Should the Cavs make a trade?
-
ytownfootballShit that leaves the bench pretty bare.
-
NateThe Cavs would need to fill a roster spot or 2 with this deal. Powe will be back before long but you need 1 more to fill a spot. Could Wally be making a return?
-
devil1197I agree, just wanted to get some conversation on the topic.
Not sure I would do it unless Cleveland can get another guard back or keep West while adding possibly JJ. -
Lovejoy1984I wouldn't mind bringing Iggy in, as he has a pretty decent contract, but would hate to gut our bench.
If we could remove West, and put in JJ I would be all for it. -
devil1197Seems like Washington is asking a ton for their players and many think other teams can offer more for Jamison. Ferry isn't going to budge.
I don't see anything going down until deadline day. -
wes_mantoothThe more I read on Washington's position on gutting their team, the more I think they will do it in the offseason. That is, unless someone wows them with a lot of draft picks and young talent. Bosh is the guy I want and Jamison would be second.....highly unlikely that we have enough to get either.
-
Cleveland BuckThat trade is awful. I don't want Iguodala anyway, but we would be giving up too much there.
-
devil1197A league source says that Cleveland is interested in Jamison (obviously) and then Mike James also from Washington. Not sure I believe that since James really hasn't played at all this season.
-
sleeperBad trade.
-
hoops23Why would we want Iggy on this team?

The way I see it is Cleveland is a very, very good team right now with some iffy injury and legal problems coming up. They are one of a few teams that have pieces that could be moved without hurting their core (Z buyout, Wally contract S/T, JJ Hickson etc).
If guys like Jamison are available for practically nothing then that is a NEED move imo.
Good Post!! cavs are 20-0 when JJ Hickson scores just 7.0 points a game. He does what they need him to do!! Consider your post a Failure. -
Midstate01Iggy is a waste of space on the floor. Can dunk, that's it. No thanks!!

FootwedgeLeave this fuckin team alone. Jesus God Almighty. And Mike Brown will win another coach of the year award. Book it. He's probably the best coach in the NBA right now.

Wheres this guy saying JJ is worthless?

I would give it to Lionel Hollins or Larry Brown first. At least at this point and its a toss-up if they both make the playoffs.Footwedge wrote: Leave this fuckin team alone. Jesus God Almighty. Cleveland is the #1 team in the league, their going to have several records like that.
They were also the #1 team going into last season without adjusting their roster to fit the needs going into the playoffs. The playoffs are an entire different beast compared to the regular season.
If you think JJ is going to be consistently effective on both ends then you need to explain yourself to Danny Ferry and company because so far they agree with me. There is a reason they are going after PF's. Its not just on the offensive end, its his defense that is the worst part of his game along with his inconsistency. -
FootwedgeShaq blows.....Hickson blows, AV blows..........the coach blows. Time for a major overhaul.
Bring back Lee Naylon, Larry Hughes, Eric Snow, David Wesley, and Damon Jones.
Get a grip people...the team is 37 and 11.....and will be 43 and 11 at the break....probably 7 or 8 games ahead in the conference. -
Midstate01I'm really really starting to lean towards the, let's go with what we have option. It's like we keep forgetting this team is winning without 2 key players and Leon powe. For all we know he's gonna be great! Our bench is deep, our centers are staying fresh, team chemistry is great, have a solid and defensive minded coach, great assistant coaches, an amazing owner and gm, oh and the MVP. I think this team is good enough to win it now. Why mess it up. I wanna see Z have the chance to win a ring in Cleveland, the guy deserves it.
-
Ender WigginWould a terrible trade.
-
Pick6I agree I remember watching Powe when the Celtics won the championship (i think that year). He impressed me.

League sources say Cavs are still in the Andre Iguodala mix, but it is a complicated and risky decision: bit.ly/bmlcFS 7 minutes ago

I think Iggy is an upgrade over Delonte and AP but I dont think he's what this team needs right now. I wouldnt make this move unless we were able to steal a guy like Speights or Young with him. -
Footwedge
None of those players make the Cavs any better. Any of the 3 make them worse. Philly is 15 games under 500 for a reason.KR1245 wrote: Nothing new here:

Trueblue23Yea if I'm Cleveland I don't want AI.

Quit being an idiot. Everyone knows Cleveland is good but you cannot be content and not want to get better when it won't cost us much at all.Footwedge wrote: Shaq blows.....Hickson blows, AV blows..........the coach blows. Time for a major overhaul.

The Cavaliers are in the same boat as last season, running through teams and leading the league.
What in the hell did that get them last year standing pat without making any upgrades that WOULD NOT HURT THEIR CORE? Were going to be moving worthless picks, Z who would come back in a buyout, and a young player that comes along every year in the draft (multiple times).
When the deadline comes, and teams like Washington etc are getting pushed into a corner, you make the trades for a Jamison type player.
Here are the main reasons for making a trade imo
1) JJ Hickson hasn't been through the playoffs and quite frankly I doubt his mental and physical toughness when teams are actually going to play tough defense.
2) We cannot depend on Powe (I think he'll do fine but still) to carry JJ's minutes with his 4th? major knee surgery. He may feel healthy, which I truly think he is, but I don't want to depend on a player that hasn't played all season to produce when it matters most.
3) West has missed the last four games with his finger, many thought it would only be 2 or so and the reports are saying it will take longer to heal than we first thought.
4) West's trial got moved back to April 26th. If he cannot get a plea before that date then I feel uneasy. Stern is not taking any shit when it comes to gun issues. I'd hate to see a 7-10 game suspension in May.
