Sunday: Boston Celtics at Cleveland Cavs

hoops23lol, what^^??
You already responded to that.. Is your mind really slipping, or what? -

Jamison has had at least 10 games that were better than what Powe had today since he's been with the Cavs. Where is his credit?Footwedge wrote: Anyone else notice how good Leon Powe was?
Now Leon is a #4 we can be proud of. -
Lovejoy1984
You know as well I as I do, if Jamison came out and averaged 30pts and 20 boards per game for the rest of the season, but only shot 30% from 3pt range, this guy would find fault with it.SQ_Crazies wrote:

SQ_CraziesPowe only shot 60% from the FT line today, that's acceptable all of a sudden?

Hey Curly....last year's team won 50 games before this year's team did. You not only suck at writing editorials, but your logic here is an epic fail.SQ_Crazies wrote: Cavs were 1st to 50 wins this year. Had 54 before another team got 50.
We couldn't beat the better teams in the league last year, this year we've done great in that aspect.
Roster from top to bottom is better and there is ZERO argument against that.

Listen up, Larry, when PT Jesus routinely puts 30 and 20, then we'll discuss.HighRoller74 wrote:

Why you hatin on my man Leon? A real Cav fan will root for all their players, isn't that right?SQ_Crazies wrote: Powe only shot 60% from the FT line today, that's acceptable all of a sudden?
And for the record...Leon is about 75% for the year from the line. PTJ is clanking em at 47%.
Tee it back up, Curly. I'll give you another mulligan. -
wes_mantoothhaha.....so this game thread has a lot of "game" posts on it.

Those are the stats you're using to back up that logic? What do you expect this team to do in the postseason? This team is much better at the 4 and 5 spots and I HIGHLY doubt this years Cavs will go a whole series with only LeBron showing up like the Orlando series last year.Footwedge wrote:
Since you a just a casual fan, then it's quite understandable to think in the present vs the past. But last year's team was slightly better. Last year's team sgould have won it all, but they didn't. Seriously? I'm a more casual NBA fan, but this years Cavs team seems way better to me.
Last year's team was 45 and 2 at home (exckuding the finale whrn all the players rested.)
Last year's team won each game by almost 2 points per game more than this year's team.
This year's team is really great...but last year's team was slightly better. -

LeBron didn't show up in the Magic Series? I think you're sadly mstaken. LeBron was his usual self--phenominal. Game 2? Rememeber Game 2? It was our back court that didn't show up. If West and Mo play poorly this year, this team will lose...just like last year's team lost.Terry_Tate wrote:

He said with Only Lebron showing up in the magic series, meaning Lebron was the ONLY player to show up. -
wes_mantoothNo, he is saying that Lebron was the only one to show up and he doesn't see that happening this year.

It's all good. I just think when you look at this team last year(and years before) there was nobody but LeBron that worries you, whereas this year you have Shaq who is obviously Shaq(even though I know he's out for awhile and am not even sure when he'll be back), Jamison who is a proven player, and Hickson who has come on strong this year and is MUCH better than last year. Last years team had flaws that were obviously exposed against the Magic, whereas this years team seems to have a lot less flaws. Add in I think last year the Cavs were 0-2 against the Lakers and 2-0 this year, as well as their record against the Magic and Celtics being better(I think, don't quote me) and this team is much much more dangerous than last years team, or any before it, and I've been watching the Cavs since LeBron came into the league.Footwedge wrote:

Today for Leon Powe:Footwedge wrote:

16 points (5-8, 6-10 FT), 7 rebounds, 1 steal
Random sampling of Jamison's 15 games played with the Cavs:
19 points (9-14, 1-1 3's, 0-1 FT), 8 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block
18 points (7-14, 1-4 3's, 3-4 FT), 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals
22 points (8-14, 1-3 3's, 5-9 FT), 11 rebounds, 3 assists
17 points (8-14, 1-5 3's, 0-1 FT), 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 1 block
19 points (9-23, 1-3 3's, 0-2 FT), 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block
17 points (7-13, 2-4 3's, 1-5 FT), 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals, 1 block
30 points (11-18, 4-6 3's, 4-8 FT), 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 steals, 1 block
17 points (6-12, 3-4 3's, 2-4 FT), 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, 1 block
15 points (6-17, 1-7 3's, 2-8 FT), 12 rebounds, 2 blocks
15 points (7-14, 0-1 3's, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds, 3 assists
17 points (7-12, 2-4 3's, 1-2 FT), 9 rebounds, 1 steal
My logic? My logic tells me that the last two years the first team to win 50 games has won the title. I don't care if they reached 50 earlier last year, they weren't the first in the NBA to reach it--the Lakers were. And why ignore my argument about the rosters and our record against the top teams?Footwedge wrote:

What FagWedge said.
And if you really want to get technical--the actually hit 50 this year on March 8th and not until March 10th last year. But when a team is winning 60+ games--you don't look at the roster to see if they improved anyways.
How am I hating? You're right, you should root for our players and you don't. I'm not hating, I think Powe played a great game today. I'm just pointing out your double standard.Footwedge wrote:

Tee it back up, Curly. I'll give you another mulligan.
Oh yeah, check your stats by the way. You think I need a mulligan?
FT% for the season:
Powe is 65% (22-34)
Jamison is 65% (174-267)
Granted, Jamison has sucked in Cleveland. But his career percentage is 73%. His shooting in Cleveland is off, but it will most likely average itself out--he's just slumping. By the way, Powe is a 70% FT shooter for his career.
Nice try junior, me jumping off the fence and joining the gang to expose you was the worst thing you ever could have hoped for. -
SQ_Crazies
You better start doing better--second time you've said that Delonte didn't play well against the Magic.Footwedge wrote:

series with only LeBron showing up like the Orlando series last year.

I promise to do better.
Game 1
11 points (4-13, 3-8 3s), 1 rebound, 6 assists, 4 steals, 1 block.
Game 2
12 points (4-7, 1-4 3s, 3-3 FT), 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 block.
Game 3
12 points (5-11, 1-2 3s, 1-2 FT), 1 rebound, 3 assists, 1 steal.
Game 4
17 points (7-15, 0-3 3s, 3-3 FT), 5 rebounds, 7 assist, 1 steal, 1 block.
Game 5
13 points (6-13, 0-2 3s, 1-1 FT), 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block.
Game 6
22 points (9-19, 2-3 3s, 2-4 FT), 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 block.
Average:
14.5 PPG (45%, 32% 3s, 77% FT), 3 RPG, 3.5 APG
08-09 Season Average:
11.7 PPG (46%, 40% 3s, 83% FT), 3.2 RPG, 3.5 APG
Let's not forget that he was involved in a mismatch nearly the entire time he was on the floor.
When we won 66 games and Delonte was putting those numbers up no one was saying he was playing poorly. You don't even know where your team struggles when they lose--you have as much credibility in any NBA discussion as the shit that I just left in the toilet at this point. -
FootwedgeExpose me for what Curly? You put in all that research and what's it really say? You want to compare Powe's numbers PER MINUTE to PTJ? Hmmmm?
I didn't think so.
Powe>> than PoonTawn PER MINUTE. Even your side kick LTrain agrees with me. And really Curly, your posts are all emotionally based drivel....and mean nothing to me.
Tee it back up...no mulligan this time.....you're hitting your 3rd from the tee.
Again I ask you...why you hatin on Leon? I thought you were a Cav fun?
What is a shame....once Z and Shaq come back, Leon will be pickin out splinters while PT will get his 37 minutes. That, IMO, is a huge mistake. -
SQ_CraziesExposing you for the troll that you are. Which this last post is yet ANOTHER great example of.
Look at what you do, you just post for shock value and to try to get a response. You don't add any intelligence to the debate anymore. You disagreed with a move the team made and you have gone totally overboard to support your stance on it. Like I said before, you've taken on the persona of the "uncool Cav fan" ever since you put it in your signature. You make a point to try to be that at this point and disagree on anything with anyone who called you a fool over the Jamison thing. There have been multiple instances of this in response to something I've posted now, it's been easy to get you to walk right into it..
And I just fucking destroyed you in those posts, it isn't my fault you can't see it. It's very clear what you are. -
FootwedgeToday's box score...
Leon "madcat" Powe hung 16 points, 7 caroms in a measly 21 minutes. What a manchild. Nobody fucks with my man Madcat. Leon was an integral part in the Celtics winning the title 2 years ago.
