes 4 for 9 this year, and then breaks his leg, would Brantley be the batting champ at .444? Hmmmm? You used to be a good poster...and I liked your stuff. But in reality, you're nothing but a twisted twerp, one who can't handle being wrong on an internet blog site......with absolutely no reasoning skills whatsoever in analizing evidence that doesn't fit your preconceived agenda.
If you don't want to debate my points in a civil manner, then get the fuck off my thread. I don't need to hear your bullshit anymore, capiche? -
hangonsloopyYeah LTrain, get off HIS thread!

And somehow Shaq is gonna correct this? What a joke. Shaq is a hack machine...that averages a foul every 5 minutes of play. Secondly, Howard played way above his head in that series. Look it up.ytownfootball wrote: Yeah addressing a match-up issue that doesn't include Z/Howard = worthless.
Like I said, Orlando had the inferior team, and had the match up problems.
Cavs were much better defensively...#1 in the league in points allowed.
Cavs were the much better shooting team from the field.
Cavs were the #1 shooting team from behind the arc.
Cavs had the best player in basketball...and it wasn't even close.
You wanna talk match up problems? then give Van Gundy a call. He's the one that had them. Not Cleveland. -
wes_mantoothMan, when can we let this whole Jamison thing go? He is a part of our team now.....cheer for the guy. I could give a shit less about how people perceive him as long as we are winning. If we win a championship with him....it was a great pickup. If we go belly up against Orlando again, then it was not a good enough pick up.

hoops23lol.

FootwedgeAnd some more stats to ponder. Last year, the Cavs led the league defensively in allowing a league low .431 shooting percentage from the field. They also led the league in allowing only 33% from beyond the arc.
This year, both of those numbers have faded. .438 and .341 respectively. Although still excellent, no question another popped baloon for those that think the Cavs have improved defensively...or that they've "solved" the match up problems.
Last year's team was better. Not by all that much...but still better...both offensively and defensively. -
hoops23Yep, I already gave up on the season.. Last years team was better and we failed to reach the Finals..
We'll probably lose in the 2nd round this season. -

SQ_CraziesWHO THE FUCK CARES ABOUT LAST YEAR?
Way to make us all look retarded, I'm speaking too all of you who participates with FW in these pointless fucking debates. Haven't we been saying all season to Laker fans that we aren't concerned with what happened last year? Sure seems like it...
But you guys all become morons when you go on and on trying to argue with the GOAT moron about something that isn't even debatable. Let's put our effort into some NBA discussion that is interesting or something...not this stupid shit in every thread.
And Footwedge, get the fuck over yourself. I've heard you say a million times that you don't care what anyone here thinks about what you have to say--so if that's true then shut the fuck up. Because from where I'm sitting, you care more about what anyone says about you or what you say than anyone else on this site. -

I'm done arguing the Jamison, or Better than last year points with Wedge. -
jpake1I saw on another thread that my boy SQ said Andy would be a HOF if the guys stayed around and got 5-6 rings. I had to do a search on that and it brought me here. To each their own, but that may be the most idiotic prediction I've seen on this site.. well.. ever. I guess we'll find out IF the Cavs can win a handful in a row. If it happens, I'll be waiting for a "I told you so" text during one of the HOF ceremonies.
-
SQ_CraziesWhy does everyone thing I'm crazy?
It's not as much a prediction as it is a result of what will happen if we win that many titles. Look how many players from the Celtics big runs made it, how many of those names do you know without looking them up? Same with the Lakers. Wait a few more years and you'll see a lot more former Bulls make the HOF.
Players that are important parts of dynasties make the HOF. -
hoops23You're comparing apples to oranges when you cite the Celtics run.
The Cavs won't sniff anywhere near that success, let alone a handful in a row.
Let's win one first , because it's not going to be easy. The NBA is stacked at the top, more so than usual. -
SQ_CraziesNo shit Sherlock, have you even read the post that started the whole thing?
Actually, I question how many of you have.
jpake--You thought I was an idiot for saying Brandon Roy would be a superstar too. -

SQ_CraziesI'm not one to ignore people, I think everyone deserves to be heard and can contribute something to the argument.
I've held back for a few weeks now while others destroyed you because I think that most of the time, you contribute a lot to an NBA discussion. And I like that, I like guys that can have a higher than normal level conversation. I may not always agree with you but that doesn't bother me--I like guys like you, LTrain, Sage, TrueBlue, devil, even sleeper. There are guys I forgot, not on accident, I'm just not going to make a list any longer than that--sorry lol. But the reason I made that post is because I feel like you've gone overboard with the Jamison shit and the argument about whether or not the Cavs were better last year--and I think that both arguments at this point are pointless. We have Jamison, he is playing a lot of minutes whether you want him to or not. And last years team vs. this years team, that really isn't an argument IMO and by the opinion of nearly everyone--but regardless of how any of us feel about it, it doesn't mean anything. It doesn't matter any more than what kind of cereal Z is eating this morning means. It's just pointless.
So what I'm saying is you're getting away from contributing to good conversation and just pushing stupid bullshit that fills up threads with a bunch of shit that doesn't matter. Let's just move on, I don't care what you think about my internet personality either--it's whatever, it doesn't matter. But let's just continue to enjoy the season and cheer on the Cavs--just support Jamison man, he's part of the team now. He didn't come to blow up the title hopes, he came to help and he's been doing that. In fact, right now I think he's helping the team in a HUGE way. The way he's been able to carry us with his scoring in the 1st half is big for us, because it's allowed LeBron to go off for a few HUGE second halves recently. Anytime we can take a lead into the half without LeBron having to expend too much energy, it's a VERY good thing for our chances of winning the game. And LeBron is showing his clutch dominance in the 4th from every point on the floor because he's fresher. He doesn't have to go out and get 20 in the 1st half. I love it. But really, this is a discussion for a different time--all I'm asking, respectfully and politely, is that you drop this BS. I like what you can contribute to a thread and there is plenty for us to be talking about. I'm sick of threads ever since the trade deadline ending the same way--a pissing match between you and literally everyone about something that doesn't matter.. -
jpake1
I most definitely didn't think you were an idiot for thinking Roy would be damn good in the NBA. I thought he was going to be good. You must have me confused with somebody else, or the player confused. Addai maybe? You were all about Addai when I didn't think much of him. However, I still wouldn't call him a superstar. There are only a few of those in the NBA. The best of the best, and a bit more than all-star status.SQ_Crazies wrote: No shit Sherlock, have you even read the post that started the whole thing?

How do you know? I'll tell you right now...my dog agrees with me. On a serious note, probably half the people agree with me that the Cavs are not better than last year's team. Many have posted as such...they just don't go into detail. As far as Jamison, sure, I'm in the minority. My opinion remains steadfast....his addition has not improved the team one bit. He is taking minutes away from better players, IMO.hangonsloopy wrote:

Tonight he was 0-3 from outside...all wide open shots.
And whereby I am admittedly in the minorority on Jamison, my guess would be that about one out of every 3 Cav fans have been underwhelmed with Jamison. He is not a stretch 4 player at all. If he was, then the other team would guard him from the perimeter. They know that he is a poor shooter from out there...about the same as Rajon Rondo. -
wes_mantoothI think Jamison is a stretch 4, but my question is....can he guard a stretch 4? Mostly, I am worried about Rashard Lewis.
